Just didn?

Just didn?t fill like a valuable costumer. Probably won?t use this dealer ship in the future. I was really hopeful that my service experience was better than the sales experience both were painful.

I took my car to a mechanic 3 different times before deciding to come to the chevrolet dealership. The dealership people were and still are very honest and polite. They told me everything they found instead of just telling me possible problems, they told me the actual problem.

I was not going to write a review here, but because I

I was not going to write a review here, but because I received two emails asking me to share my experience ? on top of a live person calling me today asking if I would go online and fill out a review ? I decided that I would. So here it is. I?m extremely frustrated with my recent experience. I brought my 2020 Silverado 3500 in for a check engine light (P2459 DPF regen frequency code). The dealership claimed it was due to a non-ACDelco air filter ? not a cold air intake, just a standard replacement filter. I was charged $496.50, which included a $200 diagnostic fee, $200 to reset the light and perform a regen, $40 for the OEM filter, and about $17 in shop supply fees. The issue will not be resolved by simply swapping the air filter. The truck has only 35,000 miles and is still well within the emissions warranty. I understand there is a TSB that mentions a non-OEM filter could affect regen frequency, but that is not what?s happening in this case. To make it worse, my $13,000 Snap-on scan tool couldn?t clear the code or force a regen ? something only GM?s proprietary tools can do. So even after paying for the diagnostic and being told it was the filter, I had no option but to pay more just to get the truck out of reduced power mode. I also called GM directly and was told they were surprised the dealer didn?t inform me that using a non-GM air filter voids all warranties. When I asked if using a non-GM oil filter would do the same, they said yes ? which is completely misleading. The representative never clarified that, under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a warranty can only be denied if the aftermarket part is proven to have caused the problem. If the check engine light comes back on, I?ll bring it back to this dealer because they?ve already started the diagnosis. But beyond that, I won?t return to this dealership again ? not for service, and definitely not for future vehicle purchases.
