Brought my Raptor in for a tranny service, and rear...

Brought my Raptor in for a tranny service, and rear differential service with bearing seals and drive shaft seal leaking. They literally had the truck all day and when I called at 4pm just check on it they still hadn't gotten it in the shop. So, mechanic Kyle spent about an hour on it all and when I got it back theres a ton of air in the coolant system with a leaking lower radiator hose (which was only a year old)! I was preparing for a relocation to Alaska so this truck need to be serviced by competent mechanics not shop clowns. The service manager Mike talked me into a recall software update that wound up causing tranny codes. Gus Johnson Ford in spokane found that the tranny fluid was over filled by 2.5 quarts, the rear bearing seals were still leaking and the differential pinion lock nut was seated wrong and may have pinion gear damage! Because of my trip I had to replace them. Turns out missoula ford doesn't actually pull the covers off of the tranny or differential. All they do is suck out the old and fill in new. This is garbage service as we pay for more then a 10 minute job! Preventative maintenance at Missoula ford cost me an extra 2k. Not to mention their incompetent tech Kyle kept my locking lug nut key. So basically I was set up to be in the Yukon with flat tires I cant fix, tranny codes, a rear differential blow out and leaking radiator hose! THANKS LITHIA FORD IN MISSOULA! Service manager Mike did a "investigation" because he was upset that another dealer showed me the incompetence of his mechanic, and he was able to get the manager at gus johnson to change the story to cover his shops arse! Chicken shizzle! After there GM Shane told me on the phone the he is man enough to take the black eye on his service if its legit! How can you prove it if Mike working the back door influence on other managers to release themselves from fault? After 2k more I'm still dealing with tranny codes! Stay away from these guys, they have over worked and under paid pissed of clowns working in back that will sabotage your vehicle even if your planning a 2400 mile drive! And, when you have evidence they screwed up they will find ways to twist it around! Oh, and when Shane gets on here and says anything about this experience don't believe a word from this guy! He said he would own this incompetence knowing his manager sleaze ball Mike would pressure the service manager at Gus Johnson (who was out sick all week) to make up some bs.

Dealer response

Again we are sorry for the issues you've experienced. We have reimbursed you for what was found to be an unintentional mistake fixed by another dealer. We are sorry you continue to experience issues with your Raptor that you've stated other dealers are having issues fixing. Unfortunately it appears we we're unable to remedy your issues to your satisfaction. We wish you the very best in the future and apologize for failing your expectations. All the Best! Consumer response

You did not reimburse me for the work that was not done and not completed correctly, and you guys manipulated the service manager it another dealership to change the story. A service manager that was sick the whole week my truck was in their shop! Your tech even kept my lug nut key! I gave you the option to refund me the money I paid your shop and you turned me down. Yes, I was refunded 500 bucks for the lower radiator hose "that had a pin hole in it above where the inlet for the oil cooler is". 500 bucks is something but less than half of what I paid you! Dont take it too hard, I told you I know a lot of people in that town and I'm telling everyone! Your service center will stay in business no doubt! Im just going to prevent as many people from using your service as possible! How about explaining why a rear differential service cost hundreds of dollars if all your doing is xxxxxxx out the fluid and replacing it! Explain how you can change out the tranny filter if your not lowering the pan? So, why does the tranny service cost hundreds of dollars if all your doing is xxxxxxx it out snd replacing it. How did your shop do 950 dollars worth of work in an hour? This can go on and on! Oh, where is my lock nut key? Apologies won't cut it as I was throwing codes all the way through the Yukon and now Ford won't even warranty the warranty recall work they did! Lithia owes me the cost I've paid, and should owe me so much more. Anyone reading this? I have proof of it all on paper, and the worst thing is that the dealership that caught all this is being manipulated and scrutinized for exposing it! Guess where I'll be buying my F250 this summer when I return? That is if the honorable mechanic at Gus Johnson Ford is still there and not abused!

