It was a cloudy Wednesday and I was driving my "family man" car down the road and like a ray of sunshine I saw parked at the Berglund in Salem, My new... Car. I sprang quickly from my car and was approached by two of the most knowledgeable sales people I have ever met. One of them, Josh I think it was, owned one the same cars I was buying and even thou he was not my salesperson, he helped me get to know my new car like a champ. The sales manager was very helpful and I was in and out of the financing quick as a flash. My sales person even got me a drink when I was parched and his lightning fast speed won him the sale. So as I pulled away in my "single guy" car I waved to the gents at Berglund i felt my eyes tear up a little but I quickly recovered as I knew I would be back someday. High Velocity Paintball

We were in the market for purchase of a small SUV or crossover and considered the usual group: Toyota RAV4, Honda CRV, Subaru Forester/Outback and Maz...da CX5. We had visited some other dealers weeks earlier and had test-driven the other models. On a Saturday, we decided to go to Berglund Mazda just to look at a CX-5 but not necessarily to test-drive one. However, thanks to Sam Simpson, our sales associate, we ended up purchasing a CX-5 the same day. He was quite knowledgeable about the vehicle (which, in our experience with other sales associates in other dealerships of different makes, is not always the case) and he let us test-drive the vehicle twice so that we could get a better idea and evaluation of the vehicle. Sam is an excellent sales associate whom I would recommend; he is sincere and never once did we sense any high-pressure sales pitch. When it came to delivery day, Sam made sure the vehicle was ready; he even sent us a calendar with a photo of the new car. He introduced us to the friendly folks in the service department and we got to see the service bay (which appeared clean and orderly-first impressions are still important). There was a small issue with the vehicle’s mudflap and he made sure that it was repaired. I cannot rate the quality of repairs at this time since the vehicle is not yet due for maintenance and has not needed repairs. As for the facility itself, it’s a little dated in appearance, especially when we had to go next door to the newly renovated and fancy Ford dealership to finalize the paper work; however, it was clean and presentable. As for the buying process itself, paperwork is paperwork and I don’t think there is a way to shorten that. Finally, if we were to decide to purchase another Mazda (or a Ford), we would ask for Sam again!
The parts department ordered a OEM tail lamp for my car and after they received it in said it was the wrong part and they could not return it. I have ...to pay $65.00 for the part and I cannot use either. I told them I did not think that was right to charge me for a brand new part (still in the box) that I cannot use but they said it was non returnable. I will not use Berglund again for service.
