Let me test drive a truck that had no brakes.

Let me test drive a truck that had no brakes. Almost wrecked. Told them if they fixed it we have a deal. They immediately took it in the shop and rushed parts in. So I was told. Finished paperwork and signed all documents. Insured the vehicle with money out of pocket. Only to be told after repairs made i was no longer approved for financing with carmax. So now carmax has a vehicle Insured by me and I don't know who's driving it. My attorney should be pleased with this event.

Had a negative experience with Carmax after going through

Had a negative experience with Carmax after going through the entire buying process and finding out that they only take cash, check or debit card for a down payment . Never heard of a dealership not taking a credit card as a downpayment . Oh well , Carmax has lost my business .

I have bought many cars from dealers and individuals and I can say that CarMax doesn’t disappoint. We test drove the car and purchased it and drove it off the lot in less than an hour!

Awful experience

The Pathfinder we bought started belching smoke, thankfully only days after purchase, so still within the 7 day period. We returned it and their mechanics were stumped, so they sent it over to the Nissan dealership. Sludge in the engine (which we later found out was metal shards). So much for their thorough inspection of vehicles. We found another comparable vehicle which we arranged to be sent from Georgia. Or so we thought. Waited and waited. Called Carmax and were told, "Oh, it will be here soon." Called again a few days later to find out someone else bought the car! Would not make any concessions to make this right, to offer us a similar vehicle at a similar price. Then it took repeated attempts to get our refund. A nightmare from beginning to end. Bought from the Nissan dealer and had a much better experience!

LIARS

CARMAX GREENVILLE SC: since it will be a long review i make it fast for people who just wants a quick opinion: they lie: make sure to ask about any part that may have been replace (if so the serial number is not on it anymore) , if the car got in any accident, have a second opinion with other dealers about the price/ car they gave you ! ) DON'T think the name CARMAX = safety! ask to have the car check on every aspect (under also (very dirty and dusty) because LOTS OF LIES !! so : I bought a car 18 months ago : a toyota yaris from 2007, it was 86 000miles and I paid it 9500 $ i told them i wanted a safe and cheap car since i would sell it less than 2 years(VISA expire date ) after but they had nothing less expensive. I went there because i thought it was safer to go to a big company. so now (18 months later) i need to sell it: and they offered 2000$ first (then few hours later 3000$): i've add exactly 10 000 miles (so it's still less than 100 000 miles) HOW CAN THE PRICE DROP THAT MUCH ? form 9500 to 3000? moreover they never told me the car was involded in an accident (which i discovered thanks to other car dealers) they replaced some parts of the car (the truck by example) and didn't say anything about it (i wondered why my keys didn't work to open the truck and they told me it was because it was not the original keys)= LIES. I can keep going on about all the lies : they told me they give such a low offer because they don't sale car more than 10 years old, i went on their website : cars from 2008 (1 year different than mine), we are in 2020 ... so they do sale cars more older than 10 years old. Less than 2 months after buying the car i pressed the breaks stronger since two car almost got into an accident in front of me: my car did a whole turn on itself (didn't touch anything or anyone luckily) and then the ABS light turned on ... Suspicious .. Anyway i don't want anyone to loose as much so be extremely careful with them and... i guess other dealers too :)

Car Buying Can Be Fun

Raphael Tucker was amazing to work with while I was buying my car. From the first time he called to talk to me about the idea of buying a car he was professional, caring, and kind. Then when I was test driving cars and asking a million question he was patient and reassuring. By the end of the experience I had fun working with him and LOVED how Carmax takes care of people. I will forever be a Carmax buyer and I will totally be seeing Raphael Tucker again. Can't wait to tell everyone I know to go see Raphael Tucker.

Car Buying Can Be Fun

Raphael Tucker was amazing to work with while I was buying my car. From the first time he called to talk to me about the idea of buying a car he was professional, caring, and kind. We Will Never Go Back!

My wife and I had just finished dinner at 9:pm and were discussing a new SUV. We went to the Greenville facility at 9:20pm and literally walked 2 isles, didn't even try to open any doors. Security came over the speaker and told us to leave the premise immediately! "You in the orange shirt" and another potential customer had driven up and was looking at trucks and over the speaker they say "In the white van...were closed.. Leave the premise immediately!" Neither he nor myself left very happy! We purchased a new $53k vehicle the next day from Sitton Buick who didn't mind us looking on their lot at 9:40pm I think if you don't want people looking at cars, you should put up a fence. I will never step foot on a CarMax lot or open another CarMax website other than to leave a negative review!!!!!!!

We Will Never Go Back!
