I recently bought a car here and had a great experience, unlike in other dealerships (to be fair, not all on the island) where I'd been confronted with... a lot of aggressive & annoying sales tactics. This was nothing like that. My salesperson was Ed McGarr and he was extremely low-key and patient with me, even though I asked a lot of questions--I really liked the fact that he had a background in fraud prevention and was comfortable with me checking out some of the numbers. (He was also willing to help with some special circumstances my husband & I had.) Everything just went incredibly smoothly. The finance manager was great too, even though I seem to have forgotten his name temporarily (I know where to get it, it's out in the car, it's just a bit too cold at the moment for me to go out & check!). I may have benefited from the fact that I was buying my car, a Legacy, in December, a time that didn't seem incredibly busy for Subaru dealers in my area, who all seemed to be waiting for the 2017 Impreza to come in, but still, I found their low-pressure and reasonable approach quite refreshing.
I brought my car in for a air bag recall. My registration sticker was removed (I know my sticker was on my windshield for a fact) the Subaru manager told... me there is no way possible that my sticker was removed at his facility. He told me they do not remove registration stickers. Before I spoke to the Subaru manager I spoke to a nice man from Volkswagen and he told me they remove them sometimes for different reason and the mechanics usually put them on their toolbox to make sure they replace them. The Subaru manager then told me they could've thought my car was a trade in and that's why it could've been removed. The mechanic that worked on my car broke a piece on the side of the dash board so now it hangs by the drivers side door. A piece was broken off where my air conditioner is - now I can not turn my knob all the way to cold and he made scratches above my steering wheel. I was told this was a 1 day process I dropped off my car at 7:30 am and returned at 4:45 pm my car was not ready. But the ironic thing is my husband was called at 10:30 am and asked if he wants a diagnostic test done. He said no and therefore, my car made no money for their facility. They do not treat your vehicle with respect. I will never use their facility again. Total disrespect for my property. I give them 0 stars.
Bill Brienza provides a pleasant buying experience. He is friendly and knowledgeable. He can help you with New VWs or Used Subarus. We were there to... buy a Subaru. Things went smoothly and we picked up our Forester within the week. The prices are a good value. Our first touch with the dealership was through our internet request. Tim McCutchan was the first contact and he was pleasant and pointed us in the right direction for what we were looking for. We would buy from Riverhead Bay again and would be happy to work with Bill again.
3 years ago I met a wonderful representative from Riverhead Bay Volkswagen named Bill Brienza who helped me understand the process of leasing a volkswagen... . He explained it to me every step of the way. Being a senior , I could have easily have been taken advantage of, but Bill was honest, straight forward and trustworthy. I leased my first VW from him! I recently returned to Riverhead Bay VW and was thrilled to be able to meet with Bill again who knew just what I wanted! Bill had us meet with Jeff L. to do the lease and financial paperwork. Jeff L. too went over everything so I understood exactly what I was signing. No stress, No nonsense, and in 2 hours I drove out in my new 2015 Beetle!!! Thank you Bill B. and Jeff L. you guys are the BEST!!! Joan S.
My experience with Riverhead Bay VW was GREAT. The overall atmosphere of this dealership is very "non pressure." I had been there a few times before finally... purchasing my car, and I never felt any pressure, annoyed, etc. This is something that's very hard to come by these days, as I would intentionally avoid certain dealerships if I felt they were too overwhelming. They were VERY fair regarding the final price of my car, and it looked beautiful the day I picked it up. Joe Passalacqua was the salesman who worked with me, and he is the top reason I give Riverhead Bay VW such a high review. He was kind, honest, he didn't "bother" me while I was looking, took the time to discuss anything and everything I wanted to, and I never felt a bit of pressure. On the day of pick up, he went over every single gadget & feature my vehicle has- he couldn't have spent more time showing me everything. A perfect example of his honesty- he dissuaded me on purchasing a particular model which was MUCH more expensive than what I ended up purchasing, because of a personal concern I had brought up to him. He could have very easily said " yes, you'll be fine!" like most salesman would. When I'm ready for my next VW in a few years, I don't even need to think about where I'll be going and who I'll be asking for. I'd this recommend this dealership to anyone/everyone. :-)
We bought a pre-owned, pre-certified Touareg that was in great shape, and it was an easy decision not just because of the car, but because of Bill Brienza... was honest and forth right. A very knowledgeable and friendly salesman, not out to pull a fast one. Even though we live in Brooklyn, we are very happy with the service and attention we get there. Thanks Bill and RBV
I had to purchase a car for my first time. At the first time, we wanted to shop around so we visited several dealerships around there including riverhead... bay. I met several other dealers around this area but they were all the same. So i came back to purchase a car from Bill. He was diffrent and clearly i could see the diffrence. He was very honest , personal and he did not play the game. He did his best to match our needs and gave us the best price. I deeply appreciate his effort and time. Great experience!!!!!! By the way i bought jetta from him.
approach every car dealer with trepidation: fear I will be over-sold, confusion over car talk language, and embarrassment that I have a disability that... has the potential to ask, why is she driving? Bill breaks all these molds. He understood my special needs and worked with me to overcome the challenges I face in driving. He also worked hard to provide me the financial deal I needed to make it work. There was no pressure, no "sales" pitch, but a genuine desire to make the deal work. I would highly recommend Bill to anyone who does not consider themselves to be "seasoned" car buyers but just someone who knows what they want and what they can afford.
One of the only dealerships I have ever known to go out of their way to take care of their customers. Their General Manager George genuinely cares whether... you have a good experience or not. He took care of my parents in such a way that I actually have trouble believing there are people that amazing in the car dealership business. Go to Riverhead Bay Subaru if you are in need of anything, whether it be a new car, used car or just service. George will make sure you get exactly what you pay for and everything you need.
Professionalism and positivity from Tim and Joe on down . Great pricing. No pressure. Worth the drive. It's hard to find a dealership that treats people... like they are human. After dealing with a dealer in Smithtown we did some online research and was put into contact with Tim McCutchan. Tim is very easy to deal with and was the main reason for going to riverhead.
