Bait and Switch
I made an appointment to test drive a truck at 3pm. i live an hour away and i made it clear that I was driving an hour to come test drive the vehicle. I arrive at the dealership, only to be taken to a cubicle and sat down and then find out they sold it at 2 pm! Now, they claim they tried to call me but i only received one phone call and it was from a 309 not 319 area code. Furthermore no voice mail was left either. Basically, they tried to run the bait and switch on me! so i wanted to share this experience with others to raise awareness of their shady tactics!
Poor customer service
Told them not to run our credit due to we were Pre approved by our credit union. They told us over and over that they would not run our credit. They then turned around and ran our credit anyway. (We found out after buying the car). I tried calling twice to find out why, and they will not return my calls. We also told them to register the car under the March driver. Got the license plates today, and they registered the vehicle under the August driver. Will never buy a vehicle from them again!
We were assisted by Vickie and she found the car I wanted and others that I test drove. She did everything to make our experience easy and complete!
Shady practices at this dealership. Stay away!
They have a pre approval process through Chrysler Capital that doesn't do a hard pull. I received a pre approval in the amount of $23,400. When I talked to the salesperson and finance manager, they claimed they couldn't find it. The salesman asked to give him the info again. This resulted in a hard pull. This was done without my permission. Unethical business, shop elsewhere.
I stopped in to look at some cars, and was greeted quite quickly in the parking lot. Within a few minutes I was set up to go for a test drive. I was brought inside and offered water while we populated my financing approvals and such. I wanted to think about the car and not decide that day and did not feel pressured to make an on the spot decision. I appreciated that.
Researched the type of vehicle we wanted, found it at Dan Deery. Went to look at it, drove the vehicle at night, asked them to research financing options. Advised salesman we needed to think about it, and would be back the next day to take another look, had an appointment with salesman. When we arrived, salesman was busy, got ushered into the financing office, paperwork was all drawn up to purchase the vehicle. Salesman assumed we were buying and we didnt get a chance to talk to him. We felt very pressured and like we received bad service. We took some hours to think about it and decided to purchase it because it was exactly what we were looking for. Also, the SUV, a Toyota Highlander, only had one key. They tried to charge us when we asked for a second one. They haggled over that key and it was ridiculous, but they finally gave in after some weeks. The vehicle needed tires and we were going to try to negotiate tires and a remote start as it was a feature we wanted. We felt rushed, stressed and hoodwinked by them assuming we were buying it. They have great products and inventory, but their customer service and communication are horrible, in our experience.
bought car a month ago and have already had to put 900.00 into it. I was sold a lemon. I called them with the first problem a wk after I got it. Didn't car that it cost mee 300.00 bucks. Now another 600.00. What a joke. Not honest at all. I stressed that I had to have a dependable car to drive back and forth to Iowa city hospital. Not dependable yet!! Sad!!
sales manager is unethical as far am concerned
As a distance customer, i was trying to handle this online. Thought i had found a vehicle, and the price was what i thought a good deal. I was working trying to catch up after having son total our pickup a few days before, when the sales manager calls me that the financing was approved and i had to wire the company, or on credit card, make a 1000 deposit, WITHIN THE HOUR, or the vehicle would be sold to someone else showing interest. I wasn't going to drop what i was doing and drive into town to wire funds, or call my son who had the vehicle my wallet in, ask him to get out of work, to have him find my credit card. sales manager Brian G shouldn't be dealing with people, or I don't deal with customers the way they train their people to at Dan Deery in waterloo Iowa,.... The people of waterloo deserve better.
WORST BUYING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! GOT LIED TO SEVERAL TIMES! SALESMAN DID NOT RESPOND PROMPLY WAS RUDE NEVER BUYING ANYTHING HERE AGAIN! GO ELSEWHERE!
