Which full-size SUV with captain’s chairs offers the best passenger and cargo room for the money?

You could start your search by browsing Cars.com’s 2013 Best Bets among large SUVs to find models that meet your criteria, found here. Captain’s chairs for the second row are available on all the Best Bets except the Audi Q7.

The extra-large Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon and king-size Chevrolet Suburban/GMC Yukon XL are among the Best Bets, but you may not have to go that big (or expensive) to find what you want.

The Chevrolet Traverse, Dodge Durango and Ford Flex have three rows of seats (with captain’s chairs available for the second row) and ample cargo room. In addition, they use less gas than the big rigs and have base prices of roughly $30,000 to $40,000. The Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia are more luxurious versions of the Traverse that can go for more than $40,000 when loaded with features.
