I was looking for a late model Toyota 4Runner Limited after mine was totaled in an accident in December and found Stokes through fb marketplace. Chris,... my sales consultant, was very helpful, professional, and great at follow up. I ended up not buying the vehicle but Chris left a very positive impression on me and I will consider Stokes for my next vehicle even though I live more than a four-hour drive from the dealership.

I drove over an hour to look at a new truck. I even talked to them on the phone prior to going making sure they understood everything. They told me they... were aggressively discounting the vehicle I was interested in and that they were offering $2000 OVER fair market for trade in. Having had a few dealership experiences under my belt I went in with all the research done on my end. They offered me black book (auction) value for my trade which was a $1000 under fair market trade in value and their supposed aggressive discount was $1000 OVER the price they had it listed for online. After calling the salesman out and showing him the research etc he basically told me to go get it somewhere else. As someone who served my country for the freedom and right every business has there is nothing more disheartening to me than going to a place with a giant American Flag, posters about how they support the military and even Christian music playing in the lobby to be lied to and manipulated to my face. I drove an hour hoping they were the moral and patriotic business they claimed to be and left feeling very upset. I get that it’s a business but it’s not a sale if it’s a reduction of an intentional markup and the fact that they didn’t even honor their word or published price - false advertising at least including their claims for fair trade in value. I would not go back or encourage my friends to go there. They are just another big dealership manipulating hard working Americans and making millions by dishonest and non moral business practices. Again, my frustration is how many businesses have no moral compass and they claim to be doing right by others or even by God. This is just another dealership taking in thousands or millions of dollars by lack of integrity. There are good dealerships out there - this isn’t one of them
Terrible experience...Everything was OK until I got to financing...and then it became the worst buying experience of my life. 1.) I waited for hours on... financing, as I paced the showroom floor 2.) I had to change my deductible on my insurance 3 times at financing request, which I’ve never had to do, even my insurance provider commented on the strangeness of this 3.) I thought I would take advantage of their promotional 2.9% financing for 72 months with no payments for 90 days, I told them twice (financing & general manager) I wanted to defer payments for 90 days, I ended up purchasing the vehicle, a couple of weeks later I received my first payment due date from Toyota, only to find out financing “forgot” to defer my payments and payment was due in a week and a half, not in 90 days as was promised ...I have called stokes multiple times trying to find out what happened and how this could be corrected, they said they would look into it, but I never heard back from them, I finally caught them (about a week later) and Scott told me there was nothing they could do...a WARNING to all potential buyers, once you purchase a vehicle from these guys, they are done with you. They have ignored me and refused to correct their mistake, I have never been treated so poorly, I plan to tell all of my work colleagues, DON’T do business with these people. I am in the market for a new vehicle for my wife but I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere, I would advise you to do the same
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with my car buying experience at Stokes Brown Toyota Scion of Beaufort. The sale process went very smoothly... in large part due to my sales agent, Kirbee Fields, who was very helpful and stayed calm throughout the entire process....even when I wanted to get a little uptight. I can't say enough about Kirbee and the entire team at this dealership. The atmosphere is great and everyone seems ready to help. I would definitely recommend Stokes Brown Toyota Scion if you're in the market for a vehicle. At Stokes, they make it happen!
I had bought a used jeep about seven months ago. Had some things wrong and service dept took care of it. It later needed a timing belt but I cannot make... them responsible for that. I decided to go back and try and trade in my wife's explorer. I went there and they said the ford appraiser was not in and he would call me when he came in. No one called did not hear from anyone. I waited a week and called and asked for JR the guy who sold me the jeep, they said he was out so I talked to guy named mike. Told him I would be interested in now trading the jeep back in instead of the explorer said he would look into what I was interested in and call back. No call back from him. waited a week and tried one more time for JR not in. They said he would be in the following day. He did not come to work the next day. Left a msg and he did not call the day after that. I called finely reached him and told him which vehicle I was interested in. He said it was an on line thing but he would find out about it and call me back. I explained NO ONE had called me back in all my attempts at trying to do business with them over three weeks. He assured me he would call me.....Guess what.....No call... nothing. So I am done. Most people would not have stayed with it as long as I did. I hope the owner of that dealership reads this and ponders how many other people faced the same thing and how much money he has lost.
Dealership is very clean and provides a friendly, comfortable, atmosphere. All parties involved took time to explain and answer very clearly any questions... or concerns I had without high pressure tactics. If you are looking for a place to buy your next car with optimum customer service, I highly recommend this dealership. (gao)
