Good customer service
I was there this past Monday 04/05/21 and I had a really wonderful experience. I would like to personally thank Josh Senovic for all the help he provided. I was there for an oil change and simple car maintenance for my 2015 Scion XB. I'm going to be honest, I really don't like going to these places because I don't understand a lot about cars. I feel like everytime I go I end up being billed for something I probably didn't really need. Not only did Josh understand this, not only was he patient and mild in working with me, he also explained the bill in great detail making it understandable and letting me know exactly what things were and why I needed them for my vehicle. I really appreciate having someone treat me with such kindness. I want Josh helping me from now on everytime I go to this Toyota. Thank you again for all the help

Overall pleased with my buying experience
I drove 2.5 hours out of state to look at/purchase a vehicle at Toyota of Merrillville in May of 2020. I had researched the vehicle (used) and the price and condition led me to drive that far. I had also researched the dealership and did have some concerns. I had read about the window etching upcharge as well as to be leery of the finance guy Ron Eckert. I dealt with salesman Courtney Hynes who I understand handles most of the online sales for the dealership. He was very laid back and friendly. This was pretty early on in the Covid crisis and he was accommodating in regards to that. I test drove a couple cars and settled on the one I had seen online. I then dealt with Aron Van Houten in finance. He was also very friendly and helpful. I had gotten a really great loan rate through my credit union and he flat out admitted they couldn't touch it. He was very understanding in me dealing with my credit union and getting the dealership the money. I did nearly walk away from the table when the window glass etching was on the vehicle. Eventually after me getting ready to walk out they waived the fee. I spoke with them in regards to the horror stories I had read of Ron Eckert and even mentioned it to the general manager Mike Bauner. As I said to them, "You're only as good as your word of mouth". I was leery being from out of state in regards to all the title and plate information being taken care of. Other than a Covid delay on the part of my state's secretary of state I couldn't have been happier with Merrillville's dealing with that. They did all the paperwork and honored everything they told me they would. I would definitely recommend dealing with Toyota of Merrillville in regards to purchasing a vehicle.

Just like any other dealership
I was a first-time car buyer and I was looking for a good deal on a car so I could afford monthly payments. Our car salesman, Mitch, was nice but was very short with us and pushy. I asked for a good deal and I was only able to get $500 off the asking price, and they were asking on the higher side of the car value. This was my first time at a car dealership so I don't have much to compare it to, but it made my car buying process very stressful and exhausting.

Great Customer Service
Mitch at Toyota of Merrillville was from their Internet department and that is how I found a car that we were interested in. Mitch followed up with me via email to confirm availability and to ask if we were still interested. I responded with the fact that we were not. The mere fact that he followed up made me consider shopping there in the future. We ended up buying a Toyota and may use them for service in the future. Mitch is the epitome of Customer Service!
I saw the exact car i was looking for online at this dealership, gave them a call and made am appointment the next day..drove over there and took the car for a test drive, its was so perfect and their customer service was so nice..they made my buying experience so easy and everything was done same day with no stress, i had a good experience buying a car there and being it my first time to finance a car they made it easy..
