Purchased an SUV here about a month ago.

Purchased an SUV here about a month ago. First thing we noticed was that the SUV had a bald right front passenger tire. Took the car on a test drive and noticed the sun roof not opening and the brake light on, on the dash. Alto was the salesman who was riding a long. Alto Reassured us that the sunroof functions correctly, that “Paul” the other person would show us how to open it and that the brake light could also be “looked in to” Alto also stated that they could do the repairs and get a new tire closer to home as we live an hour away. Paul wrote up the sale complete with an “IOU” for the brake light and tire. Paul also stated we could have the repair work done closer to our home. Fast forward, week later and Paul calls wanting to know when we could bring the vehicle in for the repairs. I Kindly reminded him that we lived an hour away and they stated they could do the repairs closer to home. Paul denied ever saying that and was adamant that we bring the car to “their shop that they deal with” for the repairs. Also, let Paul know at that time the sunroof was in-fact not functioning. Also was told this would be looked into. The conversation ended with Paul saying he would “look into it” My husband called them the next day and they decided they would send us a $200 for the bald tire. Got the check but still haven’t heard a thing about the other repairs and the sunroof is still not opening. My husband has made several attempts to call with no response. Guess it’s time to report to the Missouri attorney general, Better Business Bureau, and my personal attorney. I’m not one to leave negative reviews, especially for a small business but unfortunately, i’m left with no choice! Good thing I have good record keeping of all attempts at contact, the IOU and a recorded conversation about the other things agreed to be fixed.

I would give this company a minus 5 rating.

I would give this company a minus 5 rating. They sold me a car that had a broken drive shaft that had been repaired with a dryer vent clamp. The control arms that keep the car on the road were almost out. The differential was on its last leg. The transmission pan had been recocked and was not holding. The underneath of the car had been painted with black paint to hide the rust. I am 160 miles away from Blue Springs and it is only by the Grace of God that I arrived home safely in a car in this bad of shape. I took it into my mechanics 2 days from when I bought it and everyone of the employees were shocked and appalled by the shape that they sold this car to me in. I was in total shock because Paul seemed like a real nice man. My mechanics and I called and talked with Paul as soon as we found all of these things that were horribly and dangerously wrong with the car. He didn’t seem apologetic at all for selling me a car in such bad shape- never once said he was sorry- didn’t offer to make it right. A good company would have offered to make it right but not them, they gave me $600 toward fixing a car that cost me over $5,000 to get in good working shape. They will tell people that they do their due diligence, that they are honest, and have integrity - those things are the farthest away from what I got. I do understand that the difficult things we go through in life help us get us to where the Good Lord is taking us. This was in God’s plan in my life - God uses wrongs that others do to move us into our purpose and I believe that I am supposed to let other people know what kind of business they have so that they take their car purchasing somewhere else. I learned so much from this interaction- yes, I made many mistakes in this purchase- believe me- I will tell everyone I know what I’ve learned. Mostly to stay away from Pride Auto Sales.

UPDATE to our purchased Jeep Liberty.

Update from a previous post. As it turned out, we had to replace an entire exhaust system and an ECM on the vehicle purchased. A Missouri state inspection was made by Pride, in what appeared to be an attempt to hide the emissions issue in order to buy time from having to do tge repairs - "as/is". The check engine light "on" was because of the O2 sensors not installed properly and the converters missing - which ultimately fried the ECM. The differential went out shortly after we got it home from the exhaust work. One would think "no big deal...we have a car warranty." Well, even though the differential was part of the drive train, Penn Warranty refused to cover their portion. Working w our local mechanic (not a Pride Auto mechanic), I was able to order the needed parts to avoid business markup prices. He also gave my daughter a huge discount on labor as he worked on it in his spare time. He was definitely the silver lining out of all of this. As I was reading the reviews, most of them are roughly the same... sell junk to an unsuspecting customer, hide behind "as/is", customer then has to fork out thousands of dollars to fix the car they just purchased, customers do not read reviews, BBB does nothing - rinse and repeat. If YOU purchase a vehicle from Pride Auto after reading all of these reviews, you deserve every headache you get. This is a bad company. A 1-star is too nice.

Car falling apart one month after purchase

Unfortunately I was told the car was in good condition and a month later it has multiple problems. All within one month of having the car, the AC unit went out, the seat broke and doesn’t move, and the left speaker went out in the sound system. I appreciated the assistance in helping me set up the financing for my car.

Regret purchasing from Pride Auto Sales

Friendly sales people who say all the right things. The car we purchased was priced fairly, not competitively. The model is in high demand and difficult to find. We asked about an inspection and he said it was inspected and in good condition. It should have been a red flag when I asked if I could bring it back within 10 days if there were any issues, and the answer was no. Within a week we started to have problems. It will cost $13K to repair on top of the $18K we paid. We realize now, they purchase cars at auction and turn around to sell without an inspection and they don't stand behind their cars.

So worth the drive 😊

Paul was so good to work with and made everything so easy. I found my jeep online and drove 2.5 hours to pick it up. I’m so happy I shopped around and got such a good deal! I’m loving my vehicle I got from Pride Auto sales! Thank you so much, you guys are the best!

SHADY as shady can be

At first everything seemed OK. The deal was done quickly. The service seemed fairly smooth. We purchased the car and on the way home the check engine light came on. We test drove the vehicle twice w no issues previously so we thought maybe coolant was low. After all, the day we picked it up was about 30° cooler. So when I got home, to our surprise the entire exhaust system was in patches and looked like a 2 year old did the welding. It was terrible. The O2 sensors were RTV'd into the actual pipe w one that was just hanging. ... YES ... R-T-V! The cat converters were hollow. I wish I could add pix here, but I'll do that here soon when I create a Facebook page w a very similar title to their company. The entire exhaust system from the output pipe of the manifolds to the exhaust tip had to be replaced. Dodge quoted the job at $4k. A local exhaust shop here did it for $1.2k. I am not going to rant and rave to Pride Auto Sales. But I will be reporting them to the BBB and to the DMV (Pride wrote a vehicle inspection on the car which covers emissions). I will not worry about my money lost. What I will simply do is cost them potential sales of 40x the price of the highest repair quote. Luckily I need not worry about this repair. However, they took advantage of my daughter - a 1st time auto buyer. This could happen to any of you!! Should we have looked at the exhaust?? Yup! You bet! However they wrote a vehicular MO state inspection on it to say it was good. Pretty clear that this was fraud. A 1-star review is too nice here. Paul, you wanna make the wrong thing right? You have my number.

Great Customer Service

Thank you Steven and the manager at Pride Auto sales for great customer service. This is a a great place to buy a car and the guys here make the experience so much easier. They are friendly, respectful and definitely puts the customer's interest first. My Toyota is running great so far. Highly recommended and always worthy of return business.

Great business men.

Guys were great they did everything they could to work with us. We bought a beautiful Expedition that runs great. They bent over backwards to work with us. Great business! I would recommend going out to see them for your next vehicle.
