Aiken Honda Takes care of its customers!

Aiken Honda takes care of its customers! I had an excellent buying experience in May, 2022 with Ed MIckley. He was informative, patient, and listened to my concerns. He communicated regularly from start to delivery which got delayed due to freight backlogs. Since acquiring the vehicle, I’ve had the vehicle serviced with Aiken Honda. Today, while dealing with a defective tire issue, I was graciously given a ride home by John Kelly in Customer Service. This accommodation was especially appreciated given that my home is 20 minutes away from the dealership. As a a senior single, this impromptu service was deeply appreciated! I highly recommend this dealership

Fantastic Service

My husband and I both bought cars from Honda Cars of Aiken. Alex Berry was fantastic to work with. He was not pushy. He listened to our concerns and was very open to suggestions and changes. He made us feel like we were his only customers and it was a fantastic experience. I will always buy my cars from Honda Cars of Aiken - the customer service went far above my expectations!

# 1 when comes to salesperson

Have to say had a great experience with Carnisha , Told her what I was looking for. No fault of her’s that I didn’t buy. She tried her best. Man behind the glass room wasn’t listening. If and when I decide to buy another Honda I will go back looking for her Kudos to you Carnisha

What we have here is a failure to communicate

I was recently trying to purchase a used Honda when I contacted them online. The initial return email and phone call went great but then all was silent. I had every intent of purchasing the car but no one would return my calls or emails after my 1st inquiry. Several days later the car was removed from their online inventory so I assumed the car was sold. That's no problem I just wish they told me and returned my numerous phone calls. About a week later I was contacted by their online sales manager who stated the car was still very much for sale and I can deal with her instead of the other 2 cells agents I was working with. The car mysteriously popped back online. I am not sure what that is all about but typically a dealership Over communicates in order to make a sale. Over all I got a very badd feeling about the specific car and the dealership and decided to purchase elsewhere.

A "Lifetime" service agreement only lasts 5 years.

Purchased a lifetime service plan when I purchased the vehicle. Now I'm told it was only 5 years. "Lifetime" has a new meaning at Honda of Aiken.

That Guy

Everything wrong with car buying. We stepped in after a long day going back and forth with Gerald Jones. We were warmly greeted and promised a no pleasurable experience unlike the one we had yesterday. We got numbers for a 2018 Civic EX and after several hours of bothersome haggling we got to an agreeable price. We called our guy at Gerald Jones and he said he would beat that price on a 2019. The dealer at honda cars if Aiken was able to match the price but I still felt lied to that they were going to sell me and older car for more money had Gerald Jones not called. Terrible experience and I kind of regret that I didnt just go to Gerald Jones after all.

I was surprised

I have been taking my car to Honda Cars of Aiken ever since I moved here four and a half years ago. If I had seen the bad review four years ago, I would not have believed them. Great service for the first year or two but since then I have had a problem every other time I have taken the vehicle in for work. The most recent, and last, was over the last ten days or so. I get coupons by email, etc. I needed to have a part replaced and wanted an oil change. I called and talked to someone in the service department and waited while he pulled up my record. He said that he would check on the part price and call me back within a few minutes. No call so the next day I called and could not reach the person. After several days I tried the general manager and left a message. Then I went on a chat session and asked for the general manager's email so I could send a written explanation of the problem. The woman on the other end of the chat refused to give me his email! Can you believe it? I told her it was a complaint and I was told that unless I was more specific she could not give me the email address. Talk about great customer service. I finally called and asked to speak by name to someone who used to be listed as general manager and seemed to do a good job. I believe he is owner or one of the owners but am not sure. So, he did talk to me and said he was sorry. I thanked him for talking to me and he said that he hoped I would give them another chance. I wish I were 30 years younger. I have had Hondas for almost 30 years and figured I would buy the next one from Honda Cars of Aiken. Toyotas are beginning to look better and better. I went and got the work done somewhere else where everyone was courteous and helpful and the management did not hide from the customers.

The "service" is non-existent

I made an 4:30 appointment to get my brakes checked and before I got off the phone the guy says, "Let's make it 4:15". I agree, if I have to leave work a little earlier to accommodate you guys, okay. I arrive at the dealership at 4:14, after skipping a lunch break to get off early. I pull over to the service bay, but there are cars in all 3. So I wait. No one comes over to say anything to me. So I pull closer & decide to go inside to "check in" if I can. As soon as I get out of the car, a guy yells for me to pull into the bay closest to the building, still behind the already present car. I do. I sit. I wait. No one comes over to instruct me further. A lady whose car was already pulled in, gets out of her car & angrily starts yelling about how she's hot, no one has come over to her & the keys are in the car- she's going inside! Someone finally decides she needs attention. Fearing I'd end up sitting idly by like that lady had, in the heat & without being acknowledged I decided to go inside afterall & surely they'd inquire whose car was left hanging out of the bay when someone was free (even though there were plenty of staff- all of which, looked free). I go inside. Sit until 4:55 listening to these other ppl's horror stories from this dealership, still without being ACKNOWLEDGED at all, until I've had enough. I go outside, the service center is void of cars, except mine & still no one cared that I needed to be seen before their much talked about 5:30 quitting time! I went somewhere else but of course they couldn't see me bc of how late it'd gotten & now I'm stuck with a possible brake problem & a lot of driving the rest of the week.

Rude Reception

I left my Accord March 2016 for repair of airbag module. The female receptionist called Lynn was rude and one time she was holding my call for 15 min deliberately.

Seems a little shady in the service department

Awhile back I had a repair done to my car. Upon pickup I was told that the timing belt needed to be replaced. I let the guy know that it didnt need replacement because it was a 4 cylinder and it doesnt have a timing belt but a permanent timing chain. Recently i took it back for repairs again. This time i was told that the other belt needed to be replaced because it was frailed on the outside of it. I told the guy that I doubt it because it had just been replaced not to long ago by someone else. He then went back to the mechanic and came back to the phone and reported that I must have a after market belt on there because it looks brown. And Brown belts from Honda mean it's time for them to be replaced. So now his story changed on why he thought my belt needed replacing. I told him again that it was basically brand new. A couple days later the car was fixed (which was nice) and I went in for pickup. I had a female who was working there look at the engine and tell me that my belt looked good. I then explained the situation and told her that they as a company are making me wonder that they could be replacing all kinds of things that don't need to be replaced and charging me for it. She reported that a manager would give me a call the following day to speak with me. I then paid the $1000 repair and went home and checked out the bill a little closer. They charged me for a brand new belt and repair anyway. I called back and spoke with the same girl. She told me she would relay my situation to management and I would receive a call. It's been about two weeks and I haven't heard back from anyone. I love my Accord and one day I will want another one; but since I am getting charged for parts I don't need at this place, I will be taking my business to another dealership in the area.
