About our dealership

This seller has been on Cars.com since February 2022.
Zimmer Motors has been operating in the northern Kentucky area since 1929 and as a Plymouth franchise since 1932 initially under Ed Zimmer. In 1933 the Desoto nameplate was added as the 2nd new car franchise. The building of I-75 in 1938 forced the dealership into a smaller area of land and we operated as a used car dealership up until 1958. In 1959 Studebaker was added as a franchise followed by Plymouth (again) in 1961 and the Chrysler brand in 1978. Continuing our family-owned tradition Tom Zimmer joined our dealership in 1958 and was followed by Dick Zimmer in 1961.In March 1980 Zimmer Motors moved to its present location in Florence.

Purchased a Chrysler Pacifica from Zimmer in late 2019;

Purchased a Chrysler Pacifica from Zimmer in late 2019; today during a blizzard and an unfortunate family medical emergency the battery gave out; explained the predicament I was in with having young kids and the medical emergency being 3 hours away where I’m from which would’ve left my wife and young twins without a car and they executed flawlessly to get our vehicle running again within a short window of time. Highly recommend!!

Zimmerman was absolutely phenomenal.

Zimmerman was absolutely phenomenal. I wish this was my first stop when I was looking for a car would made the whole process much easier I came in and worked with my salesman Mr. Montarez. Who was absolutely amazing very knowledgeable exceptionally helpful definitely went above and beyond. I cannot even be more grateful. I would definitely recommend Zimmerman to my friends and family as a top choice. Thank you again for everything.

On arrival, I stood there feeling like no one could see

On arrival, I stood there feeling like no one could see me. Did not feel welcome in the service department. Almost like I was a bother. The service took an inordinate amount of time for an oil change and I was never notified of the delay. Won’t be any more visits to your dealership.

Made an appointment for an oil change that took 1 hour

Made an appointment for an oil change that took 1 hour and 35 minutes. Then I was charged for tire rotation which I did not request!

I made an appointment for warranty work.

I made an appointment for warranty work. The appointment was set for about 10 days after it was made. I also had emailed the service advisor with my warranty information and he verified that he had received it. Day of my appointment I got a blank stare and asked who I brought my vehicle in. He wanted me to sign an estimate for $600 for the work. I asked if he had a loaner car available and the answer was no. I got an uber to the rental car place. I received no call before the service center had closed with an update on my vehicle. The following day I received a few calls from several different service advisors. When I asked details I was told that he worked up front and he did t know specifics. I received a third call saying that 2 of the 3 items would be covered by warranty. Parts for one would be 10 days and the second would be 45 days. I made arrangements to drop off my rental and uber back to the dealership. Once there I was asked by the same gentleman if I was there to pick up my vehicle. He said the parts department would give me a call. I said I would be expecting a call from the service department to make an appointment when the parts come in not the parts department.
