I have purchased close to a dozen vehicles from Chicago Motors Inc, a few of which have been sight unseen. They do a great job of depicting the true condition of the vehicles on their site with dozens of photos and descriptions. Their vehicles seem to be very well-rounded and 'cream of the crop' when considering government agency vehicles. It really does feel like they take their time in choosing quality vehicles from specific departments.

Not happy

They don’t tell you that you cannot get gap insurance or an extended warranty on these cars if they are pursuit cars The pursuit part is in the vin #. Have had nothing but problems with the car I bought. Replacing entire engine in the vehicle we bought now. Had to replace ignition I’ll never get my money out of this vehicle

Professional and friendly

I had a very pleasant buying experience, and ended up with a quality vehicle. Abdul was professional, and answered every question I asked. I had nothing but a good experience. I look forward to the next time I need a special vehicle.

Tahoe 2012 85k

ABSOLUTELY the best place to buy a used suv, police or not... Chicago Motors staff knew all of their cars, there was no "manager" approval needed for every single question. absolutions painless negotiation with better shipping prices than I could find myself. My truck was driven 1100mi from the lot back home, through rain and night driving without any problems what so ever... I wish they sold other kind of vehicles, it truly was a joy...

Dont but here

I purchased a police interceptor from here a few years back. I drove the car and within 3 days if having it I hit a bump and the brain box on the car went out. Ended up costing me $1700 to fix it. This place is a RIP off I've heard ALOT of terrible things about this place and I ended up also being a victim DO NOT BUY HERE

Customer

I had been looking around for a vehicle for some time. All the newer used vehicles at dealerships are gold plated. I've driven crown Victoria's most of my driving life. I had an old PI before and was very happy with it. I like the simplicity of these police vehicles so I started looking for one instead of the over priced trim models they sell now. Here I found Chicago Motors Inc., read their reviews and researched these newer cars pretty extensively. I talked with Ted on the phone and he was very willing to answer my questions. From there I showed up about a week later and between Ted and Abdul they spent about 4 hours with me looking at cars and suv, answering questions, and driving them. I found a car that I liked and felt good for me. ( Ask questions they are knowledgeable of the vehicles) I drove 2 hours to get to these guys and they made every minute count for me. The few minor things I found with the car they took care of. Ted and Abdul were very professional and comfortable to deal with making this experience a great one. Thanks Ted and Abdul, we will see you next time.

BUYER BEWARE.

One of the worst mistakes of my life. I saved up for a very long time to get a Dodge Charger Police Interceptor 5.7 V8 as my first car. At first glance the car looked like it was in great shape, as it did in the pictures. But the horn ended up not working along with the stereo and 2 days later the engine light turned on. The flex fuel was completely busted and after spending weeks in the mechanic and thousands of dollars, the car finally entirely broke down WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT and I had to get it towed. The mechanic had no clue what the problem was. So I towed it from there to a dealer. The total cost of repairs estimated out to $10,000 from the dealership, and they told me it has an active recall for faulty passenger airbags. The car cost me $9,000. And along with $2,000 in repairs up to that point. Chicago motors let me trade it in to them for $5,500. So at this point I was out $7,500. A few weeks ago I bought a 2012 Charger that cost $10,000 with the trade in value applied. Car looked great. Horn worked. Stereo work. But to no surprise the engine light was on the very first time I turned it on and the batteries in the key fobs were dead. Had it inspected. Chicago motors paid $500 just to get the engine light off. But Turns out the car needs a new steering rack which costs at least $1,100 to fix a power steering leak. Along with about a thousand dollars needed to fix problems with shocks and other fluid leaks. What drove me to finally right this review is today I was driving home from work when my ENGINGE started smoking like a concert grade fog machine. For some “random reason” my coolant hose ruptured and spewed cooling fluid all over my engine. Another $500 or so to fix that. And through everything my salesman repeatedly dodged my texts and calls and was extremely hard to reach and negotiate with except when I was wiring him money. Some of the ONLY times he’d answer the phone is when he knew I was giving him thousands of dollars for these lemons. This was among one of the worst mistakes of my life. DO NOT work with these people.

Look Elsewhere

Go somewhere else!! I bought a Tahoe that I thought was a great deal, besides all the mechanical repairs I had to do, the electrical issues I never messed with, went to trade this junk in and found out a huge issue, THEY ROLLED THE MILEAGE BACK!!!! Carfax showed it was registered with 178,000 miles, then I bought it with 93,000!?!?! If you do go to this ripoff lot, demand a carfax report!!

Be careful

Flew in from NY,was picked up at airport, Abdul was very friendly arrived at dealership car was outside ready for test drive. Met Ted he was ok, took the car for drive. Car ran great, checked OBD II no codes or pending. Had a spare tire added to the trunk, made the deal. Drove home 810 miles,no issue. The next day had the car registered, set up inspection, would not pass,Inc cat. Took car back, didn't make sense just drove it 12 hrs and then 8 hrs parked. Threw a code ( check engine light) P0420,P0430 pending. Put in cat cleaner, no luck. Ended up having to replace, both cats and O2 sensors,(tried 02 sensors 1st) End of story is $2600 added to cost to get to pass NYS inspection. Moral to story, be careful when purchasing and used Ford Taurus police interceptor with over 100,000 miles. Buyer beware, these cars are bought as is Tom upstate NY
