My son buy the camaro and didn’t last 6 hours driving, has to be towed to their shop in linden, they took our pickup truck as a trade in, before the buying process was finished they said that the truck was already sell, in the end we return the camaro and we never get the pickup back, people there are very unprofessional.

Awful Experien

Went there to check out a Fiat 500. Test drove it, and we were ready to buy. On top of the list price, sales guy wanted me us to pay $2K more but could not able to explain the reason. First he said it's warranty but then said it's not. We said we don't want it but he said the dealership won't sell it until we put this additional $2K. This made no sense to us and we left the dealership. This was a waste of our time and a really bad experience.

Dealer response

Hello Los, Sorry you feel that way. I would love to learn more and find out why you feel that way. Can you tell me what car you were looking at and who helped you? Here at East Coast we pride our customer service and would need to know a little bit more to know who helped you? In order for that I would need your real name because we have not had a Los here working a deal on any of our cars.

Ask about "dealer prep fees"

Difficult review to write, read on to find out why ... I live about 90mi from the dealership so did most of the purchase process via phone/text. The salesman, Paul was courteous and responsive to all my questions etc. He took extra pics of the car to show any cosmetic issues I would find when I went to see the car (90mi is just too far to drive to be disappointed in condition). Paul even took the car to a local BMW repair center to have it inspected (mechanical not State as I live in PA) at my request to satisfy my worries about any issues I could not "see". The car itself looked very nice (2015 BMW 228i xDrive) and the mechanical inspection turned up an issue with the brakes which ECA replaced. Subsequently I made the long drive. Test drive went well and car looked great in person. Sat down to do paperwork for purchase and that is when they told me of their "dealer preparation fees". The fee for this car was $2000 ... now this is more than a little annoying and took the car from a great deal to a fair/good deal. We negotiated the fee down to $1600 which helped but I still HATE that practice of advertising one price and then adding a seemingly arbitrary fee for dealer prep. I ended up still purchasing the car in spite of the fee as the price was still a bit under what I had seen this model listed for at other dealers but no where near the deal it would have been at the advertised price. My advice: confirm the "dealer prep fee" for the car you are interested in before going to the dealer, though the BEST thing would be for ECA to eliminate the practice of adding this fee altogether. Practices like this is what gives auto dealers a bad reputation. Also, if you live out of state and need your registration and new plate mailed to you, be prepared to pay $15 for them to overnight them to you. Spending multi-thousands on a car does not get you the courtesy of free delivery. 4 stars overall because the cars are nice and the price (even with fees) is still competitive. Lower marks on customer service because of the fees themselves. The people I worked with, Paul and Angelo specifically are very nice and are merely following the dealership rules.

Horror story

I called the dealership to inquire about a 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT with 37.000 miles on it. I live in NY so we more or less set up everything over the phone and e-mail. I had my sons wedding to go to on Saturday and we decided to do the transaction on September 22, 2018. We got done with the paperwork. I did ask them to put some gas in as the tank was on empty....They did, maybe 2 bucks, because the gas gauge was still on empty. I went 80 Approximately 80 miles and the check engine light went on....a $26, 000 vehicle with 37,000 miles on it and the check engine light came on. Sent them a text showing the check engine light. Could not go back due to having to be at the wedding. Got home to NY and Eastcoast set up a diagnostic test for the vehicle with a dealership near me. Come to find out it had no catalytic converters on the car, which is illegal by federal law to sell. They did not like the amount of the estimate, which was $3500. Just to let you know I traded in a beautiful Challenger RT with 45,000 miles on it and no problems. They said that they would set up a the repairs with their service center. I said fine. Short story it is October 29,2018 and it is still not fixed and even if I wanted to get it fixed, I can't, due to the fact I paid $350 for tags and have not received them and the temporary tag expired on October 21, 2018, so my car is sitting in my driveway, unregistered, no plates and uninspectable. My next step is the Attorney Generals office and a Lawyer.

BMW 750LI

Everything was good until I drove off in this beautiful vehicle. They don't return calls. They don't keep their word. And if you can bring a certified mechanic to check the car you're eyeing, he might be able to save you from having to call this dealership with all the issues your going to run into. From the vehicle's detailing to the over priced warranty that doesn't pay for repairs... Please beware of dealerships like these that wants your business, wants your money, and then wants you to leave them alone with your issues from the vehicle they sold you.... Customer satisfaction is NOT GUARANTEED
