Still waiting for my wheel to be repaired on a NEW premiere Malibu I purchased from Castrucci. They acknowledge the damage and promised to replace it........ It's been 2 years. Although they have forgot about the wheel I still receive redundant text, calls & E-mails wanting me to buy another vehicle.... No thanks!
I don’t often write bad reviews, but this business's negligence could have put my family in harm's way, and even though it was 2 months ago, I'm still... pretty sore about it. Our salesman, Lou, tried to be a helpful guide in our journey, it doesn't feel like he or his superiors were being as honest with us as they could have been. While we love our vehicle (2015 Ford Expedition EL Platinum 4x4 w/ HD Tow package and EcoBoost 3.5l twin-turbo v6). In hindsight, it was overpriced and poorly maintained by the dealership. We knew exactly which vehicle we wanted and knew Castrucci was the only dealership within 200 miles that had it. Unfortunately, my eagerness (which I take responsibility for) and our 4 kids’ antsiness pushed us to make a decision quickly. On the test drive, the vehicle made a strange noise and shudder going uphill, this was explained away to me by Lou as a normal sound and feeling shifting through six gears with a towing-ready 3.73 rear end. He assured us that the car had a lengthy and thorough intake procedure where the oil was changed, a basic tuneup was done and all manner of things were looked over and taken care of - a 100 point inspection. On our drive home this shudder and noise kept happening and the next day I took the truck to the local Ford dealership (Bill Cole Ford in Ashland, KY) where they found that the Left-Hand turbo was going to have to be replaced (wastegate failure issue) and it was going to cost upwards of $2000. To their credit, after sending over documentation and a request in writing, Castrucci footed the bill for that repair - but again - it shouldn't have been there in the first place. Unfortunately, the rabbit hole goes deeper. Since the repair on the Turbo, it seemed like our car was still not running as well as it should. As it turns out, I took the vehicle to an authorized Ford service center and they confirmed my suspicions that the oil was quite black and the air filter very dirty and clogged. I sent photos of the filter and information about the oil to Lou and his response was, "ok, I'll tell our service people." These are things that even the most basic inspection of a traded-in car can find. I cannot in good conscience recommend Mike Castrucci Chevrolet as a dealership. I hope that other dealerships bearing Mike Castrucci’s name are more thorough in their maintenance and transparency when selling a vehicle. Our experience has, unfortunately, soured us and while I hope ours is not indicative of other folks' experience -based on these comments, I'm, unfortunately, not optimistic.
