Great Experience

Had a great experience each time dealing with this company. The only thing that makes purchasing a vehicle difficult is the distance of the dealer for me.

Bought 2 cars from these guys so far..

My wife and I have bought 2 cars from European Motors in the past 4 years. We have taken our cars to be serviced by them as well. They know these cars very well and it shows when it comes to repairs. They charge a fraction of the price the Volvo dealers charges (at least the ones we visited). We had an issue with the throttle control / fuel intake. My wife and I were out of town at the time so we went to a dealership and 2 hours and $200 later they had re-programmed the cars computer but had failed to actually solve the issue. Took it to these guys and they found the issue was the fuel intake valve (I believe that was the name of it, it was a little while ago) had a build up of gunk. They cleaned it and re-installed it all for less than $100. They told us it may need to be replaced but that it was an expensive part and that it was worth trying to use the existing part. Afterwards the car worked fine! (but then it was totaled in that hail storm we had; though none of the windows blew in like many of the other 'luxury' brands we observed stuck in the same storm) They've helped us with other minor issues as well (including a bent brake shield which mostly likely was cause because I got lazy about cleaning the driveway of snow last winter since the 2004 xc-70 we bought from them scoffed at the ice and snow trying to hold it in its place). They are very honest and pleasant to do business with. (We enjoy their service so much I've even convinced them to service my 2006 Mazda3 since at least the frame is the same as some of the Volvos of the same year; they've saved me money and time with that car as well compared to local Mazda dealer. But don't tell them I told you so..) In short, these guys are one of the oh too rare bastions of honest, knowledgeable, and just plain great car service. It seems a crime if at least 1 car in your driveway hasn't been bought from them.

Thanks Dan! We appreciate your continued service business and we also love that your mom decided to get a new XC60 from us as well. Thanks again!

European Motors for Life

Nate and Aaron are like proud parents when it comes to European Motors. This is immediately seen and felt when you enter the office at European Motors. From the historical photographs on the walls, to the nostalgic roll top desk, to the precious pups that will greet you, you are assured that this isn't your average auto shop. Nate and Aaron pride themselves on running the family owned shop on the values that the shop was originally built on. Professionalism, Master knowledge, and Customer Service. I recently took my 2004 Volvo X70 wagon in for a repair. The part needed did not arrive at the shop on the day Nate expected it to. Nate immediately offered me a loaner car. The following day when I picked up my car, I mentioned to Nate I was interested in a newer wagon with low mileage, and if something came in that was the deal of the century, let me know. Nate immediately pointed to a wagon on the lot. Upon closer inspection, I loved the car, but not the pin striping. No worries. Nate had the pin striping updated. It gave the car a whole new look! Sold! Nate now has a very reliable 2004 black X70 Volvo wagon, only two owners, for sale. European Motors for Life.

Thank you very much! I enjoy seeing our customers progress through the years and nice new (to them) Volvo's.

European Motors treats you like long time friends!

Nate and his team did a great job of describing the vehicle, addressing our concerns, and assuring us of an honest, easy, long distance purchase. We had looked at several other XC90'S with similar mileage and of the same age and this was the one dealership that didn't try to hide anything, from small scratches to the history of ownership. When we need to purchase again it will certainly be from European Motors and Nate and Aaron! Well done gentlemen, God Bless!

Thank you very much Bob and Kim. We really appreciate your long distance business. And it was great to meet your pooch Lily too.

Excellent Business

Aaron and Nathan are knowledgeable and good people. They are willing to take the time to help you and answer all of your questions. They know Volvos very well which is very reassuring. I love that the cars are clean, the shop is clean, and the property is clean. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I was not even planning on buying a car but I saw this Black C30 and they had such a great price on it. I couldn't pass up a quality purchase from a quality dealer! (I had to say I was buying a car to submit this review.)

Thank you very much Dante for the kind words. It was great doing business with you and I look forward to taking care of the car for you if we can. Thanks again.

The Pinnacle of Volvo Service

Simply, Nate and his team are the hallmark of customer service and quality care. European Motors is the quintessential dealer/garage in the greater Reading area, and I can nary ponder another car service that meets (and exceeds) their lofty standards. European Motors is the benchmark for attentiveness, cost, and caliber of car and personal attention.

Matt - Thank you very much for your years of being a loyal customer. We appreciate that. Thanks again.

European Motors goes above and beyond

Under normal circumstances, I would have been hesitant to buy a used cars from a small, family owned dealership. However, the customer service that I got from Nathan and Aaron went so far above and beyond what I have gotten from any major dealership, that I was thrilled to purchase from them. I bought a 2006 Volvo XC70 from them and it is in spectacular condition! Very low miles and super clean. However, since the car is almost 10 years old, my husband asked if Nathan would consider changing the timing belt before we purchased it. He not only agreed, he changed it before we drove the car off the lot! Aside from that, they gave us a loaner car to take the kids to a playground while the repairs were being done. They were so kind and accommodating that we felt like we were buying a car from a friend rather than a dealer. My husband and I were talking since the purchase about how awesome our experience was and we both agreed that we will definitely be return customers. I can't leave off without also mentioning the dogs. European Motors has two of the sweetest shop dogs that you will ever meet! I would travel the hour and a half journey just to snuggle those beagles!

