I really believe I got scammed by the dealer — I didn’t

I really believe I got scammed by the dealer — I didn’t know much about cars and was way too naive. For example, I sold my 2016 Toyota Corolla for only $2,000. When I told my friends, none of them could believe it. It was clearly a bad deal. I also bought a 2020 Honda CR-V that was listed for around $23,000 online, but I ended up paying $30,000 total. Looking back, I feel so stupid for not asking more questions or pushing back — but I was overwhelmed and didn’t know how to stand my ground. The dealer I worked with was Victor Balogun, and I felt a lot of pressure and confusion during the entire process. At one point, he even stopped me from calling my sister — that’s when I knew something wasn’t right, but I didn’t have the confidence to speak up. This was a very expensive lesson. So please — if you’re new to buying cars, do not go alone. Bring someone who understands the process and will help you stay grounded. Don’t let anyone take advantage of your kindness or uncertainty like they did to me.

The customer service and high level of attentiveness to

The customer service and high level of attentiveness to detail that Mr. Lewis Byrd provided is next to none. He was instrumental in assisting to select the perfect vehicle for our family, a new 2025 Toyota Rav 4. He then handed us over to Finance Manager Mr. Peyo Polarsky who helped to seamlessly complete the process. Thank's to You Both!!

The old bait and switch.

The old bait and switch. Mike Calvert's website advertises the cheapest 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid in Houston for $24,089. Everyone at MC Toyota tells you to come in as the car is available. Then you're told onsite that this is a "fleet deal" offered when you buy 5 cars or more. That's not clearly defined on their website and only offered to bring in business. Then we're shown a Certified Pre-Owned used car with 13,000 miles on it and offered the exorbitant Features fee of $5,800. The salesman said it was for the 175 point check, parts, and "features". What features, it's an LX base model. We came prepared to buy a corolla for cash and left after all the standard sales tactics of bait and switch, long delays to keep you onsite invested in the dealership, manager introductions, blah....blah....blah. We were insulted by the almost 6,000 dollar charge for CPO "features" and the fact that they offered for us to pay $32,000 for a used car with 13,000 miles which was more expensive than a new Corolla. Not a great experience overall. It was humorous to see the sales tactics, but a general waste of our time. PS. The sales manager with the amish neck beard is worth a chuckle.

Very high dealer add on costs initially but got removed.

Very high dealer add on costs initially but got removed. Total time to purchase took 4hrs on a week day which needs to be improved. Staff were friendly no issues.
