Unprofessional employees and poor finance dpt

I have mixed feelings about this Dealership, but in general the experience was very poor. Carlos in finance and Irwin in sales both lied and provided poor customer Service. Carlos assured me my credit inquiry would only get hit once but was actually hit 3 times on my initial visit and I am still fighting with the credit bureau to have removed. Then when I returned to sign my paperwork he mentioned he had to run it again and it would be a soft inquiry because I was already pre approved. NOPE, another hard inquiry. 4 hard inquiries total to purchase the exacts same single vehicle. My salesmen Irwin was a complete joke. Other than forgetting who I was later that week and calling me to try to sell me a vehicle (after I already bought one), he was joking and cussing on the phone to other employees while I was having a follow-up conversation with him, he proceeded to call me back again like I was a new prospect and didn't just buy a vehicle from him 3 days prior. I did have to wait for a new truck to arrive which was at no fault of the dealership, so this review has nothing to do with the time it took to receive a new vehicle. I am only giving this dealership 2 stars instead of one because all of the managers I dealt with were extremely pleasant and were very willing to keep me up to date while waiting on the vehicle. I would deal directly with head management again but defiantly no employees.


Don’t buy

Don’t buy from this dealer… sold me a xxxxed up truck !!!! They act all nice to you when your going to buy a car but when you need help they act stupid !


horrible service, impatient sales representatives

We had a horrible experience here I’ve purchased one vehicle from here in the past and it was great but second time around trying to purchase a vehicle for my girlfriend it was nothing more than horrible. Our salesman “Pablo” was rude and aggressive, he had no patience and referred to us as “that family I was talking about” to his fellow coworkers. He gave us the price we were looking for (Barely) but his attitude and utter lack of respect for his customers was embarrassing. I’ve been serving in the military for 5 years now and I have never been this disrespected before in my life. My girlfriends family has been treated badly here as well to the point of getting called names for not purchasing previous vehicles, we decided to give them (gold star motors) a second chance but once again they failed and lost not just our business but everyone who will in the future ask us for reference to a dealer ship.


Typical Car Sales BS

Do NOT go here. Typical salesman xxxxxxxx. I drove 2-1/2 hours to get a car with my son and 3 hours back only to find the spare key does not work. This was found out by my wife unlocking the door with the physical key since the fob didn’t work and then the alarm went off and she couldn’t turn it off at 6 am . The salesman will not get the key programmed or check near where I live and expected me to drive for another 5 hours to get it checked there. Basically told me I’m screwed and have to get it fixed myself. Typical


Exhaust filter problems

Had problems with exhaust filter was from out of town took me in and fixed it when Chevrolet wouldnt thx for the great service five stars in my book thx mr Gonzales and crew

I had a financial representative assist me and he was so rude asked for a business card in case I had other questions rudely declined and said good night and walked away . Never will I buy a car from their.


service and parts dept for 2013 denali

needed a remote key. traveled from San Benancio to prove ownership and have I.D. bought 2 keys to put car in neutral to be towed. got price and scheduled a new remote. had car towed to dealership. was informed car ready next morning. had 11:30 appointment in monterey. went to dealership and long line at station to pay. was given 2 keys, no remote. when asked where remote was, it was not on order. simple question "why would we have vehicle towed in and not order a remote" back to parts dept. obvious we had to cancel the 11:30 appointment. i left not happy leaving my wife to wait. when i got back to San Benancio i called and she said they were trying to program a remote that had dead battery. when he asked to speak with service manager the employee said it would not do any good. he then told her to calm down when she said this is the last american car we would buy and definitely not from star motors. the parts man i dealt with the day before was nice and i do not think he is at fault. the several employees starting at the pay window and back to the parts department are not an asset to Star Motors. car buying experience at goldstar motors

My boyfriend and I just purchased used cars from goldstar motors in salinas. They have a huge inventory. Very friendly staff. No hassels. Play area and xbox for kids, if your dumb like me and take your child. Warm cookies and fresh popcorn made waiting for paperwork a whole lot better. Had a great experience. Ask for chris and billy!


Poor Way of Dealing with Customers Credit Info.

I bought a vehicle from Gold Star at the beginning of June 2013. I was told, after giving my income information etc. to the salesmen Gill, that my credit was approved for a loan. I was also told that my payments would be a certain amount and I had agreed to that amount. I later came to find out that Gill gave the financing department the wrong income information and they went on to run credit checks over and over, which has hurt my credit. Due to the false information I was given on the day I took the car home, my payments were more than what I had agreed to and my credit took a dive due to Gold Stars deceit.
