Bad Dealer

Manteca Ford is the worst repair shop in the Central Valley they wasted my 2 year warranty and cost me $13,000 and repairs to be done by an outside diesel specialists Phil Waterford is a liar does not stand by his word his shop is a joke he has so many negative reviews I don't know how this clown is still in business he's not an accredited business with Better Business Bureau says right on the front page this company typically does not respond to complaints I know this to be true because you won't return calls or do anything about my issue he gets away with this because of all his charity work that he does for the community of Manteca California buyers beware stay away from this guy

Misdiagnosed Scam

I recently bought a brand new alternator from Manteca Ford, as the current alternator I had on my Mustang was giving out an annoying noise, and also were the only ones to one in stock (all parts store in the area had only for Manual/ I needed for an automatic). I had my trusted mechanic install the new alternator and once was done he informed me that it was still making the same annoying noise & told me to let Manteca Ford know & to look at it as it might be defective. Weeks later when I finally had a day off in the middle of the week I took it to Manteca Ford to inspect & diagnosed the issue. Even the service tech could hear the noise as well. Later that evening they call me to inform me that their diagnose was that it was not the alternator making the annoying sound but it was my power steering pump and wanted to charge me a total of $640.00 to replace & install a new power steering pump. Of course I declined, and took my car back to my mechanic & told them what Manteca Ford told me. He was shocked with what I told him and with a mechanic stethoscope we both listened to the both the power steering pump & the alternator. Alternator was clearly making the annoying noise while the power steering pump was silent. I even took it to another mechanic that I know & he even told me the same thing... NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR!! So lesson is to not trust Manteca Ford for any service. I gave 1 star due to the fact they washed & vacuumed the inside of my car.

took my car in for check engine light

i took my 2005 Taurus in for check engine light they told me I needed a new computer for $1200 so I got that then after a week light came back on it was the alternator going out the entire time so they would be happy to install one for another $600 well I got my own alternator and installed it myself for less than 200! Mike in service was my contact. The car never ran correctly again eventually transmission smoked probably from the new computer! I would not recommend having service done here without having car evaluated somewhere else first! I was from a ford family my father retired from Ford unbelievable!

Great experiance

I looked and looked went to 4 dealerships, and stayed in my backyard in Manteca. I went to Manteca Ford 1st, I was ready to buy BUT you know now it is. You just have to look to see if your getting a fair deal. I wasted 2 days then went back and purchased my truck at Manteca Ford. One thing I did get a little bit cheaper price at another dealer. BUT I did not like the hassle and the way I was treated. I just didn't want to give them my hard earned money. Yes I recommend Manteca Ford

I left a deposit on a used car but changed my mind after considering the high mileage over the weekend. Was told I had to wait 10 business days to get a refund for my deposit and NOW that the required time has passed I'm told I have to go in between 9:30 and 4:30 Mon thru Fri. Bob in finance was completely rude once he found out they weren't getting my money and won't even MAIL a refund check.

Ridiculous Over Estimate / Charges I took my 1989...

Ridiculous Over Estimate / Charges I took my 1989 mustang in to have the starter replaced and get estimates on repairing the convertible top and identifying / fixing a squeal coming from the left front wheel. I was quoted $550.00 to replace the starter right off the bat. I knew right away that the cost was outrageous but considering I had to "bump" start the car just to get it there I decided to bite the bullet and pay for the repair. The following day the service center called back to share the estimates for the remaining work. I was shocked when I was told that replacing the convertible top motor would cost $1,500.00 and $750.00 to fix the squeal, which is supposedly being caused by a bad left front brake caliper, bad rotor, and "down to the metal" break pads. I immediately declined the repair services for those two items. Since I still needed to fix the squeal, I priced the parts (O'Riley Auto Parts) that the service department indicated needed to be replaced. I also priced the starter to confirm what I already suspected. Below is a comparison of the parts cost from O'Riley Auto Parts and the "Parts and Service" estimate provided by the service department; Starter Manteca Ford Service - $550.00 (charge) O'Riley Starter - New $89.99 +$5.00 core = $94.99 (Part #32524) Conclusion... RIP OFF - At $100 for the starter and $80 per hour labor, the repair would have to have taken 5.625 hours. Having replaced the starter on multiple (15+) vehicles I know it shouldn't take a service department more than 2 hours. I paid for this service because I didn't want to do it myself; it's a dirty difficult job without a car lift, so I dont have any room to complain other than I was allowed myself to be taken advantage of. "Squeal" - Left front wheel Manteca Ford Service - $750.00 (estimate) O'Riley Part - Left front - Brake Caliper $21.99 + $14.00 core = $35.99 (part# 18-4258) O'Riley Part - Left front - "Drum / Rotor / Hub assembly" $44.99 (part# 6984RGS) O'Riley Part - Left front - "Standard Disc Brake Pads" $14.99 (part# LMD199) O'Riley Part - Left front - "Wheel Bearing & Race" $40.99 (part# RP5707) Conclusion... RIP OFF - Ford $750 / Do it myself $136.96 I declined this repair and will be doing it myself. The brakes operate fine and don't pull or grind, so I suspect that the estimate is exaggerated. Either way, I will purchase the parts for around $150 and make the repairs in my garage. Having done this exact repair several times on various vehicles, I can replace all of the parts and bleed the brakes (if the caliper is indeed bad) in less than an hour. Convertible Top Motor... I would detail out the ridiculous over estimate ($1500), but if you have read this far then I am sure you have a good idea how it ends up. Overall Conclusion ** RIP OFF! **

