I do NOT recommend working with Logan Shafer, if

I do NOT recommend working with Logan Shafer, if purchasing a car from Tom Ahl. I live in Tennessee and was looking for a new car, I am originally from Lima and have previously purchased 3 cars from Tom Ahl. My dad went and test drove a chevy equinox with a sunroof and said it drove good and it looked good in the pictures so my dad called and asked Logan if they could hold it as it would be 6 days before I could come back to purchase it. They asked my dad to put additional money down to hold it longer and he did. I had limited time I would be in Lima so we went to pick up the car Thursday, signed the paperwork, gave them a check and when we went to take the car, it was not the car my dad test drove and did not even have a sunroof. When my dad called to hold the vehicle, he gave a specific description of the "car with a sunroof" (Logan said back to my dad, you didn't think she would want the one with a sunroof so he acknowledged the sunroof) and it was the only one he test drove. Logan just went out and saw a car the same color as the one we wanted and put a hold sticker on it and did not even verify it had a sunroof. When we got to the dealership we talked about the sunroof and when Logan took the car to get it cleaned, still said nothing about it not having a sunroof. When we found out the one he held was not the right one I asked him about the sunroof and he said, "I didn't notice it didn't have a sunroof." The car I wanted was already sold. I had been so excited, at 53 I was finally able to get a car with some of the fun extra's like a sunroof, now because of Logan being incompetent in doing his job my only option was to get a car with none of the fun extra's. Logan took no responsibility for his mistake and just said it was miscommunication. (not sure if that is the Tom Ahl training, to just keep saying it was miscommunication instead of owning up to your mistake). After 3 hours I was done dealing with Logan and settled for the car he held for us (with scratches and nicks in the paint). When I thought I was getting the car with the sunroof I couldn't wait to show it off, now I don't even want anyone to know I got a new car because I don't want to talk about it. I had a 6.5 hour drive back to Tennessee and all I could think about was how much I hated the car I will now be driving for as many years it will last and I will probably never have the opportunity to get another car with the fun extra's on it. I hope Logan enjoyed the commission he received for not doing a good job. He said he talked to his manager about the situation, but a manager never came out to try to rectify the situation; Logan did lie about other things so that could have been a lie also. It is hard to find a trustworthy car dealership and now I have lost one that I had trusted previously; I will never purchase from Tom Ahl again.

It's been several years since we've purchased a vehicle

It's been several years since we've purchased a vehicle and we found our Genesis GV80 on the website so we drove the hour down to Lima to take a look at it. Our sales person, Scott, was amazingly knowledgeable on this vehicle. When we got back from our test drive I knew this was our car! We had been looking for this particular car for a while so I knew what we wanted. We made the required down payment on it and came back the next day to finish up the process. The financing portion was smooth and stress free. thanks to Dustin, the finance manager. We will definitely recommend Tom Ahl to everyone we know looking to purchase a used or new car. It's worth the hour drive from Toledo! I just can't say enough about how good the entire experience was.

After several years of struggling to find the exact truck

After several years of struggling to find the exact truck that I wanted, one popped up on Autotrader that was located at Tom Ahl Buick GMC. I had never shopped there before but couldn't pass up the chance of trying for this truck. I looked through their list of employees on the site and chose Braden to email as he looked the most relatable with my own personality. I sent the message after hours on a Friday expressing my interest in the vehicle and asking what the total price would be out-the-door to give me an idea of what kind of fees and extras they would try to put into the price. Braden replied first thing the following morning when the dealership opened and provided the information upfront. There were no hidden fees or obligatory extras. We exchanged several emails throughout the day discussing pricing for both the truck as well as my trade-in. First thing Monday morning, we finalized the pricing for both and began discussing the financing where I applied through both Tom Ahl and my local credit union for comparison. Tom Ahl got me the same rate my bank offered. I scheduled a time that day to drive down to test drive it. Once I arrived on-site, Braden handed me the keys to go out and test drive it on my own while he stayed at the dealership to continue assisting his other customers with their deals. When I got back, I told him that I was interested in it and wanted to move forward with the paperwork. After a short wait due to how busy they were with the end-of-year rush on cars, I met with Jay in their Finance office and got everything signed. Neither Braden or Jay ever tried to pressure me into buying things I didn't need or strong-arming me into doing one thing or another. I did the entire negotiating aspect of my deal online and over text and was at the dealership less than an hour including the time I was driving the truck. This was by far the easiest and stress-free car buying experience I have ever had. You read so many articles and watch so many videos about how car dealerships are out to get you or sneak things past you but none of that applied to the team at Tom Ahl. There isn't a single piece of feedback that I can think of on how they could have improved my experience with this truck purchase.

Dealership was one of the best dealerships to work with.

Dealership was one of the best dealerships to work with. Matt was awesome as well. He handled everything over text and phone conversations as I live over one hundred miles away. He was very informative about the truck I was looking to purchase. He did a great job getting the deal done. Got to meet Tom and he was really outgoing. Even stopped to take time and congratulate me on purchasing a truck. Great place to purchase your next ride. .
