Andrew Pompeii at McGrath was excellent to deal with....

Andrew Pompeii at McGrath was excellent to deal with. Very professional and knowledgeable. Financing people very pushy to upsell. I would buy from Andrew again though. He gets 100 percent!!!

Disappointing

Unfortunately, I had an experience similar to another reviewer. I inquired online about a vehicle that I was interested in purchasing. Another dealership had a similar vehicle at a lesser price, so I had communication regarding price. Approximately 2 weeks later, I circled back to set up a time to look at the vehicle. The price had increased $3,000 online from when I initially inquired. When I followed up prior to viewing the vehicle about the increased price, I was told the retail value was higher than the current listed price and they could honor the initial price. That was unacceptable to me, so I continued my search for a vehicle elsewhere. I received follow up communication from another individual at the dealership 5 days later asking about my experience with them and how they were doing. I replied expressing my disgust with the fact that the price was significantly increased after I expressed interest and that left a distaste for the dealership, in general. I received a response from the individual who’d discussed the increased price to tell me it was due to the vehicle being in a worse condition than they felt acceptable so they did repairs and increased the price to adjust for their costs. Given the vehicle was a 2019 with only 17,000 miles, that explanation seemed questionable, but I again moved on in my search. Now, two days after that email exchange regarding the repairs resulting in an increased price, I did another search for the vehicle I’m looking for and I can see the vehicle is back down to $13 LESS than the initial price I saw on the vehicle when I initially inquired (so a price decrease of $3,013 in 2 days). That makes no sense if their substantial repairs 2 days earlier increased their costs as they advised. I have never once left a review such as this, however the entire experience was unfortunate and concerning...

Alex and Nate worked with me to get me into the Wrangler that I wanted. Neither were pushy and both were very patient. I’ve been looking at Wranglers with these two for over a year and they found me the perfect one!

Don’t shop new or used vehicles anywhere else

I absolutely recommend McGrath for new but especially for used cars. I replaced an old junker with a gem I found in their massive used inventory. The car I was most interested in was at an out of town location so Alex E. had it brought to the location nearest to me.I did my first test drive and mademy purchase all in less than two hours! We were having some difficulty getting the monthly payment to fit in my limited budget. I needn’t have worried. Alex handed my application to Jakein financing , who worked some pretty phenomenal magic with the bank to crunch the numbers down to where I needed them to be and later that afternoon,I arrived at home in a gorgeous 2018 Toyota Yaris. I will miss my 207 hevy Aveo(purchased new from another McGrath location here in town) but it was time to retire that car and meet my new love. Everyone was so nice, wshile I was waiting for the load app to process several otheremployployees came over to chat. I am very happy to report that while working his magic, Jake made it possible for me to purchase the warranty protection, which was very important to me as a single FEMALEwith no clue what makes cars go. I can highly recommend McGrath service departments to you but especially at this location. If I’m being honest I have to admit to a small amount of bias, my sonis in the service department, when you take your car in for service be sure to stop and see Ben. To summarize:

Great Buying Experience

Had a great buying experience. The sales person, Alex, was very helpful. Had great communication since I lived a ways away. He made sure my questions were answered and I was able to see the vehicle before I drove down to look at it. No pressure sales was great. The finance person, Tyler was great also. Made sure we knew all of our options, but again, no pressure. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy a car.

Truck trade

Ken Hill was great! He did what most salesmen struggle to do, he listened. He was very helpful in assisting me to find the right vehicle. He was very clear throughout the process. He stayed in communication, but was not overwhelming. I've bounced around to several dealers throughout my life. This is 3rd vehicle in a row I purchased through McGrath & 2nd one in a row with Ken's assistance. I'll definitely reach out to Ken 1st when I'm vehicle hunting next. I hope McGrath is compensating Ken appropriately for his high quality work!
