I came here to sell my truck.

I came here to sell my truck. While I was there they test drove my truck, They came in about $3000 below the lowest Kelly Blue Book Value, so I declined their offer. In the following nights several items were taken from my truck. I went to check my dashcam to see if I could see a license plate or anything. That is when I found the last recording was at CarMax, their technician's hand can be seen disconnecting the dashcam in the picture. never reconnected. When I called to speak to a general manager, I was there was no general manager in. The "Sales Manager" immediately took an accusatory tone and refused to listen to what I had to say. I had to explain the situation several times as this person could not understand what was going on. After putting me on hold to talk to a technician, he attempted to explain that they only disconnected the obd2 port . I had to explain those are 2 completely different things and the video captured their team disconnecting the dashcam. Then they demanded I drive down and show them the video right now! I would rather wait until the general manager comes in. I Would not recommend this place based of shady practices

Don't Buy a Car Here!

My nephew had a car shipped down from Tacoma, WA, to Buena Park, CA. It sat in the lot for four days before he was notified it was ready. We went down to pick it up on April 28, only to be told that it had a cracked side mirror and hadn't been smog-checked yet. An appointment was made for Monday, May 1, at 7:00 p.m. to come pick it up. He called before we went to the dealership and was told it was ready this time. When we went in, Joshua, the "salesman" who handled our sale, told us that the mirror had not been replaced and they were still waiting to have it smog checked. He went to the service center to see what he could do and left us hanging for at least a half hour. Once he finally returned, he said that they had smog checked the car and he could take the car today, and then return when the part for the mirror came in. We said okay. After test driving the car, we filled out the paperwork needed to purchase the car. Then we waited another 30 minutes or so while they washed the car. During that time, we spoke with the sales manager, Alma, who also gave us a lot of useless placating statements saying everything went through the call center. She did offer a tank of gas and some coupons for future service. Big deal! What is the point of a salesman having a card if everything goes through a call center?! Needless to say, the customer service in the sales department was deplorable. The finance department and signing department were on top of things. I might sell a car here again, but I will NEVER buy another car here again!

Don't Buy a Car Here!

The employee got angry and wrote “F U”

Went in to look at car and decided to not purchase one. The employee got angry and wrote “F U” on my Carmax customer notes because I changed my mind. I DO NOT recommend this car max. P.s.: to manager look it up the car stock is Stock #21100397

Carmax sold me a busted down car

Horrible experience with Carmax, we recently bought an Audi A3 from this location about 5 months ago, at this time there have been nothing but major issues with the car including the most recent issue where out thermostat busted and the coolant pump needs to be placed. This caused the car to go into EPC mode and make the car drive very slow only up to 40mph. Carmax looked at it and said they couldnt find out the issue, they had it sent to Audi where they discovered the thermostat and coolant pump issue. I told Carmax this car is a lemon and was not in good shape when we purchased it and asked them to exchange it to a different car. The service manager refused and said the best we can do is maybe give and offer on the car and she said in this case the offer would be substantially lower than what we got the car for. It is not our fault Carmax sold us a busted down car that should have not passed inspection. All we want is a an exchange and for Carmax to stand by their quality.

Ridiculous

Applied for car loan, 3 of them qualified me, then when the sales person found out what I did for work he told ne they wouldn't sell me a car even though I qualified for it. DISCRIMINATION at its finest!!! Who cares what I do as long as I qualify and the payments are current. NOTHING ELSE IS YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not so great

Not a good experience i have good credit was just looking into getting a good used car and carmax #1 i believe but i got an amateur sales guy he sucked and noone cared they didnt even take over it was like ok so the sales person was bad as far as getting approved was fast but theres now wiggle room like as far as payments because they go through other banks not there own. And by researching you can go to your nearest dealer which has the same used cars. They get the used cars through auctions or trade ins and carmax hikes the price by alot so look around before you might get a better deal. Anyhow i went ford and got a new hybrid very nice and they could give me the payments i could afford also dealers can lower that sticker price with all the rebates.

Excellent Experience

A lot of the negative reviews on this place are a bit silly. In my experience from this past weekend, if you listen to the salesperson who you are assigned, bring all the documents requested, make appointments, and come fully prepared, you will have an excellent experience just as I did. I placed a 7-day hold on the exact car I wanted, and made an appointment to come test drive it and apply for financing a few days later. I spoke with my salesperson, Jerry Neyland, a few times on the phone before coming in, and he always had the answers I needed. He advised me on what documentation to bring with me, and when I arrived for my test drive appointment Jerry has the car ready for me. We took a quick test drive, I fell in love with the car, and we started the financing application. Since I brought everything we'd need, it was a BREEZE! In total, I was maybe at CarMax for 2 hours maximum. I had been stressing over it all week, only to find out it was all so, so simple. Jerry's customer service is second to none--he was friendly, quick, and understanding. He kept me informed every step of the way, and not once did I feel he was putting pressure on me or trying to "sell" me on anything. CarMax Buena Park gets 5 out of 5 stars for me, and Jerry Neyland gets 6 out of 5 stars! Overall an excellent experience in every regard.
