Travel emergency, Thank you Kia of Mankato

i was traveling from Indy to Boise hen i ran over some debris from a semi. Blew tire, bent rim, and messed up alignment. KIA emergency service had me towed to nearest dealership. The folks there immediately understood my predicament and sought to get me back on my way safely and confidently. It took a while as they had to order the rim. But i was on my way within 36 hours and made it safely to Boise with full confidence in their work. Major shout out for their kindness and quality of communication and work. Almost makes me wish i lived in Mankato

Our sales person at Kia of Mankato

Our sales rep was just fantastic McKenna. Her people skills to connect was the best I've ever had. I want to stay in contact with her, because it was like a friendship we gained. I will always recommend her. Had she not walked out to the car lot to greet us. Who knows where we would went to purchase our new vehicle. I'm so thankful, she made that effort. Thanks Makenzie. We love our Kia K5. Dorene and Duane Nelson. Jackson, Minnesota.

Every single time that I’ve come into Kia of mankato,

Every single time that I’ve come into Kia of mankato, I’ve been treated nothing but above my expectations! My sales associate, McKenzie, has been nothing but patient with me with both vehicles that I’ve leased with her. With my last vehicle I had to wait a month for my vehicle to come in and she made it an EXTREMELY smooth process from the minute I put my deposit down to the minute she handed me over her keys! I will continuously refer all of my friends and family to see her at Kia of Mankato

The start of our experience at Kia of Mankato was great

The start of our experience at Kia of Mankato was great (shoutout to Paula) UNTIL it took a very sharp turn and quickly turned into the WORST customer experience I have ever had. We drove 1.5 hrs specifically for a Kia Seltos that the dealership had in stock. After a test drive, we decided to purchase the vehicle. However, when reviewing the dealership’s offer for our trade in, it was significantly lower than expected. We asked if they could increase their offer, to which they answered no. We knew they wouldn’t adjust the price of the new vehicle, so we asked if they could throw in any extra incentives (i.e. add in the car protection plan they offered). They also said no, and our sales rep casually mentioned “I’m not sure our sales manager wants to make a deal with you at all at this point.” Because we asked a few questions to make sure we were getting the best deal, the sales manager would potentially refuse to work with us? That seems very sketchy/scam-like. At this point, we asked to have a few minutes to discuss what we wanted to do about the trade in (whether we wanted to do the trade in or keep our current car and sell it later on our own). We did not express that we were not moving forward with purchasing the vehicle, for which we had already started paperwork on. During this time, another sales rep came over and took the keys for the vehicle – we thought they were letting someone drive it to see if they liked that particular model, not to potentially sell them the vehicle we were actively purchasing. We decided to move forward with the trade in and agreed to everything the dealership put in front of us. We signed off on the deal, but were told us that we couldn’t move forward because the vehicle was on a test drive and the current driver would be given first priority on if she wanted to purchase it or not. We were incredibly frustrated and asked to speak to the sales manager directly so he could explain how this could happen. Sales Manager Matt Strehlow said that he assumed we wouldn’t sign a deal since the trade in was lower than expected (that was never the case and was not something we ever mentioned) and that we had to wait until the current test driver made a decision. He never asked us if we would be not moving forward or let us know that if we don’t sign the deal quickly that the vehicle would be up for grabs. We were completely blindsided! He continually asked for us to be understanding, but never apologized or took ownership of the fact that the whole situation was handled poorly and with a lack of transparency. Instead he made us wait 20 minutes for the other driver to return even though we had already agreed to their deal AND had already started filling out the necessary paperwork for financing. This car was literally ripped out from under us because we took a few extra minutes to agree to the deal that was put in front of us and asked a few questions. It was absolutely ridiculous that this could even happen and I still do not understand how or why the second test driver was given priority when we had already started the process to purchase the vehicle and agreed to a deal before she did. In reading some other reviews, it sounds like our situation at this dealership (particularly with the way Matt approaches customer service) is not entirely unique. So my 2 takeaways are: 1. If you ask questions or try to negotiate in any way, Matt will refuse to work with you (other reviewers have noted this as well) 2. The dealership (Matt in particular) does not take any responsibility for their actions or their poor customer experience. Instead, they just simply say “we’re not the dealership for you.” In this case, that’s probably true because we are looking to work with an ethical, honest and transparent dealer. Matt’s lack of honesty and integrity throughout this situation has made sure that we will not be reaching out about any other available vehicles during our current search or any future searches.

