Now to Charles Gabus Ford and how they did as a Ford dealer here in the Des Moines, Iowa area. My personal experience with this deal for the new 2019 F-150... Lariat was a fun and good experience! I will have to say that at the beginning I just wanted to see if the radio that was an option on the Lariat was worth the extra money to move up to the Lariat from the XLT to get this radio. This radio is a (Bang an Olfson) sp.! For me it was. By making that decision I loss out on the company?s larger rebate in the thousands on the XLT model and not to say the lower window price for that XLT truck. As for all of the other upgrades on the Lariat they are nice and I like them but it was the radio that made the deal for this truck. There were some other things I wanted on the truck but all were able to be had on an XLT truck. Those other things are on this Lariat. They are a 36 gallon tank and a remote start along with an engine block heater plus the driver outside mirror that dims. Ford I guess is smart to not let this radio be an upgrade to the XLT model of truck. It makes them more money by doing that. I still question that some. I wonder just how many more XLT model trucks they would sell if the XLT could have this radio on it. I guess Ford decided that it was better for Ford to go the way that they did. Who am I to question Ford as to what was better for Ford to do for Ford. As for me I believe I would have saved more money if Ford had let this radio be put on to the XLT model truck. This is my opinion only and I also know that other upgrades also came with the Lariat but Most of those I could do without them! Charles Gabus Ford the dealership and the making of the deal for the new truck with the trade of my super duty F-350 diesel truck. I believe I got a reasonable deal on it as a trade in. I believe Charles Gabus Ford knew from my talk with my salesman that the rebates on the XLT F-150 2019 models was important to me along with the radio I liked. They made an offer to sell the 2019 F-150 Lariat at a price that came so close to what the rebates would have been on the XLT truck without all of the upgrades that the Lariat F-150 had, that I could understand that those number were really about as low as they could go and still make some money. I did have some question as to the amount Charles Gabus Ford said, what my 2013 Super Duty Diesel Crew Cab truck was worth that only had 27000 miles on it and looked as good as it did new! It did have one fault that I told them about and that was it had a bad right hand side mirror that needed fixing! The cost for me or you to have it fixed would have cost $1,600.00 just for the new part. Then about one hour of labor at a dealer. I know that for the dealer that cost would have been about half that cost! That was where Charles Gabus Ford and I had a discussion about the price needed on my trade-in to make the deal work for me and the dealership! We did come to a reasonable price for both of us! That is obvious because if it had not happened that way I would not be writing this review on both the Dealership and my opinions of the Ford Truck as a Lariat model as opposed to an XLT truck. In the end this Dealership of Charles Gabus Ford was one of the best Dealership I have ever worked with. I say that because it never was a hard pitch, high pressure atmosphere. I was always treated with respect and they always listened to what I was saying and why I thought we were not agreeing on the price for the trade-in. In the end we both came to an agreement on the price. The thing about that was not ones did Charles Gabus Ford acted like it was a Take It or Leave It Offer. They always wanted to work with me to make this deal work! The power is with buyer. If no deal is made. Buyer will have the money. The dealership will have the vehicle. Point is, the money is wanted in the end. The buyer will have the money. The dealer will have the vehicle. Without the money the dealer could go broke the buyer will not!

I went in for a regular oil change. Before i went i had no other problems with the car. After the oil change i get it back and find that my brakes hardly... work. I brought the car and told the Tech and his Supervisor what happened and they immediately denied that it was something that they did before even investigating it. They said that they just changed the oil and did nothing with the brakes. It must be a coincidence they said. My thought is that the brakes worked perfect when i got there and they did not when i picked the car up. The odds that something like that would happen naturally during the 50 min or so that they had it and werent even driving it have to be very very very slim. It was no random coincidence. I dont know how they managed it but i am sure they did something to it. I have gotten a car there in the past and service done since but after this experience i can say that i will never go back to Charles Gabus Ford.
