We stopped by this little lot in search of a decent used car without any mechanical issues. Right away, we got the "seedy" impression from the cheesy decor (1970's-esque flag banners, and dirty, musty "office"). We had seen a couple of listings on cars.com, which described the cars as having no issues. When we arrived and test drove them, we quickly found that they were not honest ads. One of the cars had broken switches and a loud muffler, and the other car had grinding brakes. The woman running the lot had no information about the cars, but pulled out an invoice from the Auto Repair shop next door to them for misc. tests and checks totalling over $700. Immediately, red flags went up that these two companies are in a partnership of some sort. We got out of there and scooted to another dealership down the road where we made our purchase.

I just bought a car from them and I found them quite delightful. I didn't feel pressured or hurried. They made me feel like my needs were as important as everyone else. They were honest and pointed out any flaw they noticed. They didn't try to hide it. They seemed to have a great relationship with the finance companies they deal with. They bent over backwards to make me happy. It was the smoothest non-stressful buying experience I've had, when a loan is involved.

I was looking for a used Honda Accord and a car they advertised caught my attention. I live in Deerfield and they are in McHenry, so it isn't convenient to get there. I asked if I could pick the car up on a Saturday, have my mechanic in Deerfield inspect it, and return it on Monday. The woman who answered the phone told me their insurance doesn't allow them to give out cars overnight. She suggested that I have a mechanic in her area look at the car, but I don't know any mechanics in her area. I then asked if someone could meet me an hour before they open on Monday so that I would have time to get the car to my mechanic for an inspection, get to work, and return the car before they close. She said they have a small staff and they couldn't meet me any earlier than their opening time. I decided that if they didn't want to accommodate me a little to make a sale, then it probably wasn't worth it to drive out there for the car.

I bought a car from Retek, they were very honest and nice and that's what mattered to me. The deal was fair. They fixed a few things that I was picky about. I’m happy with my new pre-owned car. Pleasant experience overall.

I can always count on Retek to give me the best deal in town. My wife and I appreciate your integrity. My father was a mechanic and I have been around cars my whole life. I know a good dealership and good people when I see it.

I called and Retek about a car I wanted and they called me back and I asked him some questions which they had all the answers to. They told me to come on down and we did and a nice guy met us outside. After all the paperwork he showed me 2 cars of which I purchased one. I would recommend everyone to come to Retek for their next car.
