These guys refused to perform a Factory TCTO safety

These guys refused to perform a Factory TCTO safety recall on my Buick. Claimed the exact issue described by the Recall didn’t apply to this car even though same problem stalling out due to bad fuse box. The service rep was all about the military until it came time to help. Don’t buy from any dealership near a base.

Stand behind their product

I purchased a used Honda. I was informed by the City Motors salesman , when I questioned the multiple owners on the CarFax , that most likely they were military personnel relocating. I was a bit skeptic at this response. First off, the alternator was replaced at no charge to me. I first tried to work something out with the salesman who sold me the car, which was to no avail. Pam's sister Sharon, in public relations, was the reason that it was done at no charge. Approximately 6 months later my car was deemed not drivable. I took it to a service shop in Chinook, where the owner had found a 34 page service bulletin regarding the motor and frequent spark plug replacement. Unfortunately, the extended warranty outlined in the service bulletin did not apply to my vehicle because it was older than 8 years, which was the life of the extended warranty. I was advised that my vehicle would not be useful for cross country driving, which was the reason I purchased it. Pam, City Motors public relations representative was a Godsend in the entire process of resolving the issue. City Motors service department worked with American Garage in Chinook, to determine the issue diagnosed by by the garage. While City Motors did not buy the car back at full price, they did pay for the service bill and approximately 70% of what I paid for the vehicle. Pam is a rock star, as is City Motors service department who worked with American Garage in Chinook. American Garage in Chinook provides impressive service. Their astute diagnostic skills were also the reason the car was bought back. It took a lot of tenacity on my part , but City Motors did stand behind the car, when the issue got in the hands of Sharon , Pam and the service department. Leslee Weber

Triple check before buying used vehicle

Never, never buy a used car from this dealership without having it thoroughly checked out by a third party mechanic. They don’t check the mechanical integrity of the car before sending it off the lot with a handshake and “we’ve checked it all out and it looks good.” Less than 30 days after purchasing our car we noticed it have compression issues on hills etc. We took it to a local mechanic and it had a cracked head. Definitely something the dealership should have notice upon inspecting the car they had taken as a trade in. The problems continued, possibly results of prior owner not getting recall work done (also something dealers should have checked on before assuring us the car was in excellent mechanical condition). We have spent thousands of dollars over the last 12 months and not been able to drive it 5 of those months. The dealerships only response, “We don’t have a crystal ball.” They also have no integrity, no desire to check cars before sending them off the lot, and no desire to work with the consumer to make it right. Just a “make a quick sale” agenda. Basically the dealership took in a lemon and pawned it off on us, pocketing their profit.

Amy, I am sorry for what you have been thru following the purchase of your vehicle from us, and we would like to try to rectify it. I have spoke to numerous persons here at the dealership and would like to get a couple of things from you if at all possible. Do you have the repair orders and receipts of the work you have had done on the vehicle and would it be possible to email me a copy of them? Also, can you tell me if the vehicle is fixed? I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you so much.....Pamela Weiss

Will not buy from them again!!!

I have bought two vehicles from City Motors and this last one will be my Last from them. The first one I bought was a Silverado and half hour after driving it off the lot we had to take it back because the brakes were going out. They had my Silverado for a week before I got it back. This year I bought a used terrain from them and two days later I’m back up there because of the power steering. I realize I am buying the car used but they claim the vehicles are check over before they go on the lot. I beg to differ after two of my vehicles went right back. This time they won’t work with me at all. I would definitely really check their vehicles before buying from them.

Lazy salesman

I give the service department 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆ for doing such a great job on my oil changes and maintenance over the years. But.... today we went in to buy a new vehicle and the dealer was not interested in selling anything today. Maybe he was tired or something who knows! Still some effort should of been put into selling to us. He did let us test drive the vehicle we went to buy, which I appreciated. We did have to ask to test drive it and the look he gave us was not happy. (It was completely out of gas and we had to put some in or we would of been stranded on the side of the road! ) Maybe he saw us and didnt realize how serious we were about purchasing) He didnt ask us any questions that is normally asked when a dealer wants a sale ie....like trade Ins or even give us a business card.... We got no questions and no negotiations! We wont be buying in Great Falls and it's sad as we try to keep our business here. I give the dealer part of city toyota a 1 star ☆. Bozeman toyota has been in contact with us and seem like they want our business so we will be going there.