I will NEVER go back to Kia!

I will NEVER go back to Kia!!!! If I could do zero stars, I would. Mostly with my sales rep, but I feel like someone should have fixed this rather than me making phone calls for WEEKS, and no one would call back until I told them that THEIR warrant and credit place advised me to turn them in to the Secretary of State. I only went in there because they could not transfer a name on a lease, which we were fine with. I had one option because she said they did not have any other options, which COVID I get it. I left with making more on payments than we agreed on because my sales lady said her 'manager messed it up.' THEN less than 75 miles and 72 hours later, my tire blew out on the highway on my way to work, and I called Kia. They would not pay for it, even when I signed a warranty. There was very little concern because 'I drove it off the lot without any issues.' My sales rep said it was MY fault and her and the techs had three different stories when you could clearly see, and on the road, there was nothing! They had the wrong tools in the car, so I had to call a tow truck. They did not have a loaner vehicle for me, so we were out of a car. I called daily for weeks and could not get anyone to get me a call back until I demanded to speak to Matt, the owner. I called the warranty department, the credit place for my loan, and they said that Kia did not even submit a warranty so they couldn't help me either. I took it to another mechanic to do the tire and rim and had two other mechanics look at my tire. They all said there was NO WAY I did that to my tire in that short amount of time, considering I had not gone anywhere but home, the grocery store, and picking my kid up from daycare. I was advised to push back because the tire had already been messed up, which would not have been seen until I got right down to the tired, and Kia's techs should have bought it. When I asked my sales lady for details on the checklist they do before they sell the vehicle or numbers when they do it, she told me that she watched them do the tread numbers, so they did not have any numbers. It was the wall of the tire, nothing with the tread even. When I asked that they help me pay for the rim, tire, and towing, something to help as I have NEVER had a late payment and always had a great experience from them in previous vehicles and years. My sales rep told me that 'she gave me a good deal, better than what most would get for their vehicle.' My car had no scratches; I cleaned it before bringing it into them, did the downpayment even though we weren't going to, and was flexible when she messed up the payments. I honestly dread driving the vehicle and cannot wait to get out of it. I will say there was a time when I was in love with them, I even bought my rep a gift after my last car, but this last time I went back, it was the worst experience, and my sales rep definitely lived up to their accusations of promising something, not delivering and saying whatever she needed to get that sale. NEVER AGAIN!

Rude employee

Very rude employees, stopped to look at very few cars they had on the lot just to be treated like I was trespassing. We pulled into the parking lot and parked next to a vehicle we wanted to look at we couldn't get our door open and this woman was at our window and all she says is hi, so my husband responds hi and she goes are all you going to say is hi. What in the world does that mean, she acted like we were parked in her personal driveway trespassing. So we left and bought a 40,000 vehicle down the road from someone else

Was in the market for a new vehicle after having some

Was in the market for a new vehicle after having some issues with my Sorento. Kyle welcomed me with a huge smile and really listened to what I needed in a car. I am overall very pleased with my experience at kia. If you’re in the market, head to kia and ask for Kyle!

Don't trust this dealership on anything.

Don't trust this dealership on anything. If they promise you anything, get it before you sign because once they have your money, you won't get anything. They have done it to me twice! First time shame on you, second time shame on me. Never again! They advertise they will give you up to three thousand over book and in reality they offer you a tenth of the book price, and lie to you all the way. They make up things that are "wrong" with your vehicle to try to get you to take less. After the sale, they give you the ANSWER SHEET to give them a perfect review and promise you free stuff if you give them their perfect review and then give you nothing but excuses about what you were promised. I will never buy a vehicle from them again! After you buy a vehicle they send you surveys to rate their service department that you never even dealt with. Their ratings as a dealership are all bogus!!!!
