Disappointing Service Experience with Coliseum Lexus of

Disappointing Service Experience with Coliseum Lexus of Oakland and the Lexus Corp. USA.On June 10, 2024, I visited the dealership after encountering an issue with the retractable hardtop on my beloved 2006 Lexus SC430. As a classic car enthusiast who meticulously maintains my vehicle, I specifically chose the official Lexus dealer for this service.The service advisor informed me that the top was not closing completely and that they needed to replace the entire mechanism. However, I suggested a couple of troubleshooting steps - resetting the computer and inspecting for debris before resorting to such drastic measures. Regrettably, these suggestions were dismissed, and the technician proceeded to close the top manually by cutting the cables. I was shocked that such a solution was deemed acceptable.To compound my disappointment, the initial service paperwork and invoice (attached) made no mention of cable cutting. This lack of transparency further eroded my trust in the dealership.Seeking resolution, I turned to the Lexus Brand Experience website, hoping for direct communication with Lexus Corp. ***. While a courteous lady did reach out, her response left me disheartened. She explained that dealerships operate independently and absolved Lexus Corp. USA of any responsibility. When I pressed for more information, she deftly discouraged further pursuit.As a result, my once-pristine SC430 now bears the scars of unprofessional service. It pains me that no one is willing to take accountability for this unfortunate incident.I implore you to consider the impact such experiences. Our trust in the brand relies on consistent quality and customer care. Is there any avenue for resolution or further investigation?

Dear Mr. Quinonez and Coliseum Lexus of Oakland Management, I appreciate your response regarding my concerns with the service performed on my 2006 Lexus SC430. However, after calling you I was disappointed to learn that, despite acknowledging the lack of thorough troubleshooting and transparency, your team has declined to take responsibility for the damage caused during service. As previously stated, my vehicle’s retractable hardtop was improperly handled when your technician manually forced it shut by cutting the cables. This action was neither documented in the service invoice nor communicated transparently. Instead of addressing this mistake, I was offered an estimate to repair the very damage caused under your care. I hope you can understand why this response is both frustrating and unacceptable. I would like to give your dealership one final opportunity to resolve this matter fairly. I am open to discussing a reasonable resolution that does not place the financial burden of repair on me for an issue your technician caused. Please provide a written response outlining how your team intends to address this situation. I would prefer to resolve this directly with you rather than escalate the matter further. This is the worst lexus dealership I have ever dealt

This is the worst lexus dealership I have ever dealt with. I was quoted 33k out the door taxes and fees included, after I drove 2 hours they brought me paperwork for 37000. When I asked the sales manager to meet the agreed upon price he said no and apologized for the inconvenience. I am absolutely disgusted with the team here. I will never refer anyone or buy from here. Be ware they tell you something to get you here and turn around and do something else without any regard.

I'm sorry you were disappointed with us. We were disappointed as well when you visited. If you recall there were several discussions with your sales associate, Temo. The first when you called that lasted for almost 8 minutes. Temo offered to save you time and check with Hamid the manager on duty to see if a better price could be offered from the advertised price. At the time the price was the lowest ES in its class listed online within 500 miles. Nonetheless, we agreed to discount the vehicle over $900 and sell for $33000 plus fees. Temo during his follow up also sent you a detailed price breakdown reflecting documentation, tax, and license. This price with fees reflected the price you verified when you visited the store. Apparently, somewhere in the discussion, Temo texted incorrectly after you requested additional discounts in excess of $4000 and inferred out the door for $33000. This was never verified by management and no subsequent documents were sent to you reflecting the price requested by you. When you arrived at the store you and your family met with Hamid our manager who was deeply apologetic for the misunderstanding. We also offered to fill your current vehicle with gas and additional discount from the verified price sent. Unfortunately, we could not come to an agreement and as you threatened to discredit us with negative reviews online we continued to offer concessions and our services. Later you attempted to contact us and purchase the vehicle again at a price outside of market conditions, when unsuccessful you proceeded to post reviews on several websites. Our team is very straight forward and our online pricing is very competitive. I would invite anyone to call, email, or visit Coliseum Lexus of Oakland. Car is great, sales person was knowledgeable,

Car is great, sales person was knowledgeable, experienced, nice, patient. The problem is ALL THE EXTRA add on by the financing department, I took me almost two months to cancel insurances warranties extra BUT after almost two months of dealing with this, I discovered additional charges which I was never made aware. It was ridiculous, I'm putting this review up so people.who read it check their financing contract and don't allow financing employees to distract you and also avoid showing you what you're signing. I strongly feel that in my case, it was very deceiving, just be careful, pay attention and make sure you're getting what you want and NOT SOMWONE ELSE IN THE FINANCE DEPT

EXCELLENT service by everyone at Coliseum Lexus of Oakland. I recently purchased a new ES350 and traded in my old Lexus. From my first contact with Chimgee Shatar (Master Certified Sales Consultant) through my conversations with Ron Fortt (General Manager) to finance paperwork and contracts with Sayed Massoud (Finance Manager) I could not be more satisfied with their service. Chimgee answered all of my calls, texts and emails promptly and accurately. Even though I repeated several questions, she was so patient and kind to continue to answer them and explain the auto features to me. Upon delivery of my immaculate car, she went through the set up and even sent me some videos to watch at a later date. This sales woman is tops!!! We all know there is a lot of important paperwork involved when making an auto purchase and Sayed is efficient and responsive while getting you through all the papers. And guess what, no tricks at the end! Lastly, I would like to thank Ron Fortt as he is definitely the consummate professional. When you work with folks that are professional and happy it shows me that the people that lead must be doing a great job. Thanks again Coliseum Lexus for all your help.

Great ownership

After doing my research and search around the bay area, I bought a used RX-350L from them. They offered the best price and the buying process was very smooth and efficient. I had a issue with the air conditioning and brought it to another dealership near me in San Jose and they could not cover the problem under warranty. I talked to Oakland and they covered it with not problem. I truly appreciate all the support and follow-up from the team at Lexus of Oakland and going above and beyond.

There is nothing we both hate more than buying a car. We go in expecting a hard sell and "let me go ask my manager" and keeping us waiting until we agree to things we don't want just to get out of there. We just bought a new car at Coliseum Lexus and it was the best car buying experience we have had. CHIMGEE sold us the car and she never gave us the hard sell. She was available to answer any questions we had and take us out for a test drive. She found us the exact model we wanted and had it on her lot, full of gas, washed, and ready to go. She helped me hook up my phone and pointed out how to use many of the bell and whistles that come with a Lexus. Thank you, CHIMGEE, for making buying a new car so easy.
