ZERO Response Dealership

Had my car into Preferred Ford, Grand Haven for two issues back in March. One of the issues was that the windshield wipers on my 2022 Edge were scratching my windshield. They told me that they needed to write up a special Ford Corporate ticket for approval to replace under warranty, and they would get back to me. I waited three months with no contact. In July, i left three separate voicemails to the service manager (he never answers his phone) with details of the issue, what i was told by his staff, and what are next steps. ZERO response. Then i called the dealership GM in early August. He asked if he could dig into the master, and that he get back to me within 24 hours. Guess what, NOTHING! Do not give them business!

DO NOT BUY USED CAR FROM THEM!

DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM HERE!! Had the car less than a week.....engine light comes on and they tell me I need a new exhaust flex pipe. Which is dangerous to drive like that. CLEARLY...they are either ...scamming me...so don't take your car there for repair or second, they don't properly inspect their cars. Either way...very shady.

For new cars to all future needs

Chris and the rest of the sales team are absolutely amazing. They were extremely helpful at every step of the process, answered all my questions, never made me feel pressured and even after my purchase has been completed, they continue to help me and take their time teaching me how to use and understand features on my vehicle. For anyone who is looking for a place that goes out of their way to make life long customers, this is the place to go.

For new cars to all future needs

Do Not Recommend

I live 3 hours away from the dealership and my car was delivered to me in an unacceptable condition. The alignment was visibly off upon driving and the car had an intense smoke odor. I obtained a report prior to purchasing stating that maintenance and inspection (including a wheel alignment and brake work) had already been performed. However, upon taking the car to my own dealership they stated that most of the report was either inaccurate or completely false. I came out of pocket for repairs and was only reimbursed a third of what I paid. I would not recommend this dealership at all.

A Ducky Tale

Ford is not my true pick of vehicle as I am a Chevy girl, however, I didn't choose a Chevy as the sales folk were less than tasteful in their tactics at the dealership in Grand Haven. (Pushy to say the least). On that note, I took a look at several other vehicles including Mazda, Kia, Toyota, Ford - from this area and surrounding areas. Chad "Ducky" Gitchel was the salesperson I dealt with at Preferred Ford in Grand Haven. He was just awesome! I don't think I've ever met a more helpful and polite salesperson before. He brought vehicles to my home for me to test drive, had paperwork on them for me, worked out numbers and had them all in hand when he arrived with the vehicle. He targeted everything I was looking for in a vehicle that I had requested. I surely cannot say the man is not thorough. In the end, despite all of his hard work, I decided to lease a different car from another dealership. He was supportive of my decision and I truly feel he has the customer's best interest at heart and he will make the best deal for you as he possibly can at all times. He knows the decision is yours, and it is a big one. I guarantee when my lease is up I will be going to visit Ducky first thing. As to a downside, they need to work on parking for customers in their lot. I am disabled and the one time I was there they had new trucks parked so they were blocking all of the handicapped parking spots.

Appt.time 11:15am call at 4:40 pm on hold for 10 minutes then the service rep (Brice) rude well we are busy can you call give a update. When will it be done maybe 1 hour to 1.5 hours more we are busy but I had a appointment at 11:15. No call we forgot to call and tell you it is done different rep (Brice ) done for the day. Not Great service

Great Experience

Very positive experience. Chad "Ducky" was great to work with on the purchase...responsive to questions, fair, and not pushy. Had an issue with a door not latching immediately after the purchase...he and the team at Preferred worked to make sure it was addressed, and that everything was made right. Would use and recommend for future purchases. Thanks!
