    I found an amazing Toyota Tundra online and the price was amazing with all the warrantees and service package that was offered. Gave me a good trade in value and I even drove 8 hours from Cleveland to get my new truck. Evan, who handles online sales was very professional and thorough with the purchasing process. My new truck was exactly what I wanted and I got even more. The cover package for the truck bed was a nice touch to the vehicle. Every time I call to ask a question from service to payments, the staff comes across very knowledgeable and make you feel like family. Thanks Mungenast Toyota

    I took my vehicle in for an important Toyota safety recall for the passenger airbag. the recall notice was sent to my home from corporate Toyota. I scheduled the appointment and took my vehicle last week to Dave Mungenast Stealership in Alton Illinois. . Following the important safety recall repair I received a "complimentary" Toyota mechanical check. The estimated amount of their highly recommended repairs was in excess of $800. Here's what they said was wrong (listed as a number) and here are the facts (listed a "Fact" and followed by an alpha (letter). 1. Mungenast Stealership: Oil is "highly discolored and appeared to not have been changed for 24Kmiles. A. FACT: I changed my oil using Synthetic oil 2 weeks ago and the oil had less than 300 miles use. 2. Mungenast Stealership: Front Brake pads were "dangerously low" and were "2-3 millimeters thick" (.078-.118). B. FACT: Brakes pads were changed by me 2 months ago and just to be sure I checked my brake pads after returning from this stealership and they checked 9mm (.335 of an inch). 3. Mungenast Stealership: Tires have "dangerously low tread and are below the tire wear tread bars (FYI - the tire tread wear are molded into the tire so one can ascertain when the tire tread is at a level indicating a need to replace the tire). C. FACT, the tires have tread remaining in excess of 3/16" or .1875/4.672 MM. The replacement recommendation is 1/16" or 1.5875MM. D. Mungenast Stealership: Front tires are wearing uneven and an alignment is required if new tires are to be installed. Bottom Line, Mungenast Stealership didn't know they were dealing with a retired mechanic with 34 years of experience. I strongly advise against anyone taking their vehicle to Mungenast Stealership unless they have intimate knowledge of their vehicle because these slimeball unethical thieves cannot be trusted. find another Toyota dealership for recall repairs even if you have to drive farther away to avoid being lied to. I might video record and document a vehicle's stats prior to taking it in for a shakedown and submitting my research to the BBB and the local new media. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Anyone rating this stealership as "good" for service is either clueless about mechanical issues, has money to burn, or is an associate of this stealership, or all of the above. I did get a nice free car wash though :)

    My husband called this location today and spoke with a salesman named AJ about a particular vehicle we were interested in. We would be driving a pretty good distance and don't have time to waste because we have to make a purchase today. He specifically asked AJ if a certain payment range would be a possibility. He was reluctant to say yes or no, because as we all know it's based on our credit and down payment to a certain extent, however, we knew that the price would have to come down just a bit for us to land in that range. AJ told us to come on in after my husband thoroughly set the expectations and asked if there was wiggle room in the price, in which we were told there was. An hour later we are in the dealership and crunching numbers. We were having a conversation with AJ and I had mentioned that if they come down a bit and we put a little more down, that the payment would work. The sales manager, Oli, interrupterd our conversation (nice guy) and basically told us that there is absolutely no wiggle room and that he will wholesale the vehicle before he drops the price any. Funny thing is, AJ said there is less than $1000 that they could come off just minutes before the sales manager said zero. Which is accurate? This would have been nice to know before we wasted 2 hours seeing a vehicle that didn't make financial sense. AJ could have easily told us this from the get-go, but instead he figured if he could get us in, he could sell a car. Very misleading and a waste of time.

    Julie runs the rental department at Alton Toyota. She treated me like family. She always takes care of me. My rental car is clean and pulled up for me when I arrive. And she has the best prices around and lots of cars to choose from. I like the fact that the rental department has clean smoke free new cars to rent. She runs her department professional. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

    This is my first review I've ever written on anything on the entire Internet. I've been to a lot of Toyota dealerships (I drive further to come to this location) and this one is my favorite as far as the customer service aspect. I consistently receive great and fast service. I feel so spoiled and Josh never gets impatient with my 101 questions; even if it is about a simple oil change. He guides me thru everything and works as someone of genuine integrity. Nothing against anyone else, But Josh was the first service rep I've dealt with and he's the one I trust 10+ visits later. Thanks Josh!! Also thank you to the one mechanic (can't remember his name) who mainly works on my truck. He does great work, a humble guy, and knows his stuff! This particular dealership is not greedy and really seems to genuinely care about the customers satisfaction and safety. Thank you!!

    I brought my 08 Rav4 in for service because it was making a squealing sound. I figured it was probably a bad belt and/or pulley, which is what they found. A couple days later they called saying the vehicle was ready so I road my bicycle 16 miles to pick it up. After I payed I hopped in the car, noticing they washed it inside and out. I turned the engine over and it was still making the sounds. So I pulled right back into the service garage and said "this sure sound fixed to m." I probably wasn't as polite as I could have been. None the less Mike Young leapt into action, he offered a free loaner car, and promised he would try to get it looked at the next day and give me a call. (if it wasn't 5 minutes before they closed I am sure he would have had it in that very day). The service team found that in addition to the belt and pulleys needing to be replaced that the alternator was also chirping. The took care of the issue and didn't charge me a penny more. I have worked in the service industry for 15 years and know how tricky and illusive problems can be, but in the end it comes down to the customer service and these guys did a great job. In the end they fixed the problem and took good care me. Thanks Mungenast Toyota, especially Mike Young

    The GM and I had come to an agreement on the price of a vehicle and confirmed that I would be purchasing the vehicle. They suggested financing through them but I already had my own financing and had the necessary funds. The dealership called the morning of the sale to let me know that they needed a deposit to secure the sale to which I agreed. Within 10 minutes of giving them my information for the deposit, they called me back to let me know that they are selling the vehicle to someone who was on their way to the dealership an offered a larger deposit AFTER I had already given them mine. They chose to sell the car to the larger deposit without even consulting me after telling me that only a minimal deposit was needed to secure the sale. The experience was very poor and the sales manager that I spoke with who explained it to me was very rude and arrogant and said that this is just the way it goes and I'll have to deal with it and find a different vehicle. The salesman was helpful but management who made the decision was extremely unprofessional and lacks a general understanding of customer service. Do your self a favor and look elsewhere before visiting this dealership. You will thank me later!!

    Jack- We are very sorry for this unfortunate incident. We totally understand why you are upset with us. We had two salespeople working on selling the same truck at exactly the same time. Both salespeople took a deposit on the truck within minutes of one another. The other customer's deposit was the first to come in. When our other salesperson came up with your deposit minutes later, we were stuck in the unfortunate situation of having to tell one of two people that we could not honor the deal that was struck minutes earlier. At that point, we could only stick by our policy and honor the first deposit received. We then made the call to inform you of the situation. We accept that this situation is 100% of our own doing. Incidents like this do not happen often here, but we sincerely apologize that this one did. We strive to offer top notch customer service to every customer who comes in contact with us.
