Arrived on a Sunday to look at a Challenger with my friend (so i could drive the new car home). Was turned over to a “sale person” that we both thought... must have been a maintenance worker. When I asked about price, I explained that I had been looking at cars on the web and noted some discounts being offered in addition to the Dodge rebate. The salesmen promptly told me that I should go to the other dealer for that “deal”. He proceeded to tell us that the car I was looking at was now sold....that he had sold it for MSRP and that he would sell it to me for MSRP today and that he would “back date the deal” so the their other “buyer” wouldn’t know. Needless to say, I walked out. Both my friend and I had purchased vehicles from this dealership in the last two years; a new RAM 1500 and a used Toyota SUV. What a low rent dishonest sales person. We left...the Challenger is still there a week later!
The parking space was limited, couldn’t find the entrance. Everyone was friendly, my sales rep was patient and worked with me to get the car I wanted.
I purchased a vehicle (that part was great , Kudos to Robert) and after waiting some 6 hours for the paperwork (with my 2 year old in tow) I went in to... sign paperwork. I was presented with Gap, I accepted. I was presented with an extremely expensive extended warranty... he gave me the new payment for both. I accepted. He then says, “you have been so patient, I will throw in these other items for you” and he proceeds to tell me I know have dent protection and a GPS tracking system they “installed” thrown in. It turns out, he has already added that crap and more into the new payment he presented me! When I found that stuff being charged for the next day in my review of the paperwork, I flipped my lid. So I looked up the warranty. $3,750 he charged me for a Chrysler warranty that Chrysler sells on their own website for about $1600. $3,750 for the warranty, $895 for the GAP , $999 for the “tracking system” which is actually a BS warranty on the alarm system, $230 for theft recovery sticker? $815 for the dent protection! $6,744 of overpriced warranty products, and half of which I was told were “thrown in”.
I drove 30 miles to this out of town dealer to check a vehicle I found online, hoping it wouldn't be a waste of gas and my time. It WASN'T. The sales... person was friendly and knowledgeable. He went over the vehicle in detail and made sure all my questions were answered. I asked him to work up the numbers on my trade and the new vehicle. I fully expected to endure the routine of going back and forth with him and a manager like I have done so many times. Well that didn't happen! He presented me with their offer which was better than I had hoped. No haggling...I told him let's do it. This is the way car buying should be. I spent less time including driving both ways and completing the deal than I have on prior cars. I highly recommend Danny, the sales person that helped me.
There was no hassle from the time we walked on the lot. It was an easy car buying experience. We found what we wanted and were finished with the whole... process quickly.
