Arlington Toyota made the experience of buying a car easy

Arlington Toyota made the experience of buying a car easy and stress free. Kevin Figueiredo, Matt Romano, and Roger were very helpful finding me a 2021 Toyota Corolla. Kevin took us on a test drive and was very easy to talk to. He made the process of buying a car easy and as quick as it could be. Everyone that we spoke to was very nice and accommodating.

Very unorganized and sketchy marketing tactics

This review is not for the company because they definitely do not care. It is for any prospective buyer. Go somewhere else. I saw the vehicle I was interested on line Wednesday November 23, 2022 and hit the button for Today’s Price. I knew it would generate a phone call but, ok, I’ll answer. Matt Romano called within minutes and asked what questions I had. I asked what is today’s price. He fumbled around and said it was a marketing thing to get contact info. I should have stopped there. I agreed to a tentative appointment for noon yesterday Friday November 25 and was bringing my more mature mom to make sure she was able to get in and out of car comfortably. Friday morning I let Matt know it would be a little later because i was coordinating selling my Acura privately so dealing with that. He said fine, i told him i would let him know when we were on the way. I later let him know we would be there within 45 minutes. Mom is almost 80, has some slight mobility issues and i didn’t want to be dragging her around all over the place. When we arrived Matt was nice, had us sit down so he could get the keys. He should have had the keys or at least knew where they were. He knew we were coming. AN HOUR LATER, he had to go to multiple sales people to find key but apparently the GPS system drained the battery to death. They would have to jump it. Didn’t jump. Battery would have to be replaced. Would be another hour. Mom said “Did you forget we were even coming?” Matt blamed previous sales person for not telling him HE had to jump it to show it. Lo and behold they got it jumped and i was able to test drive. Loved it. Beautiful car. Afterwards, Matt asks if i have any questions. I again asked for “today’s price” and he laughed mentioned again it’s a marketing thing and said it’s always 100.00 off. Okay, good enough. I let Matt know i was still test driving a couple cars at another location and waiting for my own funding. Had to get my car out of my name in order to buy a new one but already had my loan approved. He tried to get me to agree to a purchase order but no. I was already unhappy with the whole thing. He offered a sales order that had all the numbers to present to my bank. Ok. I had already done research, knew value of car, all the add ons so knew my pre approval amount was sufficient. They have the car listed 10,000.00 than it’s worth then a 10,000.00 discount. How nice. No. When I told him i knew the value, he said “haha! Another marketing thing. It’s kind of like what a Big Mac looks like in a picture compared to real life.” What??? The final number was close to 2000.00 more than it should have been. Asked what the 1885.00 is for and was advised they charge it on every car. It’s for floor mats, tinting and cleaning. That’s a lot of floor mats. I said no thank you and he said he would talk to his manager but would have a lot more leverage if I committed to the car. No. I told Matt I would stay in touch in case they would adjust the price to what was advertised. Went .5 miles away to Carmax for a completely different experience. They were way more crowded, I didn’t have an appointment but somehow drove 3 cars in under an hour. Each key was with each car, they knew where the cars were…go figure…and i knew the exact price without feeling scammed. Didn’t find what i wanted there but what a difference. I really love the car at A.T but can not deal with this kind of sales/marketing. I’ve been in marketing and theirs is terrible. I received a text from Manager Arora at 810a today asking if i had any questions. I advised I love the car but the 1885.00 was a dealbreaker. Haven’t heard back. If they somehow come through i will update my review.
