Go to Classic Ford and see Rico Gibson !
Rico Gibson is by far the best car dealer I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with; including on the lot. The day I bought my car I had visited 3 other lots and he was not only the most friendly but the least pushy and gave me my space and room to think. He is awesome and represents your dealership and brand very well. 5 stars for him!!! :) He makes the whole process entirely easy and actually fun.

The only negative experience I had was with Chuck, the finance guy. At first he really spoke down to me like I was sort of incompetent and was unfamiliar with how money worked and credit reports, etc. Little did he know, until my awesome sales rep Rico spoke up for me when he noticed this blatant disrespect that I work for a well known property management company and am the head of running application in addition to other tasks. Meaning that I approve and deny people for homes everyday including running their credit and reviewing this in detail. I also have Bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and am in graduate school at Charleston Southern. in no was am I dumb or misunderstood anything he said, so his disrespect was not needed or appreciated. If the negotiated price was not down to what I needed and Rico was not as helpful as he was I would not have gave this dealership as great of a review. Chuck gives this dealership I bad representation I believe. However, Rico Gibson is by far the best car dealer I have ever had the please of dealing with, including on the lot. The day I bought my car I had visited 3 other lots and he was not only the most friendly but the least pushy and gave me my space and room to think. I went in looking for a vehicle to replace one that unexpectedly broke down. I thought I could only afford a used vehicle, but they were able to put me in a brand new one for a decent monthly payment.

On 11/20/13 I visited Classic Ford and purchased a used 2007 Honda Accord EX. Dayle Davis, was the salesman and before I purchased the car I asked him about any issues with the car and he stated that the car goes through a service check before it can be sold. Also he stated to me that he likes to sleep at night and with that being said he wouldn't sell a car that he knew had issues. Then we looked the car over on the outside and under the hood, before I test drove it. I didn't see any issue with the car and purchased it in good faith that the car had been checked out and everything was fine. When I got the car home, I went to remove the front tags off of the car and noticed a fluid leak under the car at the front. It looked like power steering or oil but I was sure. So the next day I had the car checked out at a Firestone dealer to see if it was a simple problem. However, I was told by two Master Techs, that it wasn't and advised that it could be the "Rear Main Seal" and to take it to the dealer. So I called Eric the sales manager and told him the issue and he told me to bring it in so his guys could look at it. When I got to Classic Ford I was told by Eric that the car would be looked at and fixed there. By the end of the day I was notified by Dayle, that the car was ready and that he would explain to me what the mechanic said but I was out of town and couldn't show up until the next day. So the next morning I showed up to get my car and was told by Dayle and Eric that the mechanic said he couldn't find any leaks and it looked like someone threw oil up under the car. So nothing was fixed because they said the car was fine. Also, the spot where the car was sitting all night I couldn't see any oil spot. I also asked if any additive was put in the car just as a quick fix and was told no by Dayle, because they have a reputation to up hold. So when I got home and pulled into my driveway in a different location and turned off the car it started leaking oil again and I notice that the oil was a clear gold color and that Classic Ford has a blacktop parking lot, so no wonder I didn't see any oil spots and it looked fine. Eric stated to me that if I saw the same problem to bring the car back for inspection but I feel as if I was lied to multiple times about the car having no issues. Once before I purchased the car and after me and two Master Techs, notice the car had an oil leak problem and now that the car has been purchased Classic Ford can care less about the issue. I also feel that Classic Ford is making me feel as if I cause this problem when the car started leaking the day I purchased the car and took it home before anything was looked at by anyone. I feel this problem was known about and Classic Ford just didn't won't to fix and instead sell the car off to some "Joe" for them to deal with and as for the so called 'Reputation" to up hold. How can you trust that? Along with trusting that they will fix the car right this time and not quick fix or lie to me again because the car is still leaking oil right now in the same area! This has been a bad experience for me buying a used car from Classic Ford and a lesson learned. Finally, a part of me also feel that this issue will be pushed under the rug and not even addressed but I'm writing anyway hoping that someone would take notice so that the next "Joe" won't get a bad experience as I did and stuck with a possible major issue just after a car purchase.

