Disappointed in Mankato
We brought our Kia that we had purchased from another dealership to Kia of Mankato to look over our vehicle since it wasn't operating right, engine was loud. We were told that it would be looked at on Friday, but after waiting the whole day and not hearing from the service manager, we called them. Gene said they had someone call in sick and were short staffed so they would look it over next week Monday. They said they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Finally after a week, they replaced one part, but the engine still wasn't right. We got a rental, but then I was called at work telling me I needed to return it that same day because they didn't want to pay for it anymore, but then they didn't return it until the following Wednesday, they "forgot" they said. They gave me a car off the lot which I appreciated at the time. After another week, they said our vehicle was needing a new engine. Then they had to bring in another tech to verify the need for a new engine, another week gone by. We start going in the establishment asking when it will be done and they said they were waiting on the engine. We were assured as soon as the engine came in, they would get our vehicle in right away. We checked with the warranty company and Kia of Mankato had the engine Monday and it was Thursday and our vehicle was still outside. They said the car before us too longer than expected. My husband goes in on Friday and the vehicle was still outside. Then on Saturday, Gene, the service manager, calls me at noon and says he needs the loaner car back by 3pm. Yes, 3 hour notice on a Saturday. I said I had no transportation if he takes it and he said he would come get it from my house. I get in the shower since I had been cleaning all morning and while I'm in the shower, my doorbell starts ringing multiple times. I then hear the car alarm going off in the garage. I get out of the shower and see I have a voice-mail. The message says I better not be playing "games" with the loaner car and I need to give it back by 3. Gene then proceeds to text my husband and tell him that we better give the loaner back or he's going to stop work on our vehicle that they have had for over 4 weeks by then! I call the service department and is told that Gene isn't working. I said please let him know I am highly offended by the message I received and then coming to my house setting off the alarm in my garage. He then shows up at my house 30 minutes later to get the car and I let him know how I feel about the message and his insinuations. I told him I have never been treated so rudely in my life by a car dealership. I said it was really crappy to give me 3 hours notice and then not give me anything in its place. He then tells me I am lucky I got the car this long because they only do that sort of thing for their "customers". Excuse me, I'm pretty sure I am a customer with my vehicle in your shop with no engine! They left me and my 2 children without any mode of transportation until we were able to borrow a family member's car Sunday evening. They finally finish the car and we pick it up Wednesday. My husband starts telling a customer about our experience and one of the salesmen says to get out and leave. We ask where our vehicle is and he says, I don't know, somewhere out there. We search the lot and don't find it. We walked the whole lot before finding our vehicle. We get the vehicle home and now after replacing the engine, the air conditioning doesn't work. It says when you replace the engine, you need to recharge the air. We will definitely go elsewhere to get that working. I treated them with the utmost respect until Saturday. Now, I am absolutely disappointed with them and will not return. Anyone else who doesn't buy their vehicle from them and need a repair, don't go there since you aren't a customer!

The old bait and switch.
The old bait and switch. I was interested in a Subaru Legacy. Went back and forth with the "online" guy for 2 days. Asked if there was anything wrong with the car or any accidents...he said it was fine. Made the 2 HOUR trip over to drive it to be told that it has an oil leak and we probably wouldn't make it home. Seriously!!!!! I told him I was driving from a distance. When we got up to leave, the manager puffed out his chest and came to confront me. I told him the situation and he stated "Well we disclosed it now! We wouldn't have to do that!" Oh ok buddy. He was lucky he got what he did. I said "Thanks but no thanks. We won't be doing business here!"

Always great customer service in all departments. Just had my oil change and tire rotated and Andrew assisted me when I arrived until I left. He was so good communicating on the updated service of my car and answered questions.

Kia of Mankato, great buy.
Kia of Mankato sold me their last new car, Niro EV EX, at an amazingly low price, given current market conditions, nobody has any stock. I got the price I wanted and they offered all the dealer extras, but didn't press me to take them.

Just bought my fourth car from Kyle. Always so energetic and always to the point. When u go into Kia of Mankato they understand you and what you need. They never try to upsell anything or try to pressure. They get the deal done and done to you needs not their needs.
