Rip Off Dealership

In December of 2022 I purchased a pre-owned 2020 Toyota Rav 4 from Roundtree Toyota in Lake City Fl. I was under the impression that the vehicle was in good working condition and was never informed of any previous mechanical issues. I purchased a "bumper to bumper" warranty and accepted the vehicle. A couple of weeks after taking delivery of the vehicle I broke down on the interstate and had to be towed. I do not know what the dealer did to get the car running but about 2 weeks later I again broke down on the interstate and had to be towed. This time the dealer told me I needed a new battery ($395) which I found unsatisfactory when I had just purchased the vehicle. I informed the dealer that I was not happy with the vehicle. I am a 73 year old veteran that suffered a stroke in 2022 and must travel to the VA hospital frequently. I cannot risk breaking down constantly. I began to experience additional electronic issues with the vehicle (blue tooth not working, maintenance lights coming on and off and the air bag failure light staying on). The dealer informed me that I needed a software upgrade for several hundred dollars. Each time I went to the dealer with an issue I was told that I needed to pay a $200 diagnostic fee to determine if the problem was covered by my warranty (it never was). I was in a bad situation as I fell behind on my auto payments as I kept having to pay for repairs. I asked the dealer to trade out the vehicle but he said he could not do that. I was searching through the glove box and found an envelope that contained all the previous owner's personal information (address, phone number, etc) and copies of repair invoices from this dealer for many of the same issues I was experiencing. I feel that the dealer knew this vehicle had serious issues but chose to resale it any way. It is my contention this dealer took advantage of me by selling a vehicle with known issues and a warranty of no value. As a result I have to surrender the vehicle with possible negative impact on my credit as I cannot afford to have continual repair costs and risk breaking down constantly. It is disgraceful that a dealer would treat a 73 year old veteran this way for the purpose of making a dollar.

Just don't do it!!!

Purchased a truck from here April of 2022, afterwards I was left with a really bad taste in my mouth. The floor manager made promises and never followed through. Another associate thought the way to handle it was to be rude and tell me to just not purchase the truck. this was after all was completed and done. If I was the actual purchaser of the truck, You bet I would have let them have it back. Now, almost a year later the purchaser has totaled the truck and as the co-signer it has fallen on me to get everything in order. The business has not gotten any better I have called a number of times to cancel maintenance contracts and I get told they are with another customer, leave a message, but they fail to call me back. So, No in good conscience, I cannot recomment any one to do business with this company I have called again today, waiting for a call back.

Worst dealer ever!!

Worst customer service ever. Sales staff is rude and unprofessional. They claim to do comprehensive inspection of vehicles for sale, but later find many problems.

Terrible quality people

Twice I have been in the store to talk about buying the truck. The first time I was told I could not afford a Toyota truck, then the next time the manager was talking down to me as if i am a child, being rude, and disrespectful while talking about buying a truck that I have not seen nor did not have it on their lot, and was pushing me to buy it. I would not recommend anyone buying from this dealership. As a disabled veteran I am appalled at how people think it is acceptable to treat people as they are beneath them.

Regrets... I Have a Few

Sincerely hoping to change this review, because I had great initial impressions. Love my certified used vehicle except for one major issue... every time it rains water leaks into the vehicle. I have owned the car a month today. Yet it has been in their service department half of that time. With no change! The first time they (said they) replaced the sunroof. I got it back (11 days later) and it immediately and obviously leaked. They had it another 5 days and asked me to come pick it up after finding and doing nothing, yet they assured me it would not leak. It is leaking still. It hasn’t even rained that hard this weekend and it leaked. The blue tarp on top now is not a great look, nor is the smell in my car and I can only imagine what this is doing under the carpet and in the columns where the airbags are. The padding underneath was yellowed already when I looked on the first weekend so this is not a new issue. This is Florida. Someone cleaned up water in this car in the lot and either didn’t alert anyone, or the dealer sold it anyway. In 5 MINUTES of testing at home I had it leaking after 5 DAYS with them, in which they said it did not leak. Very dissatisfied with service department and so far sales and management talk a good game, seem like they have your back, but here I am with a car that leaked on the lot, leaks every time it rains but magically not when they have it. If this review never changes, please hear me RUN FAR AWAY!!! From sales and service. If Rountree Moore reads this, let’s fix this mess!

Excellent Experience

My overall experience here was better than expected... I would actually call it EXCELLENT! First off, if you ever visit this lot, I highly recommend requesting Heather. She is by far one of the best sales reps I've encountered at any dealership. She was quick to reply and got me answers to all my questions about the car I was interested in, no matter if she was at work or not. I ended up buying the car right before the dealership closed, and everyone there treated me as if I was the first person to walk in at opening time. About Thirty minutes after leaving the lot, however, I unfortunately received a check engine light on the car. Naturally, I immediately texted Heather about the event. She responded at 9.30 P.M, well after her shift, and told me to bring in the next day so they could inspect the car and take care of the problem. After the inspection, the problem was found and cost around $2,000 to fix. The car does not have a warranty, mind you, but they insisted that they would fix it for FREE and give me a loaner car in the meantime, again for FREE. Many would think that they should have done both of these things given the circumstance, but I've witnessed dealerships who wouldn't, especially on a 13 year old car. Anyway, the repair was taken care of in less than 24 hours and I got my car back with a list of the repairs that was done. I will continue to monitor the car as I am slightly skeptical of something else coming up, but that is at no fault of the dealer. Like I said, it's a 13 year old car, so some issues are expected, however, I have confidence that this dealership can fix the problem while taking care of its customers. I would definitely buy another vehicle from this place in a heartbeat!
