Avoid Like the Plague

STAY AWAY! Grab some popcorn, this is a good one. I'm in the market for a new used car and thought I'd check out Apple Shakopee because I live close. I go online, fill out the "pre-approval", and soon after, I'm contacted via text message (which I think is actually awesome) asking me about which car I was interested in. Soon after, I'm contacted by a sales associate (who I'll call SA). SA sends me a message asking how much I would be putting down. I tell him that and that I'd like to test drive the car. He responds that once I "provide them" with documents and a down payment, THEN I could schedule an appointment. This should have made me walk away from this place and is the most absurd thing I have ever heard of when wanting to buy a car. I unfortunately, did not. I send in the documents as I really am interested in getting the car. They run my credit (remember this, it'll be important later) and I get a message from the Finance guy (who I'll call FG), saying that I'll hear back in the morning. I get another message from SA who says it'll be two days because he is off work the next. So now, I have to wait on a SA, who mind you, has done NOTHING to sell a car but send me two texts, to have his day off. I again ask to test drive and I'm met with silence. Two days later I get a message from SA saying that I have "final approval". I STILL have not test drove this car. Finally, after saying that I would come in, I demand to test drive the car, and finally get the chance. I get back and I tell them that I'll take it and to get the paperwork ready and I'll come the next day to pay a down payment and sign. I'm told they already have the paperwork ready. (Hint: they don't). After waiting 20 minutes, SA comes to me and asks if I have my Social Security card on me. I do, but it's in bad shape and hard to read. He comes back and says "the bank" can't read it and won't approve my loan (the same one that already had "final" approval) and there is nothing they can do. I leave, bummed out but oh well. 10 minutes later SA texts me and says "to clarify", they have the wrong SSN. Really? But you pulled my credit just 3 days prior! My SSN didn't change in the last 3 days. I give them my SSN over the phone and not 30 seconds later, they pull my credit, AGAIN, with different lenders! Final approval my... I go back, and am still going to sign, I don't know why. SA proceeded to argue with me, telling me that I gave them the wrong SSN. Seriously? Even if I WAS the one to screw up, you really have to be right? I'm waiting another 20 minutes for FG and in this time, I'm just stewing about all the lies and deceptions. I tell them that my gut is telling me to not do this today, and I left. I sent them a message later on asking one question. Why should I buy my car from Apple Shakopee? Wanna know their answer? So do I. They wouldn't answer a simple question about why. That's all they had to do to sell a car. There is a reason they couldn't answer, it's because they don't know. I tell them that I am never going to come back to their dealership and in some perverse game of theirs, they send me 2 messages. One saying that someone else was showing interest in the car I had wanted and the other saying that they "hope to see me again soon". What. A. Joke.

While I am happy with my vehicle purchase, customer

While I am happy with my vehicle purchase, customer service doesn't seem important to them. Called to let them know my concern, and guess how they responded...they didn't!! First time buying a vehicle from them and likely the last. Haven't decided yet which Ford dealer I'll go to for my service.
