Carter Subaru Ballard is the WORST!! We scheduled 2 appointment at this dealership to test drive cars, the first time they made us wait an hour after our appointment and then gave us some BS excuse that the car wasn't available because it was being detailed. No apologies or compensation for the time we wasted or the distance we traveled. We should have known better but we made a second appointment to test drive 5 cars, when we got there we were told our salesperson was suddenly in the hospital, although she had confirmed the night before. Obviously the manager could not call his employee's scheduled appointments and cancel or reschedule with another sales person. Lazy, inconsiderate, smug, rude *sswholes who do not know what customer service means. Their cars are always overpriced on carfax, rarely a great deal or even a good one. Buy your next car from ANYONE else but Carter Subaru Ballard, they honestly don't give a *hit and could care less about wasting your Saturday.
My wife and I recently leased our very first Subaru from Carter Subaru - a 2019 Subaru Forester. We were fortunate enough to have Steven Mackie as our... salesperson and he was seriously fantastic. Incredibly kind, thoughtful, and a sincere listener as we chatted through what we were looking for in a new vehicle. He gets us :) Mark Arbar, our finance rep, was also a joy to work with and kind as well. Overall, we highly recommend the experience of looking for a new or used car at Carter and couldn't speak more highly of Steven and Mark.
We live in Burien, so this was not the closest Subaru dealership, but we liked it a lot better than the one in Renton. I hate shopping for and buying cars,... but I felt that Carter made it as painless as possible. We worked with Bryan Deando, who was wonderful. We ended up with a certified preowned Impreza, which I'm very happy with. Everyone was very friendly, it seemed very low pressure, and Bryan was very well-informed. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a Subbie!
0 stars if I could. Cannot keep paperwork straight, do not disclose problems with used vehicles. The list goes, the one time I used the service department... they fixed a problem with my seat. Forgot to tighten the seat belt bolt.... seems that would be something to double check..... The management is another story just disrespectful. They will argue with you if there is a problem even if they are wrong (and admit it) I could go on and on... I would highly recommended not buying anything from Carter Subaru, Unless you want a headache down the road. Pricing is high and they will mess things up and contact you 6 months later asking for money back... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME they will seem nice at first rope you in and everything will be a nightmare!
February 25, 2019 SALES VISIT - NEW "No Thank You" - JustACustomer Now I understand why Carter Subaru of Ballard receives such poor ratings. From the moment... of arrival at this local dealership I did not have the sense that the salesman was genuinely motivated to provide the excellent customer service touted on their website. The salesman left me sitting alone in their main lobby for lengthy periods of time periodically arriving to ask me various intrusive and irrelevant questions all the while telling me "it would just be a few more minutes". His lack of respect and juvenile defensive attitude towards me while conducting our business was offensive and unprofessional. Salesman yelling at the customer is not conducive to making the sale. If this experience is indicative of how Carter Subaru operates I am surprised they are still in business. No thank you to Carter Subaru in Ballard - I'll gladly take my business elsewhere.
Watch out - these folks try their best not to honor Subaru service plans and will overcharge like crazy. Be prepared to be an advocate for yourself if... you come here.
My goal was to buy a car over my 3 day weekend a couple weeks ago. (I was trading in my car) I had a great experience working with Donielle Tarsi. However,... there was an issue with the title and get the lein, which caused a week long delay in being able to actually sign and drive away with my car. This caused a lot of inconveniences for me and it would have said a lot if the dealership had knocked off a few dollars on my car, or through in a few free oil changes or something. While everyone was very nice, the frustration and inconveniences caused by this experience unfortunately deeply tainted my experience buying at Carter.
I'd like to echo what Bill Taraday said about working with Brittany New. She's incredible! We came in to test drive the Subaru Forester, and was quickly... impressed at her wealth, and depth of knowledge. Once she understood my priorities, she made some additional recommendations, which were spot on. I came back and purchased a used VW with Brittany's help, and never felt pressured. It was genuinely a pleasurable purchasing experience, and would highly recommend working with Brittany. We will be back!
We worked with Brittany New when buying our Certified Pre Owned Impreza and it was an easy, stress free experience. Not only is she knowledgeable about... her trade but is a very likable person who was always responsive to my questions via email or phone. She made herself available to us, although I'm sure she was juggling many "balls" at any given moment that hardly seemed apparent. She made sure the process was simple for us and that we were getting what we wanted. Highly recommend!
My wife and I just had a stress-free, enjoyable sales experience dealing with Brittany New at Carter Subaru in Seattle. She was extremely knowledgeable... about product and features. She was uncommonly intuitive regarding when to give us space to conduct several private conversations. She helped us in our decision by printing out (1) various "total cost" options and (2) online estimate of value. She was personable and refreshingly candid in her conversation with us while taking a test drive. When we met a seemingly insurmountable problem, she quickly used her creativity to find a solution to the problem. What fluidity she demonstrated in that moment and throughout the process! Even though it was after closing hours, she took the time to provide a thorough technical overview in an unrushed manner. She graciously invited us to return at any time of our convenience for a "brush up.". Since I am in sales myself, I have a keen awareness of how a sales person should focus on the needs of the customer. Brittany certainly embodies that characteristic and many others and does so in a pleasant, helpful and non-aggressive manner. I heartily recommend that, if you are in the market for a Subaru, you treat yourself to your own Brittany New experience.
