I recently purchased a car from the auction and the transmission with out in the first few weeks so i called the auction and explained what happened. In speaking to the manager he made it clear that because they are an auction the cars are sold as is but insisted that he would still do all he could to help out. He encouraged me to bring my car back to the auction to confirm the problem it had. I said no at first but after getting a quote of nearly $2000 from my local mechanic i figured i had nothing to lose. The manager arranged for my car to be picked up and taking in, the car was looked over and confirmed it was a bad transmission. The manager again assured me he was do all he could to help with the cost and when he called my back I was shocked to hear that the cost of the repair would only be $700 and that the manager was able to get the original seller to help with the cost of the repair.I wasn't happy about the cost but I was very pleased with the assistance and help the auction provided. One thing i learned from this situation is to learn where I'm buying from. Buying from and auction taking a risk but if approached open minded and understanding what your getting into i think you can walk away with a decent car and have a decent buying experience. What started out as a nightmare ended with so relieve, and a 6month warranty on the transmission that was put in.

easy process
The way DPAA has things set up makes buying a car easy ans simple. Not only can you buy a car on Auction days they also allow you to come in through out the week. I was a little nervous and apprehensive at first but im glad i decided to take the time to come in. The car i purchase needed a few things to make it perfect but it was well worth the money! Thanks DPAA and dealing with Eric was fantastic !!

Great buying experience
I went to the Delaware Public Auto Auction not knowing what I was getting into but when I got there their staff was friendly and courteous. They explained in detail how the auction process worked and even allow me to purchase a car on a non auction day. The car me and my husband purchased was for our daughter and it is good on gas, safe, reliable, and best of all ....CHEAP!!!!! Def recommend to all family and friends.

glad everything worked out for you and your daughter. Buying a car at auction can be very risky at times but it sounds like you did your due diligence before purchasing and came out find. Please recommends us to all your family and friends.
Buyer Beware
Buyer beware. If the car you purchase have mechanical problems that keep it from clearing inspection, there is so much redtape that will follow. DMV will not give you an automatic extension. The Public auction will give you a lot of double talk and you will be left with a car you cannot drive. Even with receipts showing auto repairs and failed inspection papers, this company would not help. They will sell you garbage they know can not pass inspection.

The issue you are having is with DMV and not with us, unfortunately we do not create the DMV and state laws and we have to abide by them like any other person or business. We issued a 60 day temp tag and it was explained to you at the time of purchased what you were required to do before that tag ran out and if you look at the bottom of the temporary registration you will see that it says we are only able to give you one temporary tag. You have the number for DMV and its totally their decision on how they would like to proceed from here. if you have any problems please feel free to stop by the office and we can speak in person about it. thanks in advance.

Not sure exactly went wrong so I do know how to reply but please keep in mind that you are purchasing from a car auction (consigned cars) and not a dealership (owned cars). The cars are sold AS-IS but if you have a problem with one we are more then willing to assist you with getting it fixed.
Won't allow test drive
Went in to look at a vehicle, wasn't allowed to test drive it. Left right away.

Johnny, Sorry you weren't please with us not allowing test drives but because we are a "CAR AUCTION" and not a car dealer we do not own the cars therefore we do not carry the proper insurance to allow test drives. However we do allow for full inspection and a drive around our lot by our lot attendant. I apologize for any confusion and hope we have the opportunity to gain your business in the future!
The worst
I brought a car from that ran for about 3 miles. It's a been a year and they still have not released the title to me......

Auction
This is an Auction you just don't know what your gonna get. High Mileage cars and who knows what is wrong with the vehicles.

yes we are an car auction and yes some of the cars have high mileage but one of the cool things about coming to the auction is that we allow you to come in 2 hrs prior to each auction and inspect all the cars before they come through the auction lane that night. Usually if you take the time to inspect all the cars (or the ones you're interested in) you will be able to seperate the ones you feel are good for you and the ones you feel aren't. So the inspection part of the auction is probably the most important part.