D thank you very much for the kind review. Aaron and I were very happy to take care of your family for the day. I'm glad you got such a great low mileage car that will serve you for many years. Thanks again.

Excellent customer service

Drove up from MD to purchase a replacement vehicle for my son. Insurance monies causing a delay and the entire car loan process. Nate was very understanding, held the car we were interested in and patient with the process on our end. Will buy my next used Volvo from there! Jeff L Forest Hill,Md

Great cars, great service, great people

I got to know Euro Motors nearly 20 years ago when I bought a VW Jetta for my wife. I got to know Tom Beil and loved his service, honesty and intelligence. Now Nate has the business and it keeps getting better. I purchased cars for myself, my wife and my three sons and have not had a single negative experience. All of our service needs are taken care of quickly and honestly. Nate Beil is one of those rare guys you run into once in awhile who makes you want to bring other service providers to his shop and say, "Look. This is how it's done right!"

BEWARE-Always get Dealer inspection PRIOR to sale

I found this dealer thru Cars.com advertising a 2007 Volvo XC70. I was told the car was in great condition and I went to the dealer to check it out and take a test drive. I met with Aaron and he gave me a copy of the carfax and told me he had no other info on the car. I took the car out on a drive and noticed although it drove nice, there was something not quite right. I asked to take the car to my mechanic and they said they could not do that. I asked if we could take it to a dealer and they agreed only they were with the car the whole time. They mentioned they worked with Stadel Volvo and we could take it there. I agreed. When I called back to set up a time, Nate Beil asked me why did I need to take it to a dealer? He was a Volvo Mechanic (Not a Certified Volvo Mechanic,) and he had already checked the car out and it was in great condition. I mentioned I wanted an independent assessment of the car. He stated he would prefer we take the car to Stadel so we could put the cost of the inspection on their account and we could tie everything together. Nate latter said the car was in great shape and did not need anything. On Friday 4.11, we took the car to Stadel for the inspection; This inspection uncovered a list of repairs were needed and 2 of them were major repairs: (List of repairs; LF marker bulb, LR position bulb, tag bulbs, No crank case vacuum (hose or trap) All Wheel drive inoperable. Exhaust leak @ turbo, original filter, left rear bumper retainer, fuel door hindge, air box not properly installed, oil trap hose, oil trap, intake gasket, hose clamps, hose, hose, gasket.) If Nate was so good, why did he not find the list of repairs needed to be done? I spoke with Aaron and told him I was still interested in the car, however, the major repairs were deal breakers. I wanted them to have the Turbo and the AWD fixed and I would deal with the minor issues. These were the conditions of me buying the car. Later that afternoon, I spoke with Nate and he told me he would fix the issues with the car and I could pick it up on Monday. I came to the dealer on 4.16.14. Nate and Aaron were onsite and they assured me the repairs were made and gave me a parts list of what they had done. When I went down the list of the work the dealer said needed to be done, they assured me the work was done, even the work I said I would do on my own. I asked them how can I be sure you did the work, I was told, you could see the new parts on the car. I proceeded with the sale and I was told I had a limited 30 day/1000 mile warranty on the car. In addition, they offered me an extended warranty and I had 30 days to exercise it. I drove off in the car and a week later, I noticed the brakes were squealing very loud. I called Nate and he recited the warranty policy and the breaks were not covered. I then took my car into my mechanic on 5.7.14 because I was smelling oil and we found the work Nate said he had done was not performed. The car was leaking oil at the turbo and it was causing oil to burn. My mechanic (a certified Volvo and master Saab technician) made mention the work was written up by the dealer was not done with the exception of the replacement of one hose and bulb replacement. Nothing else was touched. I contacted Nate on 5.8.14 and I informed him of the situation. He first recited the warranty policy, then went on to state he did do the work he said he was going to do. When I mentioned to him the items were not done, he mentioned the dealer info was not accurate and nothing was wrong with the car. He then went on to tell me the certified Volvo mechanic I went to did not know what he was talking about and then he offered to do the repairs, but he would not do them for free. Then he went on to accuse me of trying to extort and cheat him by making up repairs did not exist prior to buying the car and trying to get them fixed for free. He told me there was nothing else to discuss

Sonya, When you bought the car you were given an invoice from European Motors of the repairs that were performed, you read this and signed off in agreement. All of the repairs on that invoice were done. Now you are looking for additional repairs that are not listed on the European Motors invoice, but rather a "possible problem" list from the Volvo dealer. Please refer to the European Motors job ticket, and I will be happy to email that to anyone that requests it. All of the work European Motors said was done, was done. All of the car systems worked properly at the time of sale, including the AWD, turbo exhaust gasket that was leaking, and a crankcase vent hose that was broken. We have a 3rd party that can verify this, as Iezzi's Auto Service was working with European Motors on Saturday 4/12 after hours to help get all of the repairs done in time for Miss Easley. Unfortunately over the years we have found that there are just some people that cannot be happy, and I'm sorry to hear that. European Motors consistently goes above and beyond to help our customers, as you can see in the 20 other 5 star reviews here at Cars.com. Thank you.
