Reviews
Write a reviewI purchased my vehicle at this dealership seven years ago and have remained a loyal customer despite living closer to another Honda dealership. However, the service I have received over the past year has been less than satisfactory. Most recently, my vehicle was brought in for a routine service, recall check, and brake replacement. I anticipated that the car would be returned in excellent condition; instead, it came back with an array of issues that were not present prior to my visit. I returned to the dealership twice to have these problems addressed--issues that, in my opinion, should not have been missed if the mechanic had performed a thorough inspection. A few hours after my second visit, I noticed yet another problem: an EVAP warning, which typically indicates a leak or loss of pressure in the fuel vapor system. I called the service advisor to inform him, left a voicemail, and gave him adequate time to respond, but he never returned my call. After driving around a bit, I noticed a persistent gasoline smell. The car smelled like gasoline when I picked it up; however, I chalked this up to be residual vapor from the fuel pump replacement they had performed. This was not the case. I investigated where the smell was coming from and discovered copious amounts of gasoline leaking from my fuel tank. The leak was so severe that the Ann Arbor Fire Department had to respond and apply fire retardant before the vehicle could be towed to a new service center. There, technicians found that the fuel pump had not been properly secured and the O-ring was dislodged--yet another careless mistake made by Fischer Honda. Dealing with them has been an absolute nightmare. They have not offered any compensation for the work done at their dealership, despite the risk of harm their negligence posed. Reimbursement for towing and repairs was made nearly impossible and was offered only on the condition that I sign a legal agreement not to share my experience. The professionalism and workmanship at Fischer Honda are abysmal. Let this be a cautionary tale: avoid this place at all costs. Go to the folks at the Honda dealership on the other side of US-23–they'll treat you with common decency and get the job done properly.

Excellent service!! Todd is great! He is very helpful, explains the necessary repairs, and does everything to make the repair experience very positive. And he definitely likes York?s Peppermint Patties!! Lol I highly recommend Fischer Honda for all of your Honda service needs.

I have loved this dealership in the past. But the last few visits have been nightmares of 'upsetting' and 'over maintenance'. Today was the worst yet. I was told that in order to get 2 free oil changes I had to get a B maintenance package (I had a legit B package less than 10.000 miles ago). I declined, explained the situation, and confirmed the service and price for today's visit. I was driven to work by their driver. So far, excellent service! After a short while I received a preloaded standard text from the desk clerk stating to text that number with any questions. Again, great job! I had been told that the job would take 2 hours, maybe a little longer, and that they would notify me when it was done. After 3 hours I texted. No response. I called after 4 hours. "Oh, it's probably done...I don't know" "Sorry, the driver is gone for the day but we are open for another hour. I don't know if the driver will be here tomorrow. Maybe you can take the bus?" Their website said "free drop off and pick up service" And that they were open for another 2 hours, not just 1 hour. A kind neighbor quickly drove me to the dealership to retrieve my car after the desk clerk confirmed that it was done a few mins later. I was handed an invoice and told that the only way to pay the invoice amount and avoid a 5% markup was to pay with a check or debit card. "That would have been a very good thing to know beforehand" I said. Clearly I was pissed. I can't be the only person with a high repair bill and low checking account! Doing some quick math, I realized this was a scam. Credit card processing services charge a company around 1.8 - 2.5% of the total. The dealership was adding 5%, meaning that at least 2.5% of my total had nothing to do with covering credit card 'processing fees'. It was pure profit. I dug out my debit card and went to swap it. But when I looked at the point of sale card reader the screen showed a higher amount than what the invoice showed. I was assured by the desk clerk that the amount debited would be the same as the invoice, and not be the higher amount shown on the screen. Getting into my bank account later that day, I saw I was charged the higher amount, that included the 5% credit card processing fees. I am feeling a phone call with the local BBB is in order.
