False advertising

They advertise they will beat this dealer or that dealer but gave the lowest value offer out of five quotes I got for my vehicle. They refused to match or beat anyone they claimed they would. Even when shown quotes from those dealers to prove it. False advertising is not a great strategy for business. I you're looking to sell or just getting quotes save your time.

Shout out to Rob and company at Country Hill!

Rob Zuel helped us find the right car for the right price with NO hassle! (I was looking for a specific trim level of Kia Soul). We drove down from Iowa, and were in and out of there in record time. The car is wonderful and Rob is a jewel to work with!

Terrible Experience

I bought a 2013 Cadillac ATS from Country Hill less than 3 months ago, and I feel like I have been taken advantage of by this place. They say that every car they sell undergoes thorough inspection, which is backed up by their own 3-month/3000 mile warranty. Shortly after I purchased the car, I started hearing clunking noise coming from the front suspension. I called their service department and scheduled an appointment. When I came, their mechanic didn’t even bother to lift the car and investigate the issue. Instead, he drove it around and said that he didn’t hear any noise. I then pressed on the frame of the car making it bounce, and one could clearly hear the front struts make a grinding noise to which the mechanic replied that it was normal. A few weeks later when it finally got hot outside, I cranked the AC for the first time, and it was also sounding louder than normal. So, I went to the service center again, shared my concerns with the same mechanic, and after pointing his flashlight at the cooling fan he said the same thing: there was nothing wrong with it and that I was welcome to get a second opinion from another shop, which I did. I dropped the car at the shop where I normally take my car to, and they informed me that the bushings on the front control arms were bad, front struts were leaking and the AC was low on freon, which meant that there was likely a leak in the cooling system. Luckily, I purchased the extended warranty which covered the cost of control arms and the AC, minus the deductible that still I had to pay out of my pocket, which was around $500. I was also informed that the clunking noise I was hearing was due to the worn struts which are not covered by the extended warranty and cost $1000 to replace. So, I got stuck with $1,500 worth of repairs on a car that rolled off the dealer’s lot less than 3 months ago. Every time I reached out to Country Hill, they were reluctant to address these issues. First, I was given the runaround by the mechanic, then, after I took the car to a different shop I got a hold of their manager, whose name was John, who said that if I had taken the car to them, I wouldn’t have had to pay the deductible and that it was normal for struts to leak and that they didn’t need to be replaced. He also added that I should give him a call if I had any other issues. On 6/11 I called Country Hill and asked to speak to John again, because I wanted to have the situation with struts resolved. He didn’t even call me back. So, If you are looking for a used car, SHOP ELSEWHERE.

just bought a used car from them. entire staff was very easy to deal with. set up appointment on line when i got there the car was up front cleaned up and ready for me to take a test drive. entire process was very quick and all the staff that i dealt with were great. had me set up and going without any time wasted and on the road. first time dealing with them and would buy from them again next time.

Take it to a mechanic for inspection before buying

I am very disappointed by the inspections done by Country Hill before the sale. They will tell you everything is checked and good just to make a sale. When I took the car for a test drive, I noticed that the service light was on. I asked about that and was told that after being serviced they just forgot to reset it. When I went back to get the car the same day, they had already reset the service light and it is no longer on. After a month of having the car, the service light came on again. This time I took it to a service shop and they recommended an engine oil service, spark plug service, air filter service and differential fluid service.

Buyer Beware

Bought a 2014 Lexus 350 in March 2019. There were 2 problems that were not disclosed at the time of purchase: 1) tires not the same size even though, with AWD, that can cause serious damage to the rear end; 2) no key was provided to unlock lug nuts. When owner was contacted, he refused to correct problems and instead affirmed the shop supervisor’s earlier offer to sell me 2 new tires to bring all tires into compliance. My regular mechanic advised against that solution because Lexus cautions that all tires should be same size and have comparable wear to prevent damage so I ended up purchasing 4 new tires at my own expense. Sad fact is that once this dealer gets your money, you are on your own.
