I’ve purchased numerous vehicles from Capitol Auto Group over the years with a satisfactory result. On 7/10/24, I purchased a recent trade in for my Granddaughter. I negotiated a fair price on a 2004 Subaru Forester. The vehicle needed work before it was ready to pickup. During this time I was reassured by numerous Dealership Staff that the vehicle would be ready soon and would be in “exceptional” condition. After one week of waiting, they reassured me that it would be ready soon. I understand with some used cars it doesn’t make since to do all the repairs necessary, because they will lose money. Numerous times throughout the wait I offered to let Subaru out of the deal if they were going to lose money. After waiting patiently for 3 weeks, it was finally time to pick up our car. I drove it off the lot and immediately heard noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. I immediately returned to to the dealer and discovered they knew about the issue and explained that the necessary repair was too expensive. They would lose money. So instead of discussing this upfront they were prepared to have my teenage granddaughter drive off with a problem vehicle. These actions send a strong message to me about how Capitol Auto Group treats its customers. Thanks Don

I have a 2019 Cross Trek. It's the first car I've ever owned where the radio doesn't continue to work correctly on its own. I was offered a paid radio subscription when I bought the car. I had never paid for radio before and could see no reason to start. A while back the radio started acting up, wouldn't save stations, etc. I took it in to Capitol Subaru. In about 15 minutes, they fixed it. They didn't charge me. So I thought OK. It's a minor inconvenience, I'll just have to take my car in every now and then to have the radio updated. Today I brought it in. I was told that the car was no longer under warranty. It would cost $165 to have the radio updated! I can't believe this. No parts required, just a reset of the software. It comes out to about $500 an hour for labor! I'm going to try living with the wonky radio.

I just purchased my first Subaru- an Outback Wilderness. My sales rep, Anthonny, was friendly and knowledgeable. The finance department was easy to work with and very helpful. After receiving the car, they reached out to schedule a follow up visit. Andrew meet with me yesterday and answered all my questions. I highly recommend Capitol Subaru.

We are going to start with the cons as that is the reason why most people read reviews but please know, overall, we had a great experience and our pros are listed below. Cons: I want to make it clear I am not implying intent in any way but when we got home and I looked over all of the paperwork, something stood out. When Clinton (our finance guy) showed us the finance offer, it included gap insurance and another type of warranty or insurance that covered the glass, replacement fob, etc. We considered these and declined the gap coverage as we could get this through our insurance. Clinton got us a discount on the other coverage (yay!). Unfortunately, there was a nearly $4,000 charge hidden in the contract for an extended and expanded warranty. This wasn't explained to us. We've considered the pros and cons of this coverage and have reached out to our salesperson, Cameron. We are hopeful Capitol Subaru will do the right thing and will remove this charge from our contract. I would suggest, in the future, that this charge is as clearly explained as the other coverages we were offered. Perhaps this was an honest mistake. I hope we will be able to say they were decent and fixed it promptly. Pros: Our salesperson, Cameron Stinger, was great. Super chill guy, didn't try to do the hard sell, and was just very honest and genuine. Our finance guy, Clinton, also worked out a great rate for us. He expected it to be around 15% and we were hoping for at least 10%. He was able to get us just under 10%. We will definitely work with them in the future!

Capitol subaru was by far the best dealership I've ever been to! Cameron Stinger from Capitol Subaru went above and beyond with getting me out of my Mazda 3 and into a Subaru forester. I didn't feel pressured to buy the forester just because I was interested in it. He made sure I understood every step of the way. He was extremely kind, caring and relatable. I will be recommending this dealership to all my friends and family.

I worked with Cameron Stinger and he was fantastic. Our interactions spread across a couple months I really felt like he had my best interests in mind. Not only was he informational about the entire lot, he knew the ins and outs of the other Capitol Auto lots. I was not very familiar with the financing but he did a great job walking me through it. I could not be more impressed and satisfied with the job he did and my purchase. As a matter of fact, lady at grocery store was asking me about the new rig and I referred her to him. I said he is the guy you need to talk to! Will 100% refer him again.
