This was the second service i got charged wrong amounts by the advisor. The quoted price when I drove in was different with the final one. On my last visit, i was charged for the windshield wipers that i was not asked for. They took it off after i caught it. This time i was charged for $399 before discount and taxes, which i was quoted only $339. I have to remind and got a little argue with the advisor before he came back to the original quoted price. Since it happened twice in a row, made me think this was the dealer’s strategy to treat their customers rather than a mistake by the advisors.

We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. There are times where the original quote is updated to reflect changes in services rendered, or labor hours required to complete the job. However, in either case, your Advisor should have updated you with the correct total if there were any changes prior to completing the work. Our Customer Relations Manager is available at 713-558-8262 to assist with resolution.

Ayo was very helpful during the sales process. I had good interactions with the management and finance. But it’s important to have tough skin when buying a car, you can always get them to go lower!

After spending a significant amount of time researching trucks, I found what appeared to be the perfect vehicle at Mike Calvert Toyota. I worked with Ryan Claffey through the normal online negotiation process, and we eventually agreed on what I felt was a really fair purchase price. Because we were flying in to purchase the truck and drive it home, I spent considerable time communicating with Ryan beforehand. My goal was to eliminate surprises and fully understand the truck’s condition before making such a long trip. Ryan told me he had inspected the truck multiple times and identified only one cosmetic issue: a minor scratch on the plastic tailgate trim. He repeatedly indicated that there were no other noteworthy defects or damage. When we arrived at the dealership, the truck had been parked with the passenger side backed tightly against a hedge, making that side difficult to inspect. I didn't think much of it at the time but I now realize that was intentionally done. After the test drive, I was finally able to walk fully around the passenger side and immediately noticed obvious damage, including paint damage and a fairly significant scratch that was impossible to miss during a normal inspection. Ryan stated he had never noticed it, although the damage is visible in the walk-around video he had previously sent me but only if you know where to look and frame by frame the video. We relied on the dealerships' integrity before investing the time and expense of traveling across the country. Had this damage been disclosed in advance, likely would have continued our search elsewhere. They knew this. After further negotiations, the dealership reduced the purchase price by $750, and we decided to proceed because we believed the damage was only cosmetic/superficial. Unfortunately, while driving home, we also discovered a chipped and cracked windshield that had never been disclosed. The following Monday, I obtained estimates from two independent collision repair facilities. Both informed me that the aluminum bedside had a small crack or tear near the wheel opening in addition to the visible damage. Both also believed adjacent trim had been manipulated in a way that hid the aluminum crack. Their repair estimates ranged from approximately $1,800 to $3,500 because aluminum bedside repairs can be significantly more involved than they initially appear. Left unchanged, the tear would spread. I also learned that the windshield chip had already been "professionally repaired" in the past. Since these repairs can only be performed once, the only remaining option is a complete windshield replacement. The dealership was the sole owner of the truck so had it repaired on their watch. When I contacted the dealership, I was referred to Gwen Leigh, who requested a detailed explanation and copies of the repair estimates. I promptly provided everything requested, believing the dealership intended to work toward a reasonable resolution. She initially reached out to me, not the other way around. Ultimately, however, Mike Calvert Toyota declined to provide any additional assistance. We were not asking them to cover the full repair costs, not even close. We simply asked management to reconsider and contribute even $500 toward the repairs as a goodwill gesture, but that request was also denied. Throughout the initial sales process, Ryan was courteous and responsive, but he also provided incorrect information about several basic Tundra features, including the lane-centering system and the operation of the 360-degree camera system. Ryan was uneducated on the Tundras, on top of being a liar in my opinion. My disappointment is not that I purchased a used truck with imperfections. Used vehicles often have flaws. I believe the defects were consciously withheld. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Mike Calvert Toyota, quite the opposite. Horrible people that should be avoided at all costs.

I am unsure how to format this review; therefore, I will write an extemporaneous stream of consciousness in the hope that my words will be of use to the dealership, the car dealers, or future patrons. I came into Mike Calvert Toyota with preexisting miscommunications. I had scheduled a viewing, and a family member also scheduled with a different dealer; therefore, I had two dealers helping me. Mr Pradish Thomas and Mr Chris Ike. Both provided excellent service and showed me options I had not previously considered for financing, which allowed me to get the SUV I desired. Both men are knowledgeable, and they did everything needed to allow me to trade in my old car without hassle. I was in and out in under 4 hours when I expected at least two days of forms and paperwork. Would definitely recommend.

I went in for an alignment, and I left the dealership with my vehicle damaged and one tire smaller and a different model than the rest of my tires. I have proof of purchase of my tires from discount tire. The service department damaged my vehicle while performing an alignment and is gaslighting me into believing I caused the damage. The General Manager, Mike Gorbet agreed to fix my vehicle and then changed his mind. Mike Gorbet cannot provide any documentation or videos to support his position that the dealership did not damage my vehicle. The service department damaged my vehicle while performing an alignment and is gaslighting me into believing I caused the damage. Their own body shop disagrees with its service departments assessment. I took my vehicle in for 50,000 service and oil Change. The service video after the 50.000 mile service and oil change on March 11, 2026 shows the technician underneath the vehicle stating that “everything looks great, including the lower control arms, upper control arms, and tire rods.” The service manager provided a list of suggested services, which included a wheel alignment. I agreed to the alignment service and waited longer for the additional service. When I drove away from the dealership, I noticed the vehicle was pulling hard left, which it was not doing when I dropped it off for service and oil change. I called March 11, 2026 the moment I left the dealership and service was already gone. I texted and called on March 12, 2026 and March 13, 2026 but never received a response. On March 14, 2026 I finally received a call and text to bring the vehicle back for a check. On March 16, 2026 I returned the vehicle to the service department for an inspection. The service video on March 16, 2026 shows the technician sitting at his desk, filming a computer monitor, stating that the frame that holds the control arm was broken or damaged due to a pothole incident, causing it to now pull to the left. (RO #879089) They tried to convince me that I caused this damage by hitting a pothole or curb and recommended their body shop repair it. I disagreed with the assessment and requested further explanation. Service Drive Manager then tried convincing me that I caused the damage to my vehicle. After being unsuccessful, assistance was requested from the Service Manager. My vehicle was then returned to service for an additional inspection, which resulted with again the service manager blaming me of hitting a massive pot hole. An inspection of the vehicle by their own body shop revealed no damage to the undercarriage, including the lower control arms, upper control arms, tire rods, or any other part of the vehicle that is consistent with damage from a pothole or curb. I was told manager approval was required to send me an estimate, which was never received. I made repeated requests for this estimate, but have been ignored. I made repeated requests for the service department to fix the damage they caused, but have been ignored. I was assured that their employees are nothing but the best, yet they let me drive away from servicing my vehicle and didn’t say a word or document this supposed damage? Swapped a tire??