Beware of what they don't do

Took my 2015 F150 there twice for service. The first time in a so called safety inspection they missed wiper blades that were splitting. I replaced them myself. Recently took it in and they missed a check engine light. When they handed me my truck 3 hours after I had gotten there they mentioned a mouse had chewed through wires to a sensor but they couldn't do anything about it since it was too late.

Great Service

SERVICE REVIEW My truck broke down in Kalispel during a 3000 mile trip with a nox sensor that went bad.on a Friday eve. Kalispel said 3 weeks to fix, Lithia said less than one week. Droped the truck off Sat. afternoon, had the problem diagnosed by Monday noon and repaired Tuesday afernoon. We finished our trip by train to grand Forks North Dakota on Sunday visiting the family for 3 days then returned to whitefish Thurs eve. Went to Missoula to pick up truck and everything works great. We got back home with no issues. Frank and the other service writers have my greatest respect. They gave me piece of mind during our bad predictament we were in to finish the trip. The truck is 2011 with 84,000 outside of warranty. best service ever

American made?

If it was possible to rate 0 stars I would. I bought my F150 in Feb. I got a used 2014 STX. I have had nothing but problems with this truck. I am paying an exponential amount of money a month for this truck and it is nothing but trouble. It has gotten to the point that I am SCARED to drive my truck for fear that it will break down. I have brought it in time and time again to no avail. I am past my 3 month "warranty" and have had to pay money out of my pocket many times for this truck. Said trucks transmission hose popped out 3 miles away from Garnet ghost town (you have to drive up a mountain). I had to HITCHHIKE to a gas station to get fluid. I got back to my truck only to realize that the transmission dipstick is UNDER the truck. After that instance (after MANY OTHER THINGS), I went to Ford so that they could make it right. They all but told me to kick rocks. It has gotten to the point that I am currently VOLUNTARILY REPOSSESSING my truck because I can not (WILL NOT) pay for a vehicle that will not work. This corporation will donate vehicles and money to organizations that will publicly thank them, but will do bugger all for the hard working blue collar workers that have legit problems with their vehicles. I have never been so disappointed in a vehicle, let alone an american made one that doesn't care for the consumers. I would go to a predatory lending center (deals on wheels) before I buy from ford, or offer a referral to anyone.

THE WORST DEALERSHIP I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED !!!

I WOULD HAVE GIVEN LITHIA FORD OF MISSOULA, MT. A MINUS STAR IF I COULD, OUR EXPERIENCE WAS THAT BAD. THE SALES MANAGER, WAS VERY RUDE TO ME, HE WOULD OVER SPEAK, WHILE I WAS TRYING TALK, BUT THEN WHEN MY HUSBAND WOULD TALK TO HIM, HE WAS SO NICE. THIS MANAGER HAS NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN !!! THE TRUCK WE PURCHASED, GOT HOT ON THE WAY HOME. WE CONTACTED LITHIA, WANTED OUR TRADE IN BACK. SO, TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, WE GOT OUR TRADE IN BACK. WE REQUESTED OUR DOWN PAYMENT CHECK TO BE RETURNED, LITHIA SAID, THEY WOULD MAIL IT BACK TO US. WE WAITED & WAITED THE CHECK NEVER CAME. WE CALLED & CALLED, LITHIA TOLD US THEY MAILED IT ALREADY, AFTER A WEEK OF WAITING FOR THE CHECK TO ARRIVE, WE WERE TOLD LITHIA SHREDDED THE CHECK. WE WANTED OUR CHECK BACK LITHIA KNEW THIS. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND LITHIA FORD OF MISSOULA, MT. TO ANYONE !!! THE ONLY PLUS, WAS THE SALES PERSON, JAKE COOPER, 5 STARS.

Sales Review

For the car that I ended up with, everything was a breeze. Clark was awesome, super friendly and patient. I really didn't intend to buy a brand new car but for price and the vehicle I had to trade everything worked out and left happy. Thanks again Clark.

Professional but triple the price

The Pros: Great staff and very professional. The Cons: the price was triple for my simple repair compared to two other very reputable places in Missoula. Due to corporate policy, they claimed they were not able to budge on price. I highly recommend you take your Ford or other vehicles elsewhere.
