After spending several months on-line researching different SUVs, I found a 2018 RDX at Tim Smith ACURA that looked like something I would be interested... in. I went to the dealership and decided this wasn’t the car I was looking to purchase. I was preparing to leave the dealership when the salesman mentioned that a 2017 RDX had just come in. This vehicle had been well cared for and I decided to purchase it. The vehicle was washed, vacuumed, and my tag was put on it. After I got home, I got to thinking that the purchase numbers didn’t add up. I looked over the paperwork and realized I had paid $889.90 in dealer prep fees. When a new car or truck arrives at a dealership from the manufacturer it must be made ready or prepped for sale by the dealer. Most car dealers will charge from $500 to a few thousand dollars depending on the dealer. Realizing the profit potential, some dealers have started charging this excessive fee on used cars also. I should have looked over the paperwork better before signing all the documents. That I paid $889.90. for a car wash and vacuum is on me, and it is entirely legal for a dealer to do this. I have done business in the past with Tim Smith ACURA and have always thought highly of them, but no more. Just because a business can legally do something doesn’t mean it’s good for their business to do it. Earl Youngblood (sales) and Gene Watson (finance) were great. They are very, very good at what they do. The buyer should always carefully look over the final purchase paperwork. Caveat Emptor…
Bought many cars in my life and these people were fast, friendly, and very accommodating! Thanks for such wonderful service! Everyone was very laid back... and easygoing!
I received a follow up call from Earl after my on line inquiry. We scheduled for the next day. He was so knowledgeable and easy to work with. Absolute... five star treatment!
Everything you want a dealership to have - knowledgeable, helpful, friendly sales - CJ Branson was a delight to work with, was very up front, and guided... us in our selection. Much appreciated! Gene Watson helped us with warranty selection and got us through the paper work, again, much appreciated. Overall, a successful, pleasant experience, and a good value.
Conner Ryan is very intelligent and well informed. He spent 30 minuets teaching me the 2020 MDX car systems, audio, car play, navigation, cruise control,... and sound system. We had a great experience from start to finish.
Earl Youngblood is a excellent salesman very helpful and accommodating your finance dept is not so helpful as I had to ask for the paperwork then hit... me with a $113 dollar charge they forgot about .Then to get my tag for the !st call was told he will call back never did,2nd call got put on hold. Finally went to dealership Earl took care me
Gene and Connor were really nice and easy to work with, very knowledgeable as well. It was a good experience and we love our new car
Connor was the worst sales person , Very rude everybody that answered the phone was rudeI would never recommend this dealership I drove 100 miles away... to buy a car and was thrilled
We went in to purchase a new leased Acura. We were met as we got out of our old car by an extremely engaging Will Sims. We were treated as special guests... through out our visit. Will was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and within a short time knew precisely what we wanted. In a matter minutes our desired new car was located. When we returned to pick up the new car Will was like the energizer bunny getting all the paperwork in order. Everyone we worked with to complete the transaction were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, the process was pleasant and painless. Special praise for Ryan Anderson, who has the thankless task of completing the endless paperwork associated with the purchase. Though it always takes too much time, Ryan turned it into an enjoyable time with his professional, but also humorous approach. Thanks to their approach to doing business, Will and Ryan virtually guaranteed we will always return to Tim Smith for our Automotive needs.
Without a doubt the nicest car buying experience I have had. Scott and Hamilton went above and beyond what I would expect sales team members to accommodate... me, an out of town buyer. This was all new to me. I had never bought a car from out of state. I had a million questions and my credit union required a lot. Scott and Hamilton were always kind and professional. When the time came for me to pick up the car Scott picked me up from the airport and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. When we pulled into the dealership there was my "new" pre-owned car. It was detailed so well it looked brand new. I noticed one small issue with the car and they quickly resolved it. Scott had worked with me the days before to get all the paperwork lined up so I could minimize the time at the dealership and be back on the road to make it home to Texas. I think I was there a total of 90 minutes from when we pulled up to when I drove off. One of the nicest things about the entire experience was that there was no surprises, no pressure to buy anything extra, and no bad mouthing of competitors. I truly felt like I was talking to a neighbor or an old friend.
