Gengras Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM Hours
It all started in the 1930s when Clayton Gengras opened his first Ford dealership on Raymond Road in West Hartford. Cla
yton went on to become one of the Northeast's most successful Ford dealers. Seventy years later, Gengras Motor Cars is still a family-owned and operated business.

First off, I love my truck!! I bought it new at Gengras and had a good experience purchasing it. Service has been horrible!! The poor service has overcome... the good experience I had buying my truck and I will most likely not return to Gengras, This last visit, I made an appointment weeks in advance for a Thursday appointment to address several recalls. When I made the appointment I was told the recalls could easily be done but I was asked to leave my truck for the day, which I agreed to. Upon arrival, first thing in the morning I was greeted very nicely and proceeded to the service counter. This is were things began to unravel. The gentleman behind the counter was ok at best, not friendly just ok. He asked why I was there and I told him. We proceeded out to my truck, he got in and checked the mileage, hooked into the OBDII connection. All things seem good until he asks "when do I want to pick it up?" I replied "this afternoon." His response was "not going to happen". I'm sorry what?? "not going to happen" "I have 5 mechanics that I lost" . I'm thinking, Does that mean they quit?? Why would 5 mechanics quit at the same time?? Is somethings wrong? Why did no one call me to let me know? I had an appointment for recalls. Recalls are something that could go wrong. Should I not have priory? Especially with an appointment on a Thursday made weeks in advance for recalls. I informed him that I could not leave it overnight, I have already lost a day. He was unapologetic. Good customer service would have called to advise of the situation or offered some type of compensation for my time and trouble, but that did not happen. Like Sinfield said "they know how to take the reservation but they don't know how to keep the reservation". So I got in my truck and left.....a very unhappy former customer.
Purchased 2017 Jk unlimited Rubicon.Certified non negotiable price. From the first phone call regarding car to the last straw of finding a nail in spare... this was the worst experience ever buying a car. The salesman was a liar who got off hook by using illness for nothing delivered in deal. Went at 11 am on a Monday, test drove car and agreed to purchase. Was pressured to be back at 5 to pick up car. Was promised everything would be ready to go. Drove back to pick up 4 year old 2 hours away and came back. Absolutely nothing was done and car was where we left it at 11.15 am earlier. Manager Ron Pelletier got involved was decided would return on Saturday to deliver car, after several email with sales guy Adam over week was promised all work completed car detailed and ready for Saturday delivery.Drove up from NYC ,yes 2 hour drive, arrived and be Vechicle was exactly as left it on Monday. Manager said car was not ready to go, should have walked then. My wife really wanted car. Made deal that would return car for all work and detail. Car was supposedly certified. Oil life on computer said 61%shelf life all tires were different pressure not to mention car was beyond filthy dirty not even vacuumed.Brought car back for said appointment and left for a week. They did nothing except install agreed trailer hitch in deal. Oil life still61% tires all reading different pressure car not detailed a wasted week.Picked up car and call manager who was most apologetic and offered to fix car and re certify or buy back. I said we want car just fix it. Took car back again... you guessed it... same story. Head of service went out and opened hood of car to see if air cleaner was changed as promised and no it was not and unit fell apart in his hand.Explanation for oil was forgot to reset computer. BS as oil is blackish color. Car has 7 k on clock. They said they detailed it only problem is all the same crap and scratches exactly the same as bought it. Old compound everywhere and plastic on fenders not cleaned. Now this was a certified car which supposedly went through a 149 point test. Did I mention that discovered a nail in spare when trying to get compound out of treads. This is the worst dealership I have ever encountered and would tell anyone to run not walk out of this place. I own a Mercedes e-400 and have had several BMWs and Porsche’s ... never ever had a worst experience in my life. The only positive comment is Rob Pellitier is actually nice guy as well as manager. They tried and were thoroughly embarrassed by the horrible and inadequate service deoartment. The last time went to pick up car manager looked like he would have a stroke with the service manager. Will never take car back to this dealer again. It is now in hands of Jeep /Fiat. If they don’t perform will let lawyers go earn some money.
Just bought a used 2004 jeep wrangler from ralph at Gengras jeep in east hartford. Must say i've never been happier with sales process. no pressure applied... to buy and his patients with us test driving the jeep 3 times. ralph worked extermely hard to give us the best price. Easy and positive experience. Staff friendly and knowledge. Listen to what I wanted and did NOT try to up sell. Only took 1 day to complete transaction:)
Came in to buy a used Xterra and trade in my old one. Everyone here was fast and extremely helpful. Cory, my sales rep did a great job walking me through... the process, and they gave me top dollar for my trade in. What a great experience!!! Thanks again. Erik
Devin Booth was amazing He made buying a jeep so much fun and exciting. Fun and professional and I’m definitely going to refer some friends to him
On July 24, I completed an online form for a free $50 Amazon gift card to test drive a 2017 Malibu. A woman called to schedule the appointment for July... 25. The two men who I was told to ask for were not available. The person who gave me the sales pitch, ride, and quote (higher than website price) said he would file the gift card form. That person was not well aware of the selection and location of the vehicles. I noticed a plugged tire. I received no follow-up on the quote or gift card. I completed the online inquiry form seven times. On August 2, I brought a new car not at Gengras. (In general, test drive the vehicle(s) for which you get quote(s).
We found a car on cars.com at this dealer. We contacted them to make sure the listing was accurate, pricing correct and that the still had car in stock.... All of which was responded (over 3 emails, one with maganger) with an answer of yes price is accurate, car is in stock and all details in listing were accurate. We drove the 1 1/2 journey to find the car was being used by service manager, filthy, used cigarettes in it and it had 5,600 miles. The car was listed as new, 53 miles and listing showed pictures of when they accepted off the truck. I understand dealers use cars, but to confirm 3 times that the listing was accurate and then try to sell us a used car, shows the lack of customer care of this dealership. Also, to allow people smoke in the car is unacceptable. Bad dealership with bad values surrounding its customers. Would not recommend.
I recently purchased a new 2017 Jeep Wrangler. My salesman was Devin Booth. He is a terrific salesman. He made the whole buying experience easy and stress... free. He answered all my questions about the buying and finance process. He is a true asset to your dealership and he will definitely be my salesman again for my next car purchase.
Good overal process they respond emails and did't push hard as others dealers , so i was confortable asking questions
