Great experience with Robert and Stan! Robert was able to get us in the car we wanted and Stan was able to get all the paperwork finalized quickly!

On 10/30/2024, I drove all the way from Kansas City to Mel Hambelton Ford in Wichita, KS, to trade in my 2016 Ford Explorer and buy a brand new 2025 Ford Explorer Active. Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting purchase quickly turned into a huge hassle. Less than 24 hours after purchasing and driving my new vehicle home, with under 300 miles on it, I received a warning about a power steering issue that required immediate service. I reached out to Nick at Mel Hambelton, who advised me to take it to a Ford service center in Kansas City. The service center determined that the power steering wiring harness was faulty and needed to be replaced. To make matters worse, they didn’t have the part in stock and had no clear timeline for when it would arrive. Frustrated by the situation, I contacted Mel Hambelton to share my experience and ask if they could offer any compensation or extended warranty, given that my brand-new car was already in the shop. The response? “We don’t build the car; we just sell it.” This made it very clear that they don’t stand by the quality of the vehicles they sell. I was told there was nothing more they could do because the repair was covered under the standard warranty. When I contacted Ford corporate, I was told to take it up with the dealership. So, I was left in an endless loop between Ford and Mel Hambelton. Mel Hambelton did mention an extended warranty as a potential option—but only if I purchased it. Despite their promise to follow up with pricing, their Business Manager Jon has yet to get back to me. This entire experience has been nothing but disappointing. Buying a new car should be exciting, not a nightmare. Mel Hambelton Ford clearly doesn’t prioritize customer satisfaction or stand behind the vehicles they sell. I deeply regret choosing them and will never do business here again. Do better, Mel Hambelton. Stand by the products you sell and treat your customers right.

Detailing - poor review due to having them detail my car

Detailing - poor review due to having them detail my car and they took off part of the clear coat in one section of the hood! Called and talked to a supervisor and manager many times and even emailed one of the owners, with no response. No resolution and they just said that happens with older cars! DO NOT GET YOUR CAR DETAILED HERE. Due to this unsatisfactory service, we will not shop there or use their service again.

Wow!

Wow! Nick responded to my email inquiry on Tuesday morning and the rest is history! We bought our Expedition Tuesday night!! Everyone who was part of our purchasing experience was super friendly - they stayed late and made sure we were comfortable with our new vehicle and had all of our questions answered. My husband and I both agree that this was our favorite car buying experience! We highly recommend Mel Hambelton Ford!

I bought my Fusion 4 years ago from Mel Hambelton!

I bought my Fusion 4 years ago from Mel Hambelton! After having our first baby my husband and I decided we needed something that was bigger. We were looking at getting an explorer. Rudy made it happen and was so good to us through the whole process. Thank you, Rudy!

Blake was outstanding, with different vehicles to look

Blake was outstanding, with different vehicles to look at, he was honest and knowledgeable about all aspects of the car buying experience. Stan was very personable and explained financing very clearly. Both guys were great to work with.

Awesome experience buying our truck overall with our salesman Clayton as well as help getting the best financing with Stan! We also appreciate service looking our truck over really good! Great experience! If you arent happy with something, they will make it right! This is my 3rd vehicle purchase from Mel Hambelton and will be back in the future!
