Terrible Experience

I cannot understand why the owner of the location thinks it's ok to speak to a potential customer like he did with me. I'm not one to typically find places to leave a bad review, but this place has me so incredibly angered. The amount of disrespect that man has for people that put food on his table is amazing! I was a simple car sale, educated in the process, just a few questions and he absolutely went off on me! I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I hate! It's really to bad too, the car was a perfect match and at the right price. I've never had someone get so angry at me for asking simple questions about a vehicle priced at over $15k! This would've been my daily driver, not some pile that I don't care about...I would be worried as a former sales person if people didn't ask me the questions. Please note that this me writing this not emotionally angry anymore, this is me after cooling down and I still wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place, even if it was a 1 of a kind mint anything.

I had a fantastic experience at Cities. Dan and his team went out of their way to help my family. I just can't say enough good things about my experience. Thank you Dan.

These People are Cons

I made a purchase for a 2009 Dodge Journey. The people were friendly at first. Then, when I got the car home nothing but problems. I turn the stereo on, all 4 speakers are blown. On the forth day, I come out to the car and try to start it and it doesn't start. This is when their song and dance starts. The warranty does not start for a month. They never told me that. Then when i called the place about the warranty they say to bring it in. How the xxxx do you bring a car in that doesn't start? So I go back out to the car and the car starts 4 hours later. I bring the car in the next day. The take the car and "try to recreate the issue but can't because it wasn't jumped. Then, the sales manager says if there is a problem put it in Neutral and it will start. So it happens again a week later. I put it in neutral and or starts. Fine so at this point i'm thinking the'll know what the problem is and there will be no issues. No this happens again one day in my work parking lot. I try to jump it. It won't jump. In call them. Same xxxxing song and dance Ive got to pay for a tow. So I call the tow company they say 35 minutes here it is an hour later and they're not here. Cities Auto is trouble stay away before they steal a chunk out of your pocket book!!!!! I went out to my car during my lunch break, today. It was approximately 4:00 PM. I tried to start my car to go pick up a package at the office. I turned the key 4 times, it didn't ignite or begin to turn over. I called the warranty company. They said to have a tow truck bring the car in... I couldn't do that, because I can't afford it. They told me that they could cover the tow up to 50 dollars. I don't have any money to cover any of the overage, and I know that this issue is not my fault. As a matter of fact I'm positive, so I told the person I was talking to that I was going to bring the car back. I called the car company, after 5 days, they told me that the car was sold as is. Then, they told me that the warranty doesn't start for a month. They car sales person Tom, says hold on, let me send you to my manager. The manager gets on the line he starts giving me the same story. He can't do anything because he doesn't have a tow truck or insurance that covers that kind of issue unless I can bring it. I couldn't bring it in, because I was working. Finally I told him that I would be there to see him in the morning, and hung up on him. Also, I notice there is a wire hanging from the bottom of the dash. It's a switch of some kind. I believe it's a 4X4 switch. At any rate, whatever it is, it should be hanging there. Monday 10/23/2017 Went to an apartment in Coon Rapids. Played the stereo and had the lights on all the way there. When I got there I'd parked to close to another vehicle and I turned off the key, tried to get out of the car and couldn't. At that point I got in the car and tried to restarted the vehicle, I was unable to. Panicy, I performed the motions requested by the store manager. Put the gear in Neutral and the car started. 10/28/2017 Called City auto about the fact that I possibly left my warranty information at the shop when I went back to check the electrical system of the vehicle. Rosely answered the phone and said they provided me with a sheet of paper that had 11 ways of makeing payments. It was with a down payment receipt? I went to check the envelopes they gave me which are in my car. There was no sheet of paper listing anything in regard to makeing payments. Since, I've found the color of the bumper was different than the whole car, making this car one that was in an accident. The CD player doesn't work, I can't stick a disk in. The speakers were completely blown all the way around the vehicle. There were stains on all of the seats. The coolant gage is closer to the 1/2 mark than 1/4. They don't honor some of the things on their warranty. They're lying about our ability to set up to 3 payments back, Credit Acceptance doesn't honor that lie...

Disrespectful

Was in looking at a car and when I started to point things out on how much more they were asking for the car then it was worth they got a attitude and called me a moron And was pushed out the door as being a former car sales man I cannot believe they can get away with talking to a customer like that they must think they are so much better then wanting business

Just bad service

Went in to look at purchasing a car, and they wouldn't let me test drive the car even though I had called in advance and they said it would be just fine. They lost a customer for life and would not recommend giving them your business..

Dealer response

Geno, I'm sorry that you didn't like our policy on test drives. We advertise that "We Finance Everyone" and when you do that means that you don't just "test drive" vehicles at our store. You were asked a couple of questions that would determine those things for us prior to pulling the 2014 Lincoln off of the showroom floor. First we asked when you were looking to do something to which you replied that you were uncertain and thought in the next month or 2. You were uncertain if the Lincoln was even the car for you. You also indicated that you had a truck to sell outright prior to purchasing a car too. Unfortunately, with you not being ready to purchase and unsure of when you would be, we don't pull a car off of the showroom on a wet snowy day for someone that isn't ready to buy just so they can drive it. That is a policy from the owner, who you actually spoke with that day about this and the car. If you have any further questions please let us know, if not best of luck in your search for a new car. I'd recommend maybe renting one for a day to determine if it is the car for you or not. Geno, you should speak ALL of the facts if you'd like to rate our store, rather than just a few of them. We are an A+ rated, BBB accredited dealership. That is extremely rare for a single point used car dealer, especially in today's world of social media and the like.

I recommend them

Ken made our process so smooth. They're good at what they do. They was honest with us, friendly, polite, and very professional.

Patrick at Cities Auto Sales is the best!!

Top notch customer service! I went here looking for a vehicle to use for towing. It wasn't an expensive vehicle that the dealership was making much money on the deal. I still received above and beyond service from the salesman Patrick. I will definitely be going back for future vehicle needs. I highly recommend shopping here.
