Don't trust them

These guys sold me a car that was throwing transmission codes (P0702, etc)...I thought it felt a little like it was slipping on the test drive, but figured I'd bring it to my mechanic to be sure it wasn't just my imagination. The first clue that these guys weren't above board is that they wouldn't let me take it until I bought it...but they do have a 5 day return policy. Since I knew I could get my mechanic to look at it in a couple of days, I took a chance and bought it. On his test drive, he said the same thing that I had felt...rumble, vibration, slipping when changing gears. He hooked up his scanner and there were the codes. So, I went to return it and that went off without a hitch, though the manager did tey to get me to have them service it. Since the problem was pre-existing and they would have seen it just by hooking up a scanner I didn't really trust that option. So I gave them their care back, assuming they would fix it now that they knew what was wrong with it (even though I suspected they already knew when they sold it to me). Here's where it gets interesting: I only had one of the two keys with me, so I returned the second one the next morning. On a hunch, to see if they could actually be trusted, I went out to look on their lot. Sure enough they had put that damned car with a bad transmission that was only going to get worse RIGHT BACK OUT ON THE LOT!!! They tried to tell me it was because there was a recall, but the only recall on the vehicle was for a door latch issue. The Carmax dealership at Easton in Columbus cannot be trusted. In particular stay away from a blue 2012 Ford Focus SEL. And if they'll turn around and sell that the next day knowing it's bad, they'll do the same to every other car on their lot.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Shawn McMahan is an awesome person. I came into the dealership twice looking for a car. My first visit was unsuccessful because I did not have the down payment. Shawn was incredibly understanding with my situation and tried very hard to get the lowest down payment possible. Once I found the car, I told him that I would be back in a few weeks with the down payment. He touched base with me once, but wasn't pushy and seemed genuinely concerned about my situation. On my second stop in, again, it seemed that the odds were against me. He went above and beyond to insure that I left with a car. I would HIGHLY recommend him to any of my family members and friends. Thanks again, Shawn, from the bottom of my heart!

AWESOME! REPEAT CUSTOMER!

Bought my car about three years ago from Vince at Easton. We had such a positive experience that my husband bought his truck last year. In between, I suggested to my mother that she call Vince and buy her car, she did, and was very satisfied with the car, Vince and the entire process. A few months ago, my sister needed a car....yep....called Vince and now she is driving an awesome, like new car! Of course she is just as satisfied as the rest of us were! By the way, we live almost two hours away from Car Max Easton. Worth the trip! Whenever I am ready to trade, I will be calling Vince! As a matter of fact, I was very surprised to see anything other five star reviews. None of us had even one complaint.

takes a car from another location.

The customer service was great, I have to say the salesman was great and patient, I purchase a sub that day, I got it home and after looking at the car next day and the car much dirtier then I thought, I had mentioned to the salesman the car was dirty, he stated they do not clean them until they r sold, after I purchased the sub he stated they would clean it now, well it came back it did not look any better at that point I was not happy with the sub, took it home next day brought it back, since they have five day return , we found another sub on line and had it brought in, It looked great and clean, I BOUGHT it now very happy, the cars at other location or have the car brought in, cars at Easton for what ever reason r dirty the clean up guy there sucks at there job, but Dan the salesman was great

feel like I was taken for a fool

When I had purchased my car I added on the extended warranty with the $0.00 copay. I have taken it in before for other issues and everything has been fine was well taken care of. Even though due to my work schedule I had to drop car off the night before service and pay a deposit for the rental until the authorization came through for the warranty group the following day I was ok with so I didn't have to miss work. I had got an oil chance else where and explained I was hearing a noise with the wheel and tire and they would look at it and said to take it to the dealer and have them look at the ball bearing. This time when I take it to Carmax the personnel were very nice however after looking at the car they said that the sound was due to ice buildup. (it has been very cold and not above 25 for several days so I though ok it may be possible) They also said they let it melt drove it around again and didn't hear the noise anymore. I think ok maybe that really fixed it... long story short. The sound is still there though more quiet than it was and they charged me more than $50 for "diagnostic" which was really melting the ice then because that isn't covered under the warranty (and a wheel bearing is covered) I had to pay for the rental. If I had a garage with heat or it would have got warm enough outside they couldn't claim this ice was the problem. So in reality they charged me for my car to sit there and melt

I was approved for a loan through Roadloans for a decent...

I was approved for a loan through Roadloans for a decent interest rate. I called CarMax a recommnded stealership. I spoke with a nice salesman and he convinced me to let them run a credit App so they could get me a better rate. They couldnt...I Charged $649 on my credit card to have a car transfered to within an hour of where I live. After a week I called and inquired about the car and they had not even assigned a shipper yet. In the mean time I pulled a Car Fax on the vehicle instead of the AutoCheck and learned that the car was a Theft recovery. Being uncomfortable with that I called and cancelled the transfer. I was told it would take 14-21 Business Days to get my money back because the salesman entered it as a Check and not a Credit Card. In the meantime, I was out the $649 to put down at another dealership. Without enough money to put down it took me 15 days to come up with enough to meet the payment and downpayment requirements to purchase another vehicle. I went to the new dealership today and was told that they dealt with Santander Bank all the time and could get the interest rate down abit. Wrong. When they went to process the packet from Roadloans, they were told because it was a few days before the expiration date of the approval they would have to pay a fee and there wouldnt be enough time to process the packet. They declined without informing me. They went on to get an approval through another bank for 6% more interest, $100 more a monthly payment because they wanted to sell me Gap Insurance and a warranty. I called Roadloans and was told I would have to re-apply because Don Wood Ford had my approval cancelled. I did and was approved for a lesser purchase price, Higher down payment and Interest rate. All because these so called Stealerships pulled many inquiries and lowered my credit score 15 points. I called Don Wood back today and told them I had a new approval and they wouldn’t even lower their price after screwing me over. Thanks Stealerships, My driveway is empty and 21 days later still out my $649. Had Carmax not ripped me off for the $649, I would have been able to by a car before my approval expired.

My first car buying experience

They had the only Subaru Legacy in the area with less than 90k miles and it was the perfect color, but there was a small dent in the passenger door and the cupholder divider was missing. The finance application is done online and is automated so I needed a cosigner even though I make $30k a year now, and although I originally passed, they changed some info after I provided proof of income which required me to put more down or get said cosigner. I knew more about the car than the sales person and he asked me the same questions 5 or 6 times. The business office was very helpful, though.

dirty BMW X5

This should be shown at its best for a used exspensive vehicle, the inside looks dusty and dirty the tires are dry with no shine. the seats are leather and they look a little dirty and the carpet and mats as well. This is the suv that I want to purchase..if shown in its real beauty you would have had aa buyer....clean those cars. ;-(

Not impressed

when i got to the dealership the vehicle i wanted and told the salesman was being shipped out that morning so i was unable to look at it. also the vehicles all looked dirty on the inside. i looked at an h3 and it was nasty and just flat out dirty. the trade in amount they were going to give me was so low that i did not even bother looking for another vehicle.
