I bought a Toyota RAV4 from this dealership, and the experience was very disappointing. They claimed to have replaced the oil, cabin air filter, and wipers, and falsely recorded it in the service report, but none of it was actually done. The oil and filter were dirty, and the wipers were so bad I could barely see in the rain. The brake fluid was also questionable. Even worse, a previous oil sensor repair was held together with black electrical tape, which the Toyota dealership said should have been caught during a proper inspection. I had to pay out of pocket just to make the car safe to drive. After I posted an earlier review, a staff member emailed and asked me to call him. I called more than 10 times over a week with no answer, and the voicemail did not work. They claim to have 30,000 five-star reviews, but a Google search shows fewer than 10,000 total, and not all are five stars. Check Yelp and DealerRater before buying here. I would not recommend this dealership.

My salesperson was Cy6nthis, and she was wonderful.
My salesperson was Cy6nthis, and she was wonderful. She helped me find the car that I wanted, and answered all my questions. It was a great experience, and I would recommend Cynthis if you are looking to purchase a vehicle at Automaxx.

Used car dealer that doesn't do enough to keep your
Used car dealer that doesn't do enough to keep your business. Plus they add those dreaded hidden fees/assessments. A hidden. Fee deduction I didn't know about or ask is not a favor to remove. I didn't buy a car, but there was one person who was helpful. Other than that I just didnt see working together on a car that had been sitting for over 90 days and had a recent price reduction was going to work out. If you cant meet customers half way then how do you make money. Wasn't happy with the engagement with the sales reps at all.

The only reason I give the second star is because my salesperson, Alan, was honest and polite throughout all of my dealings with him. Other than that, the experience has been a nightmare. Firstly, Raul, the finance manager we dealt with, is one of the most unprofessional people I've met when purchasing a car. During the initial meeting with him, he very passive aggressively argued with both myself and my mother who was there to assist me in my first car purchase. He pushed me to sign up for the extended warranty, under the stipulation that I could cancel it within 3 days if I reconsidered. He also made it sound very easy to bring my own financing if I could find a better rate elsewhere, but was very cocky in saying that there was no way I would find anything lower. So the next day when I called with a 4 percent lower rate, and wanted to cancel the warranty, I was surprised to find Raul ducking my calls, and trying to persuade me to keep the warranty, and to go with his new rate that was still .5% higher than the financing I was bringing, because it was easier. After finally getting the sales agreement out of him, I came into the dealership that night to hand him the new check. A process I was told would take 10 minutes once he finished with his customer. I then watched Raul finish with his customer, make eye contact with me, talk to the sales desk, look at me, shake his head, and then take another customer back. He did this 2 more times, even taking the time to tell me he'd be right with me, before I finally got fed up and stood outside his office until he reluctantly got up, asked to just take the check with no paperwork, and said he'd get back to me tomorrow. After some arguing, he finally got me the paperwork, after a long 4 hour standoff on a Friday night. Fast forward a week, and a TPMS sensor fails. I reach out to my salesman, who said he let the service desk know, and that they would be calling me within the day. They never did. I tried calling the service department about a month later, still within my warranty, and was told that TPMS sensors are not covered (every warranty I've ever seen covers these) and that they can't even get me in for another week or 2. This so called "excellent service department" sure is impressive. All in all, if I can give you any advice, it would be to firstly, probably not shop here, and secondly, if you do, do NOT deal with Raul, and do NOT accept their extended warranty. Both will come back to haunt you.

I wouldn't wish my experience with Automaxx of the Carolinas in Summerville, SC, on my worst enemy. We bought a newer used truck for our son, thinking we were getting a reliable vehicle, but it didn't even last 30 days before we were confronted with the fact that it needed a complete transmission replacement. A truck that's supposed to be 'newer' shouldn't break down that quickly—there's something seriously wrong with their quality control. Their so-called 90-day warranty? A total joke. It doesn't cover the repair completely, leaving us with a substantial bill. When I discussed this with the manager, he had the audacity to say, 'That's why we tried to sell you additional warranty packages.' So, they were aware the truck had issues and merely wanted to sell us more to protect themselves? That's not right. Meanwhile, the salesperson we worked with related a story about a diesel truck he sold that also required a transmission replacement—and how Automaxx 'took care of it' and even provided a rental car. It's curious how that support did not extend to us. We received no such assistance—just excuses and an arrogant attitude. This dealership is a nightmare. They don't stand behind what they sell, and they'll leave you in a difficult situation the moment something goes wrong. Avoid Automaxx of the Carolinas at all costs—unless you enjoy wasting money and dealing with unhelpful, dishonest individuals. Never again.

Was unknowingly charged $2550 for a service contract I
Was unknowingly charged $2550 for a service contract I did not and never would have authorized, especially being that I was from out of state only there temporarliy, and probably never would have been back there to use it if needed, and I am a mechanic anyway, and fix all my own vehicles. The car I purchased was wrecked previously which i was aware of, but not fixed properly. I was in a stessful situation with my previous car among other things, and this was at the height of covid, and I really dont appreciate being taken advantage of. I had worked a 12 hour day and was exhausted, and it was closing time and somehow they slipped the service contract in on me. I did not have time to deal with the issues with the car as I was only in town temporarily for work, but I am sure i would have gotten the runaround anyway. They refuse to refund the money, saying too bad you signed for it basically, and the fact that a significant amount of time has passed, and I just realized the charge recently. Everything was signed on a digital pad so its not like i was looking at the actual numbers when I signed. Either way they should make it right, especially since the service was never used, and they sold me a car with shotty repair work. If they dont make it right after this review, I will be contacting the BBB and consumer protection agency, and legal counsel. Deceptive and shady practices period.

We purchased my wife’s vehicle there about a month ago.
We purchased my wife’s vehicle there about a month ago. First issue was the vehicle that we made an appointment so test drive wasn’t available. They had several days to make us aware. They text, emailed, and called to make sure we were going to keep our appointment. But never once mentioned the vehicle had been sold. We did however find another vehicle that day… for a considerable amount more then the first that we wanted to buy. One month and 1000 miles after purchase we had an issue with the brakes. When we scheduled to have them look at it we were told to bring it in and they would inspect it. When we arrived they wanted $155 for a diagnostic fee… which was never mentioned previously. We declined the service. The same day and time I had an appointment to test drive another vehicle for myself. For the price of $42,000. This was the second time I had scheduled a test drive. This vehicle… like the one before it, and the one we had scheduled for my wife. Was not available. Yet they had not contacted me to let me know. They however had called, emailed, and text me multiple times again to make sure I would be showing up. The salesman that I was supposed to meet was also not even available. After such a poor customer service experience I decided to leave without even considering another purchase. This dealership is only about making sales and collecting money. They do not care about the customer or after care. I will be spending my hard earned money elsewhere. And for anyone considering buying from them beware. There are many other dealerships to work with in this area. Automaxx is not the place you want to do business.

They seem legitimate but they aren't.
They seem legitimate but they aren't. Purchased a vehicle that needed service and the service manager was condescending and rude and tried to charge me what they had to cover. The car also ended up being a deep hole of repairs after the other warranties ran out. We thought we were getting a good deal but we were ultimately swindled. DO NOT buy a vehicle here.