I bought a 1996 Lincoln Town car from a private seller....

I bought a 1996 Lincoln Town car from a private seller. The car began leaking coolant into the passenger compartment and releasing steaming coolant through the defroster vents onto the windshield. I too the car to my local Ford Lincoln dealer. Phil Waterfords Manteca ford mercury. They charged $1,500 to replace the heater core. Less than 5 months later the same things started happening again. Coolant leaking into the car and steaming up on the windshield. Took it back and they once again replaced the heater core. A few weeks later it started again. After 3 new heater cores I began to research online and found Fords have a lot of trouble with something called Electrolysis. Everything I read told me that this was the problem. I took some of the material into the dealership for the 4th time. Six weeks later it is happening for the 5th time. They gladly charge me $600+ more dollars and tell me Ford corporate told them to do a few things including adding baking soda to the coolant. None of this is listed on the invoice. Not even the reading verifying they had found the electrolysis. I pick up the car and drive home only to discover the car now has a dent and scrapes it didn't have when I took it in. Also I am told that Ford informed the service dept. manager that the problem may not be fixable without replacing the engine block. The feeling I got was they were gonna get a lot of money out of me if I kept coming back expecting the problem to be fixed. I never had the chance to get them to fix the dents because the heater core problem returned and my mother had an accident while trying to wipe steamed coolant from the windshield so she could see. After $2,200 + dollars and a few hundred dollars worth of dents and an accident caused by an unsafe car... I am ready to say this dealership does not know what the xxxx they are doing unless you count their skill for taking peoples money.

WARNING Don't do business with : Phil Waterford’s...

WARNING Don't do business with : Phil Waterford’s Manteca Ford & Exotic High Line If you are looking to get harassed into buying a car and cussed at, then this is the place for you. I received a magazine flyer with the scratcher to win 1 out of 5 prizes. Also if you came in with the flyer you will be donating $5 to Susan G. Komen for cure (Charity for Breast Cancer) and from what it seemed like, we won. I’m always skeptical to these types of things but if I didn’t get anything at least it was for a good cause (since my grandma died from breast cancer). So my dad and I decided to drive all the way from Stockton to Manteca. The moment we arrived the sales rep gave us a look and started being super rude and harassing us to buy a car. We told him we weren’t looking to purchasing a car today thank you, but he kept on trying to convince us to buy one. Then after a couple minutes of saying no thank you, he decided to get even ruder, and asked “then what are you doing here if you didn’t want to buy a car!?” I told him that we received this magazine flyer for charity and said that it also said that we had won, so I wanted to see if we did or not. He then turned to my dad and asked him what car he has. My dad spoke a lil English but he said what it was. I was like, why do you need this information if all we’re here for is for this charity event. Then he ignored my question and said, “How many miles is on the vehicle and are you still making payments.” I asked him again why do you need this information. He rudely replied by saying that he was going to see if we can trade it in to get a new car. I told him, “look we are not going to buy a car today and we are just here for the charity event and see if we won. You also need to stop being so rude to us.” He stood up and when he came back, he threw a wrist band at us and said, “this is what you won, bye!” I was like that was it, can I at least see if our number matches the prize? He was hesitant to give me back my paper. I grabbed my paper back and before I was able to examine the number, he said “if you’re not going to buy anything then you can leave.” So I got mad and started walking out, he then told me that I needed to give him back my flyer. I told him that it was mine and I was going to take it with me. He then started pursuing us all the way to the parking lot and harassing us to give him the flyer and even started cussing at us. We got into a confrontation in the parking lot and I ripped up my flyer and got into my vehicle and left. I would hate to be the charity associated with a dealership like this; it just makes them look horrible. And if they are like this with a charity event, I would hate to see them on a normal business day!

I felt I couldn't leave until I bought the Extended Warranty. I said 'No Thanks' over and over again but I was hammered about how I'd need it in the future. I finally said Yes. I sold that car not too long after because I wasn't happy. I tried to get a refund for the warrantly but to this day I have been given the run around although I am entitled to one per the contract.
