This was the first vehicle I've bought from a dealership. I can't say the experience has been a good one. Jeremy was nice to deal with but it all fell apart when it came to the van having issues. I took possession of the van but wasn't able to drive it for 3 weeks as I was fresh out of surgery. Once I did drive it, I noticed it would hit bumps pretty hard. At that point I figured it was me and not being healed up yet. 5 weeks out and we're past the 30 days of taking the van back to the dealership. Now I'm heading to the Honda dealership to get a sliding door and broken seat looked at; while there I mention to the tech about the bumps AND the fact the van had no spare tire. I was also not too worried about the cost since California Motors Direct urged me to buy the warranty. I figured most of it would be covered. In the end, nothing was. The seat is going to be nearly $600 to fix, the sliding door another $500 and the bump issue? BOTH axles are in terrible condition. Hazardous condition, something that would have been found in California Motor Directs inspection. They have to be replace.. another $1200 to fix. That monstrous price for the warranty that was supposed to give me peace of mind about being covered should anything go wrong is useless in this instance. Had I had the means to purchase a new vehicle, I would have done it. Instead I trusted a dealership in hopes of them doing right by their customers. *Shakes head* Go some place else Folks. Save yourself the hassle.
They do not care about you
Please do not waste your hard-earned dinero or your time doing business with this company. There is a reason why there are so many unhappy reviews for California Motors Direct. Not even Kenny from the customer service department can save this ship. Their customer support is severely lacking. They do not care about you, your familia, or your pet goldfish, only your dinero. I found a car available for purchase through their Santa Ana dealership. I emailed stating my interest in the vehicle and immediately was contacted by one of their sales reps. If I lived in the area, I would have visited their dealership immediately, but unfortunately, I lived quite a distance away. One of the sales reps set up an appointment for me to stop by the following weekend and look at the vehicle. I spoke to Luis Chavez from their finance department. I filled out their application, was pre-approved and sent them a copy of my pay stub. Their finance department ran my credit as well. I had a couple of questions and tried to speak to Luis. He never emailed me back or answered my phone calls. Pinche cabron was straight hiding. I reserved a car rental and hotel accommodations for my trip to their dealership a few days before our meeting. The sales rep said that this car would be available when I arrived and for the price we agreed on. I checked their website a couple of days before our meeting and noticed that the car was no longer listed. I did not receive any notification that this car was already sold. I had to call their business, talk to Lupe and receive the bad news. THIS COMPANY IS A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BUSINESS. They did not honor their word and had no intentions of notifying me that the car was sold. They were going to let me drive my happy self-down to their location, thinking I was going to buy my dream car. They shattered my dreams. I hope it was worth it. I will forever tell everyone I know, to avoid California Motors Direct. There are other dealerships that you can spend your money and time on, not these people. The only thing I got out of this business is a hard pull on my credit (for nothing) and an unhappy experience. Judging by all the negative reviews about their business, the only thing they are good at is making pissing people off. Hey Kenny – I see you commenting on other people’s negative reviews. You want to talk? Name a time bud.

Chevy Bolt with No Charger
Can't recommend strongly enough to not buy a car here. I bought a 2017 Chevy Bolt and after being told a charger for my new car would be put in the back, I arrived home to find that there was no charger in the back. No big deal. I reached out to my sales person and said "Hey looks like you forgot to give a charger like we talked about, could you please have one shipped to me?" and he told me that he did not forget, but that they were all out of chargers. It was Saturday and he said he'd try to have one shipped out on Sunday or Monday at the latest. I drove up from San Diego to save a few hundred bucks. I didn't hear from him on Sunday, on Monday he did answer my call. I called the dealer and was accidentally hung up on, then transferred to services which went to voicemail, and then I talked with services and the guy was basically like "Well this isn't really my job, I can get the charger but your salesperson will need to ship it out". Apparently my salesperson had the day off. The next day I was told by my salesperson that he could "check and see if he could get an update". Another day passed and I checked in again, increasingly frustrated, I was told: "The charger has been shipped from what I've been told but I'm not sure when you would receive it". No tracking number. It's been a week since then and no charger. Remember, this is a fully electric car - so my new car is completely useless and I'm having to Uber around or eek out driving to a charging station to get a few miles of charging in. I just bought one online and gave up. This is the xxxx that gives used cars sales people the terrible reputation that they have. Give your business to someone else that will treat you like a human being.
Terrible experience -- Do not use this dealer
This was a terrible experience all the way around. During the sales process, my sales rep Matt reassured me that he would do everything I could to make sure I was satisfied. But, when I got my car home and realized it didn't have an important charging feature I thought was standard, Matt did nothing. Even though I'd had the car for days, he wouldn't even take it back at the value he sold it to me for. He wanted to give me $1500 less for it! He refused to answer my calls. I've been in sales before, and never would I have treated a customer this way. I would have done everything I could to make things right. Finally, when I just asked for the extra key he promised me, he told me there wasn't one. He explicitly promised me that he had one and then denied it. I would be very wary about this dealership if I were you.
horrible customer service.
horrible customer service. all the bad reviews here are truth. bought the car gave them 12k down payment. car didn't pass on smog. a week later car still not good. they been driving the car for few days. mile has gone up and still testing it that's what they told me. i keep calling them but they keep putting on hold. they do not answer they never call me back to update me. but instead they rather take they're shoes to get polish. but I'm glad didn't bought the car till now.