Buyer Beware

I purchased a used vehicle from City Motors without a warranty. The car no longer runs with less than 1000 miles I put on it since I purchased it in December. I live over 80 miles from the dealership but must pay the towing charge to bring it in. The dealership gave me a new battery, which I requested within a week after purchase because the indicator light went on. Once the cold weather hit the car stopped running. Three wonderful employees and the owner of Dry Fork Ag, outside of Conrad worked on getting it started. Once ‘charged’ I went in to drive it home and it quit. After two and a half hours of these employees trying to get it running, it ran just enough to get it seven miles home. Once home, I left the car idling to charge up (the new battery) . The vehicle killed after 10 minutes. The next day my daughter attempted to jump start it with our 3500 Ram. Again it did not start. I am aware I purchased a vehicle ‘as is’ and without a warranty. This is the legal hinge City Motors is using to not correct the issue. Yes, they said they would look at it again but I would have to drive it to Great Falls. How do I drive a car that won’t start? They will reimburse me for gas but the rest is to diagnose and repair the vehicle is at my expense. I believe it is dangerous to drive an unreliable vehicle 80 miles because a large towing expense is not in my monthly budget. But City Motors will reimburse me for gas . Such a generous offer! I am a well educated woman with a BA and two MAs but not wealthy, possibly a well educated fool. I have owned the car since December 9, 2020 and it sits in my driveway unable to start. Possibly I would be treated differently if I were well off financially. I write this review so others don’t experience the same economic hardship. If I was able to give a no star rating I would. One of my degrees is in Business. This is ethically bad business treating a customer in this fashion. Leslee

Leslee Per our conversation yesterday, I have arranged for your vehicle to be towed into Great Falls so we can perform further diagnostics. Based on what we find, we will repair the vehicle or provide you with other options which will hopefully bring you satisfaction. I will monitor the situation and communicate with you accordingly. THEY LIED

I am at extremely high risk of dying of I get COVID as I am 66, Diabetic, Have Cancer and a semi auto immune illness thus I called City Motors BEFORE GOING IN!!! I asked if their employees wear masks or gloves. I was told NO Gloves, but that ALL employees wore masks. I did explain my situation as to why it was imperative that I not go around people without masks and was again told that ALL employees wore masks and I would be perfectly safe to go in there. We then went there as we were assured that ALL employees wore masks and we would be safe. I was blatantly lied to. Not one solitary employee had a mask on.... not inside the building nor outside!!!! If their business practice is so dishonest over something this dangerous and deadly I have no doubt that their other business practices are dishonest as well. I will never ever buy a car from them nor will I do any type of business with them. Their lies put my life at risk. I also will NEVER recommend them to anyone.

Rich Made Car Shopping a Pleasant Experience

I came into the show room ready to have an adversarial relationship with a salesman, the usual hard sell, pressuring and sneaky tactics. Instead, I got a kind soul who simply gave advice about shopping for cars, was fine with me selecting the test route, and was concerned about making sure I had a positive experience. The price on my trade value and the new car were somewhat inflexible, but that is because of their no-haggle pricing which gives their sales team license to actually be humans. I would certainly buy from them.

2018 Camaro SS!

We went in to buy a new SS Camaro for my wife. Luckily we got Tim Starkey for our salesman. He showed us the car we wanted and described the features I wasn't aware of. No pressure or games from Tim. We danced a little working on the price I wanted and we got within $500 of the number my wife and I discussed ahead of time. Once we got to the buying part, the part we all hate, Tim walked is through and made sure we understood the process and that there was no hidden fees and no gotchas in the end. If you're looking for a car, City is a good place. If you buy a car, ask for Tim Starkey!