Classic Ford did a full service on this 2007 Honda Accord while we owned it. After the customer took delivery, he took it to a Firestone dealer. He called us from the Firestone dealer and said they told him the car had an oil leak at the rear main seal and it needed a $1500 repair, hoping to repair the car and charge the customer $1500. We told the customer we wanted to correct the issue and to bring us the car. When he brought us the car, we noticed it had a firestone oil filter which the firestone dealer had installed apparently when he had the oil changed, which by the way had already been done by Classic Ford. We saw where oil had been slung on the bottom of the car and we cleaned it off. Apparently the Firestone dealer who did not get the work tried to make it appear the car had an oil leak problem since that is what they had told the customer. We cleaned the bottom of the car where the Firestone dealer had thrown oil , ran the car for 3 hours with NO sign of any rear main seal leak. If the car had a problem with the rear main seal we would have repaired it. Obviously his Firestone dealer is in the business of misleading customers. Classic Ford would gladly invite the customer and his mechanic to come to our shop so that we could show them both where the problem was, THE FIRESTONE DEALER!

During Januay 2012 I leased a new Ford Fusion. My experience then was very pleasant and I have enjoyed my car. I have put few miles on it and made the decision to go ahead and purchase the vehicle. Rico Gibson assisted me with that purchase and he was most professional and courteous. The transaction took place late afternoon and took a while due to several purchasers being ahead of me for the business department. Rico stayed with me until I had completed the transaction, even though it was considerably past time for him to go home. I am sure I will do business with Classic Ford again in future years. Beware! Vehicle Might Not Be As Described!!
BEWARE! Vehicle might not be as Classic advertises on both cars.com and their own website. I called from out of town on an advertised 2008 F-150 Lariat. I spoke with 2 members of the sales department and neither told me the vehicle was not a Lariat. I negotiated a price based on the the conversations and description of the vehicle. I got a bank check for the agreed price, contacted my insurance agent and sent Classic the information they requested to process the paperwork. (I was planning to drive app 4 hours to pick up the truck.) I checked the post one last time before leaving and happened to catch the "XLT" on the emblem in one of the photos. I called Classic and the sales rep verified the truck was not a Lariat. I told them I was frustrated and thought the advertising/description was misleading and deceptive. I eventually spoke with a sales manager who told me it was up to me to look at the photos and determine the truck was not a Lariat. His response to the advertised description was that it was a mistake and it happens. I told him another one of the F150's advertised by Classic as a Lariat was also not a Lariat. He was polite but again chalked it up to a mistake and repeatedly stated it's up to the customer to look at the photos to determine if a truck was a Lariat or not. After this experience I would not purchase a vehicle from Classic Ford Lincoln of Columbia and I would not recommend them to anyone. If you decide to purchase from Classic check, check and check again that the vehicle is what is advertised. This is the description from Classic's website for a truck that was NOT a Lariat: "2008 Ford F-150 Lariat SUPERCREW, 4X4, IMMACULATE, LOADED is offered by Classic Ford of Columbia. With its full CARFAX one-owner history report, you'll know exactly what you are getting with this well-kept Ford F-150. This 4WD-equipped Ford will handle majestically on any terrain and in any weather condition your may find yourself in. With complete records on this pre-owned vehicle, you'll have peace of mind and the satisfaction in knowing your new purchase is safe and reliable. If not for a few miles on the odometer you would be hard-pressed to know this 2008 Ford F-150 is a pre-owned vehicle. This impeccably built F-150 Lariat comes with a plethora of added features that have made this vehicle a unique find. These options will simply amplify the experience of owning and driving this wonderfully crafted Ford. Amazing wheels help set this Ford F-150 apart from other vehicles like it."

Classic Ford uses a vin# decoder to populate the description fields when using autodraft to write descriptions on vehicles listed. There are 3 digits in the vin# that are used to do this. On the year models this customer is complaining about, the 3 digits are the same and it populated the field as a Lariat. We try our best to describe each and every vehicles as accurately as possible. We post 20-25 pictures on every vehicle and make sure that we show the trim levels on either the fenders or tailgate. This vehicle had several picures which showed it to be an XLT. Classic Ford gains nothing by purposely misrepresenting any vehicle, it just translates to no sale if this ever occurs. We went into the backend of the system and manually input the vehicles the custemer described and changed 2 trucks from Lariat's to XLT"S. We appreciate the customer bringing this to our attention and are sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused the customer. When the error was realized we informed the customer so that they would not waste a trip.
