I strongly advise anyone — especially out-of-state buyers — to think twice before purchasing a vehicle from AutoMaxx. Buying my car from South Carolina has turned into a complete administrative nightmare. The dealership incorrectly registered my vehicle in the wrong county in Georgia, which has now forced me to go through the process of filing a police report for a “lost/stolen” tag and restarting the entire registration process in my actual county in GA. This has been an exhausting and completely unnecessary headache — all because of errors made by AutoMaxx. To make matters worse, I was given a broken key at delivery. The key was falling apart and not fully operable. I was told I would be reimbursed for a replacement, yet I am still waiting on the check. Nick has repeatedly ignored my calls and messages and has failed to take ownership of resolving this issue. At one point, when I called to follow up, a front desk employee even told me that explaining my situation was “fruitless.” There has been zero accountability, poor communication, I never received my car key or the check to pay Mazda to make an the Key and no urgency to correct mistakes that should never have happened in the first place. If you’re buying from out of state, be aware that once the deal is complete, you may be left handling the consequences alone. Extremely disappointing experience.

two months later & my review has to be altered. when we purchased the vehicle the GM was actively driving it. he had his phone charger & carseats in the vehicle & even apologized for it being dirty because HE was using it. when we signed the paperwork they listed the mileage at what was listed on the website it was NOT updated to reflect the miles driven by the GM/test drive. they have you sign paperwork & then you get the vehicle afterwards & dont think to verify the actual mileage. BUT WARNING YOU SHOULD!! when we got into the vehicle i noticed it was almost 1k miles more. thought it only goes to the DMV no big deal i wasnt thinking about the 3 month OR 3k mile warranty. this is my 2nd vehicle and i only drive it on weekends. a week after buying i had issues with the timing belt & they tried to say i drove it a 1k miles so it was wear & tear not warranty. i pushed back and brought up the issue with the mileage which they agreed to fix the issue with the vehicle but NEVER updated mileage w/ the warranty company. fast forward 2 months after i purchased the car i took my first road trip & made it to rock hill on jan 1 & the vehicle broke down. had to cancel my trip. pay for a hotel in rock hill for the night since no mechanic shops were open. lost money on the ski resort tickets/airbnb. paid 1200 to tow it back home to automaxx. paid to rent a vehicle to get my family of 8 back home to summerville. went into automaxx and spoke with the salesman & the GM. the GM started the conversation with us saying oh yea its coming back i remember the vehicle and driving it. as we talked more about the mileage not being right he tried to show us the carfax they updated the day we came in to buy it but again it matched the miles on the website not the mileage after the GM drove it & the test drive & the mileage we saw after we signed the papers & they brought the vehicle around for us to leave in. so that is what they are saying is the accurate mileage. but common sense would say impossible that a car being driven by the GM and on test drives would have the exact mileage listed on the sales ad. As we discuss how that error now has us 203 miles past our warranty when in reality we are more like 800 miles within & we talk about the engine needing repaired. the GM quickly started backtracking shooting lines of xx like oh he keeps carseats in vehicles just in case he has to pick up his kids & blah blah blah. he continued to walk back & back track. he mentioned we should of bought the extended warranty. yea but we should also have the standard warranty offered too had the reported the correct mileage to the warranty company. also the finance told us the cost of the extended warranty & flat out said it wasn't worth it. now we have a quote to fix out vehicle that should be under warranty for $12k!! a vehicle we owned for 2 months. they know they are wrong & all we asked was for the warranty to be corrected. we have the text messages from the first time a week after we purchased it & addressed the mileage inaccuracy. when i purchased i even asked what happen if it breaks down & my warranty just expired the salesman/manager assured me they will take good care of me and their reputation matters. that was a lie. if you purchase a vehicle from here. I suggest you take pictures of everything including the mileage before you leave. record conversations w/ finance & sales. confirm the documents are true & accurate especially that mileage because it does not just go the dmv it goes to the warranty company & those few miles its off can mean no warranty. they are quick to tell you how they inspect their vehicles & how great they are and they go through rigorous inspections but we bought a vehicle that has never traveled further than west ashley & maybe driven 2000 miles in 2 months. that we now have 12k in repairs at first i was blown away by my experience. but they got me.dont believe all the amazing reviews before you drive away they ask for a review. so

They sold me a warranty that lasted 1 year for $6000, there is no way i would have purchased that. They made up lies about the guy who sold it to me saying he quit that week. Then never got back to me like they said they would. If you are reading this and are thinking of buying a car from them, please rethink your decision.

My salesperson was Cy6nthis, and she was wonderful. She helped me find the car that I wanted, and answered all my questions. It was a great experience, and I would recommend Cynthis if you are looking to purchase a vehicle at Automaxx.

Used car dealer that doesn't do enough to keep your business. Plus they add those dreaded hidden fees/assessments. A hidden. Fee deduction I didn't know about or ask is not a favor to remove. I didn't buy a car, but there was one person who was helpful. Other than that I just didnt see working together on a car that had been sitting for over 90 days and had a recent price reduction was going to work out. If you cant meet customers half way then how do you make money. Wasn't happy with the engagement with the sales reps at all.

The only reason I give the second star is because my salesperson, Alan, was honest and polite throughout all of my dealings with him. Other than that, the experience has been a nightmare. Firstly, Raul, the finance manager we dealt with, is one of the most unprofessional people I've met when purchasing a car. During the initial meeting with him, he very passive aggressively argued with both myself and my mother who was there to assist me in my first car purchase. He pushed me to sign up for the extended warranty, under the stipulation that I could cancel it within 3 days if I reconsidered. He also made it sound very easy to bring my own financing if I could find a better rate elsewhere, but was very cocky in saying that there was no way I would find anything lower. So the next day when I called with a 4 percent lower rate, and wanted to cancel the warranty, I was surprised to find Raul ducking my calls, and trying to persuade me to keep the warranty, and to go with his new rate that was still .5% higher than the financing I was bringing, because it was easier. After finally getting the sales agreement out of him, I came into the dealership that night to hand him the new check. A process I was told would take 10 minutes once he finished with his customer. I then watched Raul finish with his customer, make eye contact with me, talk to the sales desk, look at me, shake his head, and then take another customer back. He did this 2 more times, even taking the time to tell me he'd be right with me, before I finally got fed up and stood outside his office until he reluctantly got up, asked to just take the check with no paperwork, and said he'd get back to me tomorrow. After some arguing, he finally got me the paperwork, after a long 4 hour standoff on a Friday night. Fast forward a week, and a TPMS sensor fails. I reach out to my salesman, who said he let the service desk know, and that they would be calling me within the day. They never did. I tried calling the service department about a month later, still within my warranty, and was told that TPMS sensors are not covered (every warranty I've ever seen covers these) and that they can't even get me in for another week or 2. This so called "excellent service department" sure is impressive. All in all, if I can give you any advice, it would be to firstly, probably not shop here, and secondly, if you do, do NOT deal with Raul, and do NOT accept their extended warranty. Both will come back to haunt you.

I sold my 2023 RAV4 to Automaxx of Summerville. Doretha Martino handled the appraisal and payment. She was professional, quick, and went out of her way to get my money to me.
