a typical cheesy used cars place

Went to see a "low mileage Chevy Trailblazer", stock# MM8104. A sales guy announced that it was "sold yesterday", and pointed to a pile of garbage saying "we have another one, just like that you wanted". Two weeks later the "low mileage" one is still listed as "available" on cars.com.

This customer is sadly mistaken. He was not here 2 weeks ago. He was here on 5/6/2014, today's date is 5/8/2014. Stock #MM8104 was sold and delivered on 5/6/2014. In fact, the vehicle and the actual buyers were here on 5/6/2014 signing the papers when this customer arrived, We told him that it was sold, showed him some other vehicles and he left. The vehicle was removed from Cars.com earlier today. The car he wanted was a very nice car and we're sorry for his disappointment but First-Come-First-Served.

No contact, bad car

Purchased a 1998 Buick, sight unseen, with less than 68,000 miles on it. I have owned several of these cars and they are usually great. Dealer claimed there "wasn't a scratch" on the car and it ran great so I took it. Friendly on the phone when taking my payment of course. Received the car and it was filthy, beat up, with the most scratched up paint job I have ever seen. Looks like it was washed with steel wool, and I am not exaggerating. Took 3 weeks to send me the title, did not respond to my emails asking where the title was and why. Four weeks after delivery, engine threw a rod, now needs a totally new engine. Awful awful awful experience. Be patient and find a car elsewhere. Avoid this place at all costs.

Very good Experience ...

Ok this place is pretty awesome but you must be aware of a few things before going.... They sell USED cars. From what I understand a good chunk of their inventory comes from cars that get donated to charity. That means most of what they have is something someone no longer wanted. A lot of the cars are not pretty or have high miles. If you don't mind cosmetic imperfections and know the durability of a particular brand then this is a good place to shop. Do your homework! This also means you may really find that car owned by a little old lady, or in our case, a little old man. Take your time and look around. We went on gorgeous Saturday morning and they were busy. The salesman Tony was very helpful without being pushy. No one tried to fast talk us or force us to buy anything. I like that! I also liked that whenever we showed interest in a vehicle, Tony seemed to be right there to get the keys. We test drove about four cars and again, we were never pressured or hurried. We were about to leave when we spied the vehicle we ended up buying. A Blue Ford Taurus. It had just come in and was awaiting the shop inspection. I was immediately interested but they won't release any car until their mechanic had checked it over. We asked if we could go to lunch and come back to test drive. They said yes and we did. It was a sweet car. We negotiated a bit and found a price we could agree on. Very smooth buying process with a lot of laughs. Would I send a friend here? Depends on the friend! Their inventory and NYC/NJ style is not for everyone but suited this Brooklyn born Jersey gal just fine! The humor is a little risque and if a few swear words are going to offend your delicate sensibilities this is not the place for you. If you are looking for cheap transportation that will get you away from a car payment for a bit like I was then they will likely have something to suit your needs. There were no lies or false airs put on about anything on their lot. About the gas rebate....it's a card you get and you have to collect receipts for gas. You have to go to specific stations (brands) then, collect $100.00 in gas purchases, mail it in and you will get back $25.00 You can do this up to four times. I have not read the rest of the terms and conditions but forget the gas rebate thing. It's not the reason you should go. I would return and do business here again.

Thank you Chris for the good review, we aim to please and we're glad we could make you smile. Tony has many years of experience working with people and he loves to make people laugh. He really enjoys his job and it shows. As for the Gas Rebate, you can do it 8 times, so don't miss out on it. Best Regards, Joe

Hi Oma, This is the second email I've received recently telling me that we haven't replied to an email. I just searcehd through all of my emails for this month, 422 in all and have found no email from you. I'm not doubting that you've sent it, I'm just wondering if it was sent to the correct email address. I'll check with my internet service provider to ensure that we're in fact getting all of our email. I welcome a toll-free call from you at 1-866-906-5286, or you can call directly to 732-303-1720. Please contact me. Best Regards, Joe

Didn't even get past the inquiry smh

I wasn't sure whether or not to believe the reviews I saw on the website, so I thought I'd check it out myself. I submitted a request on there website and I asked to be emailed with more information. It has been two weeks now and no one has called or emailed me about the vehicle I was interested in. Too bad for them I guess, will take my money some place else.

Hi Shameka, I never received an email from you, I keep all of them in Outlook and I've searched all emails for a month. Are you sure that it was sent to the correct email address? You gave us a one star rating without any contact or even setting foot on our lot. Don't you think that's a bit harsh? I welcome a toll-free call from you. 1-866-906-5286. Respectfully, Joe

Great Program and Great Listeners

I had very little money to put down for a vehicle and the guys at MM made it possible for me to get myself into a new vehicle and no time and have me up and running. I was in a crunch and I needed a vehicle asap seeing as i commute to work. These guys are the best and i would refer them to everyone whose looking.

Thank you so much for the glowing review and we're very happy that we were able to help you. Though we're in the business of selling cars, we like to think that we're in the business of helping people whenever we can.

Buyer Beware

I bought a care there which broke down after a couple of days of use. The dealer took a look at the car and determined it needed a new engine. After I paid them to replace the engine. I picked up my car and they check engine light was on and the car shook and made knocking noises all the way home. They sell as is junk cars. The customer service is terrible. After I took the car to a reputable dealer for diagnostic testing I was told that the only thing that was new was the water pump and the engine was never fixed. I have to take legal action because I believe they charged me for a repair that they did not fix. The owner/manger is rude and they sell junk and didnt fix the car. The dealership I took my car to be diagnosed told me the car needed 2500 in repairs. The car didnt even cost that much. So they sold me a junk car after assuring me that the car was fine at the time of purchase and then saying the car would be fine when I paid them to replace the engine. THE CAR WAS NEVER FINE! BUYER beware. Do yourself a favor and save a little more and go to a place that has better cars!!!!......and staff that car about the quality of their products

Dear Scottie D: I have no record of contact from you. Would you please be so kind as to call me about this? (Toll Free) 866-906-5286 Thank you. Joe

Scummy

They lie about the odometer reading on cars. Some cars only have up to 5 digits on their odometer (so it only goes up to 99,999). Instead of listing a car that has "rolled over" or gone past 99,999 (thus resetting to 0) as the correct listing, they just put the new mileage on the rolled over odometer. For example, they currently have a 1992 Ford Tempo GL listed as 39,575 miles instead of 139,575 or 239,575 and their listing says "LOW MILES!!!" as if that's accurate. That's just one example of their deceit so you should wonder what else they lie about. Please fact check any and all information they provide and have a mechanic triple-check the vehicle if you do decide to go through with purchasing from this dealer.

This car was an orignal, one-owner car. The owner claimed that the odometer was not rolled over. We ran an Auto-check, (similar to Carfax), on the car to verify his claim. The report returned a PERFECT SCORE and confirmed the previous owner's statements about the car. This vehicle was never involved in an accident, was never used for commercial purposes and is everything it seems to be. We'll be happy to provide the report to anyone who asks for it. We base our comments about our vehicles on facts only.

Decent Car, Cheap Price very accomodating

Bought a late model taurus, runs great & passed inspection. I was treated very well even though I had a (very) limited budget. I'm very happy and will reccomend them to my friends. If you're looking for quality cars under $2000 there is no better place to buy. They have many to choose from.
