I had a minor warranty issue with my 2023 C8 Corvette.
I had a minor warranty issue with my 2023 C8 Corvette. Service Tech Jacob White evaluated the issue and scheduled a service appointment within a few days. When I arrived for my appointment, Jacob already had the car checked in and the issue was resolved within the estimated 1 hour quoted time frame. Excellent overall experience.

On April 1, 2024 we went into the Jeff Schmidt Chevy
On April 1, 2024 we went into the Jeff Schmidt Chevy South dealership. We had a current lease with GM Financial through another Jeff Schmidt store. We were concerned about going over mileage and wanted to see if there were any options available. The sole purpose of the visit was to see if they were willing to write off the remainder of our lease, if we entered a new, higher mileage lease. We had been to other dealerships that were open and honest about not being able to write off the remaining lease amount at that time. The sales consultant explained he was experiencing some personal issues involving his mother, and wasn't completely focused that day, but would help us out. We asked him to price an Equinox and a Trax that were on the showroom floor for a 15,000 mile a year lease. When the sales consultant returned he gave us the numbers and we were told that Chevy was writing off the remaining lease balance if we decided to go with the new lease and we would NOT be responsible for the remaining lease amount. We had previously gone to a Kia dealership that morning and priced vehicles out. When the numbers came back and were comparable, we were thrilled since this deal included the remaining lease balance being eliminated. As the paperwork processed continued, there were multiple computer issues taking place. The sales consultant and the sales manager were having problems with filling out different forms. At one point they had us leasing a Trax and not an Equinox. After 5 hours, we made it back to the Finance manager. He spent the first 5 minutes belittling us on the condition of our current lease (besides needing to be wiped down and vacuumed, we had a scuffed rim) and how leasing a vehicle is like borrowing. He continued to tell us that they don't have to buy vehicles back and that we were getting an Equinox this time and they aren't as sought after because so many are leased. Next time we might not be as lucky to have our vehicle bought back. At this point I felt forced into buying the Extra Care Plus package for fear that I would be stuck with my lease when it was time to turn it in. After our dressing down he continued with the paperwork. However, like the times before this one the forms weren't correct. The numbers were not syncing in the system. I signed multiple forms multiple times with different numbers on them. There were forms that I signed where we had crossed out numbers numerous times, and they had me initial next to it. After over 6 hours I was completely confused on what I had even signed. After reading through the paperwork the next day I found that they didn't write off the remaining lease. The remaining lease was rolled into our current lease which is the very thing we did NOT want. Not only were we stuck with about $4,800 in negative equity, but we are stuck with an Extra Care Package that we felt forced into buying. This is our fourth lease with Chevy/GM Financial and fifth time obtaining a vehicle through GM and will be our last. We will not buy any GM product in the future. We felt taken advantage of, lied to, and not once did we have everything explained to us. Intimidation and coercion are apparently acceptable tactics used at Jeff Schmidt. We are now stuck with a car and are in a worse position than we were to begin with.

Awful!
Awful! I am truly disappointed in the management with Jeff Schmitt in Miamisburg. You would think that the manager, August, would be interested in maintaining relationships but unfortunately, his only concern is how much money he can get from you only to not tell you the details behind things that as the consumer you need to know. Or simply misuse the terms of a contract for his own benefit. Both my parents have purchased every vehicle they have ever had from this exact car lot, my dad buys a new car every couple of years. My mom bought her previous vehicle and her new one a few months ago and from August personally! My dad took me there when I was 16 for my first car and later took my daughter when she turned 16. Over the last 50 years, my family and I have always enjoyed our time and experiences with Jeff Schmitt but this last experience was just unbelievable how little the customer means. It's truly a shame how one person can ruin things that a company spent 50 years building. At least for the manager, I can say the customer is not the priority. Also, when I asked who I speak to above him, he responded, there is no one! It's me I am the manager here. It's just me (As if he doesn't have a boss, right?).

Great Experience, Highly Recommend!
I arrived this morning at the dealership and was greeted by Dan Penny. He was a fantastic salesman from start to finish. He was friendly, knowledgeable and most important, genuine. I really appreciated how there was never any pressure or aggressive sales tactics, just a constant respectful exchange that made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. If you are considering buying a car, I would strongly suggest seeking out Dan Penny at Jeff Schmitt South!
