I did not end up purchasing a car with this dealership

I did not end up purchasing a car with this dealership however I did not because of the honesty of the dealership. The dealer fully disclosed prior damage the vehicle had and the repairs. It was my decision to not purchase because of the damage.

I’m a long time customer of Heller and I’ve bought

I’m a long time customer of Heller and I’ve bought several vehicles from them in the past. The last 4 vehicles I’ve bought have had nothing but problems. Not one of them I was able to bring home same day because something had to be fixed on it first. Then when it’s in the shop you get no communication. My salesman and the finance guys are great but they sell a lot of junk vehicles off their lots and lie about their quality. I’m not convinced that all the salesman are full of xxxx, some might not be aware of the issues that some of their vehicles have but I’m sure some do. One vehicle I bought at 45,000 miles the transmission went out and had numerous electrical quirks to it. It was for sale a month later when I was told it would take at least 6 months to fix. I traded it for another truck that had a lemon title was nearly unable to insure it. This last time I bought a truck and it was for sale online before it was even road safe. Why put a vehicle up for sale if it’s not even ready to go home with the customer? For someone who had bought several vehicles in the past it’s very disappointing. My old loan for the truck I traded in didn’t get paid for nearly 2 weeks either, after I’d been told to skip the payment on it. Incase you didn’t know that’s not good for your credit. I’m convinced Heller is more worried about selling trucks than the actual quality of the trucks their selling. It’s sad because they didn’t used to be this way. So beware of the dreaded lemon titles and buy backs because they sure have a lot of them. If you buy new and don’t have any issues you’re good to go but I’d be very nervous about buying anything used from Heller. I do wanna stress the fact that my salesman is great and promptly responded to all my inquiries but the salesmen can only do so much. Please stop selling junk vehicles and learn how to actually service a vehicle.

Tommy, We hate reading this and it's absolutely never our intention to sell trucks that need repairs, but it is not a common occurence for us. Our heavy duty service team should be trained to inspect and repair those issues before the sale. We do want to reitterate that we are here to help, especially after the sale, and want to help you too. Given your recent experiences, our team should have handled this with urgency. Our management team is looking to get more information here and the name "Tommy" alone isn't helping us figure out who you are. If you could reach out to our Sales Manager, John Brown or Mike Gannon, to let us know, we want to dig deeper into this and help. Please give them a call at 309-527-6050

Drove over 40 miles, arrived in person to test drive a truck they have listed for sale. Truck was not (still not as of this review) road safe to test drive. Truck is still listed for sale AND still NOT ready to test drive; therefore NOT actually for sale. Heller has a long history of listing vehicles for sale that are not road safe, and/or ready to be test driven. It's a form of a bait and switch tactic which "is a form of fraud and is illegal in many jurisdictions, as the seller's original offer was not made in good faith."

David, We certainly are not in the business of misleading our customers. Seems like this was an unfortunate circumstance wherein a vehicle still needed more repairs before making it road safe for customers to buy. We want to ensure vehicle safety prior to selling anything and hope you respect that. It isn't a bait and switch at all. We want to sell that truck, just not until it is ready. Our sales team has reached out and want to help. Read most of our reviews and you will see that we do not have a long history of the issues you state. We are here to help and want you to find the perfect truck for you!

We recently purchased a used Jeep Wagoneer from Heller

We recently purchased a used Jeep Wagoneer from Heller Ford in El Paso, IL, and the entire experience was nothing short of fantastic. Huge shoutout to our salesperson Onie Maisonneuve, who went above and beyond from start to finish. We live about an hour and a half away, but Onie made the process incredibly easy by handling everything over the phone ahead of time. By the time we arrived, all that was left was a quick test drive and a bit of paperwork—start to finish, we were in and out of the dealership in around 30 minutes! A couple of days after taking the vehicle home, a mechanical issue popped up. Onie was immediately responsive and had a loaner vehicle arranged and delivered to us the very next day. The service department didn’t miss a beat either—they had the necessary repairs completed quickly and efficiently, making sure we had our Wagoneer back just in time for a planned family vacation. I can’t recommend Heller Ford highly enough. If you’re looking for a dealership that truly stands behind their vehicles and values customer service, look no further. Ask for Onie—he’s the real deal!
